"It was you! What a coincidence." Xia Yue looked slightly surprised.
Gu Chen, however, did not want Xia Yue and Gu Yusui to have too much contact.
Gu Yusui is too ambitious and very troublesome.
"Junior sister, aren't you hungry? Come on, I'll take you over there to eat some small cakes." Gu Chen quickly changed the subject.
He didn't give Gu Yusui a chance and took Xia Yue's arm as they headed towards the food area.
Gu Yusui was a lady from a prominent family, and she valued her reputation, so she certainly wouldn't continue to pursue him under these circumstances.
Xia Yue was taken to the dessert area, but she had no appetite.
The cloying sweet smell made her feel nauseous, so she turned her head away.
"What's wrong? Didn't you used to love eating cupcakes?" Gu Chen took a chocolate cupcake and handed it to Xia Yue.
Xia Yue took a step back, her brows furrowed slightly, and whispered, "I don't have much of an appetite today."
"Alright, then choose whatever you like to eat and stay here quietly. I have some important guests to entertain, I'll come find you later." After Gu Chen finished speaking, he patted Xia Yue's head and then left.
Xia Yue watched Gu Chen's retreating figure, her brows furrowed slightly, a hint of displeasure in her heart.
When this man was in a good mood, he would bring her out to show everyone.
When something comes up, they just leave her aside.
Furthermore, she cannot have her own emotions.
How is this different from a pet?
She became increasingly unhappy with her "relationship" with Gu Chen.
When Xia Yue is unhappy, she usually chooses to eat.
With little appetite, she picked up a piece of hawthorn cake to whet her appetite and took a casual bite.
Just then, a man in a wheelchair suddenly appeared in front of Xia Yue.
The man wore a dark gray Chinese-style long gown and gold-rimmed glasses. He gently adjusted his glasses, exuding a gentle and refined air. He spoke softly.
"Dr. X, no, I should call you sister-in-law now. It's been a long time."
