Chapter 53 Jiang Luoluo is really lucky.

The man in black, wearing a yellow turban and wielding a long knife, approached Jiang Luoluo step by step, each step exuding an oppressive aura. His deep, hoarse voice emanated from his throat, "Stop playing tricks, hand it over now!"

Jiang Luoluo felt her palms sweating slightly, and her hands trembled slightly under her sleeves, but she forced herself to calm down, and said in a deliberately calm and authoritative tone, "Did you see clearly?"

Before she finished speaking, she suddenly raised the last bottle of lime powder in her hand and sprinkled it accurately into the man's eyes.

The man in black screamed in pain, hurriedly covering his eyes and cursing repeatedly, "You little bitch, how dare you ambush me!"

In a fit of rage, he hurled his long sword with all his might, the blade hurtling straight toward Jiang Luoluo with a sharp whistling sound.

Jiang Luoluo felt a cold sweat trickle down her back and almost instinctively crouched down, covering her head.

At the same time, a gust of sword wind carrying frost suddenly struck, and with a crack, the broadsword was cleaved in two, the broken blade crashing heavily to the ground.

Xie Yizhi's black robe fluttered in the wind. He stood tall and straight, his long sword drawn, flashing cold light, as he thrust it straight at the knee of the man in yellow turbans and black clothes.

"Ah!" The man screamed and fell to his knees, blood staining his knees.

The men in black who had been peering out from the woods were stunned by what they saw. Their faces turned pale, and they slipped and were at a loss for what to do.

"Run!" someone shouted, and the men in black scattered and fled, but they could not escape the fierce sword attacks of Mo Yang and Mo Feng.

The two men leaped from their horses, their longswords flashing, their cold light sweeping across the surroundings like thunder. The fleeing men in black were instantly forced to their knees, clutching their wounds and howling in pain, their previous imposing manner completely gone.

Xie Yizhi sheathed his sword, his gaze softening.

He slowly extended a hand towards Jiang Luoluo, his voice low but filled with self-reproach and tenderness, "I'm late, I've frightened you."

As dawn broke and a gentle breeze caressed his face, a ray of sunlight fell upon Xie Yizhi's tall figure, tinging him with a warm golden hue.

Jiang Luoluo looked up at him, her eyes misty, still shaken.

She stretched out her slender hand, her fingertips still slightly sweaty, with a slight tremor in it.

Xie Yizhi grasped her hand without hesitation, his grip firm and strong, and pulled her up, reassuring her, "I'm here, don't be afraid."

Jiang Luoluo's cold hands gradually warmed up in Xie Yizhi's palms.

She nodded and said softly, "Thank you, Your Highness!"

At this moment, all the men in black had been subdued by Mo Yang and Mo Feng, and they all knelt down on the ground, not daring to move.

Beside the carriage, Dingdang leaned against the carriage wall, enduring the pain from her wound and remaining extremely vigilant.

Seeing that Xie Yizhi had arrived and that the young lady was safe and sound, she finally breathed a sigh of relief. Her eyelids involuntarily grew heavy, her body went limp, and she drifted off to sleep.

Unbeknownst to anyone, Yao Shiyu, on the other side, had been staring intently at the unharmed Jiang Luoluo, a fierce resentment and jealousy flashing in her eyes.

The moment she saw Xie Yizhi turn around, her expression changed drastically, and she hurriedly shrank back into the carriage.

Then, feigning panic and helplessness, she raised her voice and cried out, "Grandma! Grandma! Wake up! Don't scare Ayu!"

The interrogation was handled by Xie Yizhi, while Jiang Luoluo asked Mo Feng to help lift Dingdang onto the carriage and settle her in.

She hurriedly took out a first-aid kit from the compartment inside the car. When she opened it, she saw the wound on Dingdang's arm. The congealed blood had stuck to her clothes, and the scene was shocking.

Jiang Luoluo took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. She first applied some anesthetic to the wound, then gently moistened her clothes with white wine to separate them from the scabs.

Then, she picked up the tweezers and carefully pried the clothes off the wound with extremely gentle movements.

When the wound was fully revealed, Jiang Luoluo's heart clenched even tighter. It was a deep wound, with flesh torn open and blood staining large areas of skin.

She gritted her teeth, picked up a cotton cloth, dipped it in white wine, and slowly cleaned away the blood and impurities around the wound.

After cleaning the wound, she took out some powder for sprains and bruises from the medicine box and sprinkled it evenly on the wound, her gaze focused.

Then, she threaded the needle and carefully stitched up the long wound, one stitch at a time.

With each injection, she moved with utmost care, afraid of causing Dingdang any more suffering.

Despite the horrific nature of her wounds, Dingdang kept her eyes tightly shut and didn't utter a single groan, while Jiang Luoluo's heart ached with pain.

She finally breathed a sigh of relief when the last needle was inserted. She took a thin blanket and gently covered Dingdang with it, whispering, "Dingdang, you get some rest. Leave the rest to me."

Dingdang groggily replied, "Yes, Miss."

Jiang Luoluo stepped out of the carriage, exuding a sharp and imposing aura.

Her gaze, sharp as a blade, swept over the groaning men in black scattered on the ground. The air was thick with the stench of blood; Xie Yizhi's methods were ruthless, and after several rounds, some had already succumbed and begun to beg for mercy.

"My lord, spare us! My lord, spare us! We're just doing this for money!"

"Whose money are you taking? Whose work are you doing?" Xie Yizhi's voice was icy cold, like a sword wrapped in ice shards, piercing the hearts of everyone present.

"I...don't know. Someone gave us five thousand taels of silver to seriously injure the master and servant in this carriage."

The man wearing the yellow turban wailed incessantly until he could no longer hold on and begged for mercy, "My lord, spare my life! I heard... I heard a maidservant advising the girl who gave me the money."

That girl even said, "What's there to be afraid of? I'm her cousin. What can Jiang Luoluo do to me?"

Besides, I only seriously injured her, I didn't order her to be killed, Jiang Luoluo!

These words struck like a thunderbolt, startling everyone present, and their gazes turned in unison toward the carriage.

Cousin?

It goes without saying that Jiang Luoluo only has one cousin and one younger cousin. Who this younger cousin is is almost self-evident.

Hearing all this, Yao Shiyu, who was inside the carriage, felt a sudden tightness in her heart, and panic instantly rose in her mind.

Her hands gripped her sleeves tightly, her nails digging deep into her palms, yet she dared not show the slightest sign of distress on her face.

She looked down at her scratched arm, a barely perceptible hint of smugness appearing on her lips.

She was confident that everything she had arranged was flawless, and no matter how clever Jiang Luoluo was, she would never be able to find any flaws in her plan.

After all, she really didn't do anything; she just subtly hinted at Jiang Yunjiao's ideas.

Those bandits weren't hired by her, and Jiang Luoluo herself agreed to go to Yuanhua Temple. She and her grandmother only gave it a little push.

If anyone's to blame, it's Jiang Luoluo herself for being stupid. How could all of this have anything to do with Yao Shiyu?

On the other side, Su Cuirong slowly woke up, rubbed her forehead and sighed softly.

Jiang Luoluo is really lucky; despite so many bandits, she didn't suffer at all.
