Chapter 55: Can I, Jiang Luoluo, not be loved?

"You jinx! You good-for-nothing who got dumped! Have you lost your mind? Why did you kick me into the water?"

The autumn pond water was icy cold. Jiang Yunjiao was soaked to the bone and shivered from the cold. She couldn't help but sneeze repeatedly and angrily cursed at Jiang Luoluo.

Upon seeing this, her maidservant was so frightened that she turned and ran, running all the way to Lu Baimei's courtyard to report the news.

A short while later, Lu Baimei rushed over.

Seeing her daughter shivering in the pool, Lu Baimei's face changed drastically. She rushed forward and questioned sharply, "Jiang Luoluo! What's gotten into you? Why did you kick your cousin into the water?"

Seeing this, Lu Baimei's face darkened, and she quickly scolded the maids and servants around her, "What are you all standing there for? Hurry up and pull the young lady out of the water!"

Just as the maids and servants were about to step forward, they suddenly heard Jiang Luoluo coldly say, "Wait!"

Her voice was like a knife, carrying an irresistible authority. At the same time, Mo Yang's sword was already drawn, its cold light gleaming, aimed directly at everyone.

The maids and servants trembled at the chill of the sword's edge, immediately retracting their steps and standing still, not daring to move forward even a fraction.

Jiang Luoluo glanced coldly at Lu Baimei, her gaze like a icy blade, her voice carrying a chilling edge: "Second Aunt, why don't you ask your good daughter what she's been up to?"

Miss Jiang hired someone to commit murder; her crime deserves the death penalty! Is this the good daughter her second aunt raised?

Upon hearing this, Lu Baimei's face turned pale and then red. Although she was intimidated by Jiang Luoluo's imposing manner, she quickly recovered.

"Hired someone to kill? You're standing right here perfectly fine! What nonsense are you spouting!" Lu Baimei raised her voice, suppressing her anger, and tried to defend her daughter.

Jiang Luoluo sneered, took a step forward, and said with icy eyes, "I'm standing here perfectly fine? But my maid Dingdang has been seriously injured by bandits and her life is hanging in the balance!"

Every word Jiang Luoluo said was like a heavy hammer blow, striking Lu Baimei and Jiang Yunjiao's hearts hard.

Lu Baimei then took a closer look at Jiang Luoluo and saw that the hem of her dress was covered with mud and bloodstains, indicating that she had obviously gone through a lot of trouble.

However, Jiang Yunjiao in the pool still refused to admit her mistake, sticking her neck out and angrily retorting loudly, "Jiang Luoluo, don't make false accusations! What do you mean by hiring someone to kill? I didn't do such a thing at all!"

"No?" Jiang Luoluo smiled coldly, took out a thick stack of silver notes from her sleeve, and waved them in front of the two of them. "Then what's this? Silver notes with the mark of the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Revenue. Second Aunt and Cousin, take a good look!"

Upon seeing the silver note, Jiang Yunjiao froze, a hint of panic flashing in her eyes, while Lu Baimei quickly stepped forward and snatched the silver note away.

Lu Baimei examined the silver notes carefully and indeed found that they were marked with the seal of the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Revenue.

Her expression changed slightly, but she quickly regained her composure and sneered, "So what if there's a mark on the silver note? Does that prove that Yun Jiao did it? Jiang Luoluo, don't make baseless accusations."

"Fine, since Second Aunt is so stubborn, then your daughter will have to suffer a bit." Jiang Luoluo smiled coldly and then gestured to Mo Yang.

Mo Yang understood immediately and stepped forward steadily, his eyes revealing a cold killing intent.

He always kept the prince's orders in mind: whoever Miss Jiang pointed to, he would kill.

"Guard Mo, if a spy is caught on the battlefield but refuses to confess, what will you do with him?" Jiang Luoluo's tone was calm, yet carried a chilling aura.

“Reporting to Miss Jiang,” Mo Yang’s voice was loud and clear, “spies don’t confess. They are usually skinned alive and tortured until they talk!”

These words were spoken with such force and conviction that they made everyone's hearts tremble.

Jiang Luoluo slowly curled her lips, her eyes growing even colder. "Peeling and pulling out tendons is too bloody. Let's start by cutting off a finger to teach my cousin a lesson first."

"Yes!" Mo Yang drew his sword and walked forward, his steps as steady as Mount Tai, the cold light flashing uncertainly on the blade.

Jiang Yunjiao, who was in the pool, panicked completely. Her lips trembled, her whole body shook, and tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.

In a fit of rage, she shouted angrily, "Jiang Luoluo, how dare you abuse your power! Who gave you the audacity? I only wanted someone to seriously injure you and that lowly maid, I didn't hire anyone to kill you! Don't spout nonsense!"

Before the words were even finished, it was like a thunderbolt striking everyone's ears.

Lu Baimei's face turned deathly pale instantly, her lips trembled, but she couldn't utter a single word.

The maids and servants watching the commotion gasped in shock, not daring to utter a sound.

"Did you hear me clearly, Second Aunt?" Jiang Luoluo sneered, her gaze sweeping over Lu Baimei like an icy blade. "This is the good daughter you personally raised."

Lu Baimei felt a sharp pain in her chest, and the words Jiang Muyan had said a few days ago came to mind: to give Jiang Yunjiao more advice to prevent her from getting into trouble. At the time, she had not taken it to heart at all.

Jiang Luoluo slowly took a few steps forward, stood on the bank, and looked down at Jiang Yunjiao, who was in a sorry state in the water. Her voice was as cold as a knife, "Why did you do this? I have no deep hatred for you, why did you treat me so cruelly?"

Jiang Yunjiao trembled all over, filled with fear and hatred. She gripped her soaked sleeves tightly with both hands, and her voice trembled as she asked, "Why? Why do you, a good-for-nothing who was jilted, have won the favor of His Highness Prince Yi?"

As she spoke, tears welled up uncontrollably, her voice filled with deep resentment and bitterness, "You jinx! You should have kept your head down after being divorced, why did you still have to seduce Prince Yi?"

Upon hearing this, Lu Baimei felt a chill run down her spine. It was too late for regrets. She stumbled and nearly fell on the covered bridge.

Jiang Luoluo was somewhat surprised after hearing Jiang Yunjiao's words. She couldn't understand why Jiang Yunjiao was causing her trouble. It turned out that the problem lay with Xie Yizhi.

She smiled and said, "Your Highness Prince Yi is so elegant and refined, like a piece of cold jade. Do you think you can admire him, but I, Jiang Luoluo, cannot?"

"Because of this, you bribed someone to impersonate a bandit and try to kill me. There are quite a few women who admire His Highness Prince Yi; are you going to kill them all?"

Jiang Yunjiao was furious and sobbed, "You're such a fool, what right do you have? I just don't like the look of you. Besides, I didn't mean to kill you, I just had someone seriously injure you."

As Jiang Luoluo reflected on the events of the day, she gradually pieced together the events in her mind.

Yao Shiyu and Su Cuirong's carriage was completely intact and unharmed, while the bandits were clearly after her and Dingdang.

Jiang Yunjiao's actions were most likely instigated by Yao Shiyu.

This cousin is always adept at using others to do her dirty work, cleverly employing other people's methods to achieve her own goals.

Jiang Luoluo's eyes turned cold, and her voice was icy, "Jiang Yunjiao, even now, you still show no remorse? Fine, then let's hand this case over to the Dali Temple for trial!"

"No, absolutely not, Lolo!"

A hurried male voice interrupted her, and before the voice could finish, a figure rushed over.
