Chapter 49 Chick Complex
"Brother Tingzhou?" she tried to call out.
No response.
"He Tingzhou?"
He must have fainted from the fever, and he couldn't be woken up even if she called him. Shuang Xu hesitated for a moment, but in the end she didn't push him away.
He Tingzhou was much taller than her, and this leaning posture was very submissive.
For the sake of the bamboo green snake, she carefully raised her body and straightened her back so that he could lean on her more comfortably.
She didn't know how long He Tingzhou had been in the rain. His skin was frighteningly hot and his breath was hot.
The hot and heavy breath hit her neck all at once, quickly dyeing her porcelain-white skin red.
Tiny shivers spread from that place, spreading like vines throughout her limbs. This time she no longer felt cold; she almost caught fire.
Her body was as stiff as a steel rod, her fingertips tightly grasping her pants at the knees, and her toes digging into the ground.
He Tingzhou's weight was too much for Shuang Xu's small body. Her left shoulder felt sore and heavy, while he was sleeping soundly and unconscious.
It was a real hassle in this remote place with a heavy rain. There were no doctors or medicine. I didn't know when the rain would stop. It was not a good idea to let him continue to suffer like this.
He is Commander He's only son. What if he gets his brain burned out?
He was bad to begin with, his fighting capacity exceeded the standard, and then he became a big disaster with a fool.
Shuang Xu looked around and his eyes fell on the stream.
After a moment, she held He Tingzhou's head and chin with her palms, and carefully lifted up his heavy head.
His sharply defined bones pressed against her palms, and her fingers accidentally touched his hot lips, which she immediately pulled away as if she had been electrocuted.
She put He Tingzhou on the stone wall and quietly got out of his clothes. She turned her back to him and unbuttoned his coat, then rustled off the vest underneath.
When she put on her clothes and turned around, she found that He Tingzhou had opened his eyes at some point.
He bent one leg slightly, rested his wrist on his knee, leaned against the wall, and stared at her silently with his dark eyes.
"When did you wake up?"
"When you took off the second piece of clothing." He Tingzhou's voice was lazy, probably because of the fever. The warm and slightly hoarse sandy feeling rubbed against Shuang Xu's ears, causing her cheeks to suddenly feel hot.
She bit her lip.
How come this person doesn't know how to avoid it at all and is staring at me openly?
If he wasn't a patient, I would really want to beat him up.
Of course, she can't be beaten.
She didn't want to care about him for a moment. She glared at him angrily, and sulked for a few seconds. Then she turned and walked to the water's edge, wet her vest and squeezed it dry.
She tightened her face, pursed her lips, came back and knelt beside He Tingzhou, and put her head against his forehead to cool him down.
Fortunately, it was very dark in the cave and the light from the flashlight was weak, so Frost Xu was able to keep his composure and remain calm.
"You have a very bad fever," she explained. "I don't know when the rain will stop, so let's make do for now."
The cotton fabric had been washed by the water from the mountain stream, and the coolness was permeated with the faint scent of her body.
It is difficult to describe the scent accurately. It is like a soft woody rose note with the lightness of white tea, somewhere between purity and warmth. It makes people want to bury their heads in it and take a deep sniff.
He Tingzhou swallowed, raised his head and closed his eyes in the dim light of the flashlight.
Without being able to see his eyes, Shuang Xu felt much more at ease.
After a while, when the vest was warmed by his body temperature, she took it off and washed it again.
Although it is summer, the stream water in the mountains is still very cool, and your hands will feel freezing if you soak them for too long.
She washed him several times to cool him down, and she sat beside him, watching him, feeling so sleepy that she kept her head down.
Suddenly she noticed something happening around her, and she looked over in a daze, only to find that He Tingzhou's face was unusually pale.
His forehead was covered in sweat, his brows were tightly furrowed, and there were some faint moans coming from his throat. He appeared to be in a state of extreme tension and anxiety even in his sleep.
Struggling like a trapped beast, this usually reckless person actually showed a kind of contradictory fragility at this moment.
Shuang Xu woke up immediately and initially thought that he had a fever, so he put his hand on his forehead to test the temperature.
As soon as her skin touched, almost instantly, He Tingzhou reflexively raised his hand and grabbed her wrist.
Shuang Xu's wrist bone was nearly broken by him. She screamed in pain, and He Tingzhou opened his eyes.
Those black eyes were as sharp as a blade and as deep as insoluble ink.
He was still breathing slightly, and seeing Shuang Xu's face turned pale with pain, the force slowly loosened after a few seconds.
"Sorry." His voice was hoarse and he rubbed her wrist twice with his fingertips as if to comfort her.
Shuang Xu pulled his hand back. His original shock and the tears that almost came out of his eyes in pain were replaced by suspicion after hearing these two words.
He Tingzhou actually apologized.
It's as rare as a dog suddenly meowing.
"I had a nightmare." He Tingzhou explained.
Shuang Xu rubbed his wrist and said, "How can someone like you still have nightmares?"
"I'm not a god, of course I have nightmares."
Shuang Xu said: "Of course you are not a god, you are more like a Rakshasa."
He Tingzhou glanced at her. His body had relaxed by then. He leaned back with his arms on his knees. "Am I that scary?"
"Don't you know how bad your reputation is out there? They say you almost killed someone."
No one really cares whether the rumor is true or not. Gossipers just like to spread the thrill of novelty.
Shuang Xu paused and said, "To some extent, we are in the same boat."
They all have a bad reputation among others.
He Tingzhou said lazily: "My bad reputation is caused by them meddling in other people's affairs and making trouble. You deserve it."
Frost Preface: “…”
"What crime have I committed?" Shuang Xu found himself unexpectedly calm. He didn't even feel angry when he said that.
"My mother abandoned me, my father didn't want me either, and others threw me away like trash, but my brother picked me up and brought me home, loving me like a baby. Is it weird that I like him?"
"This is not called love, this is a hen-and-bird complex." He Tingzhou's casual eyes fell on her, and he said mockingly: "Little princess, you don't even understand what love between men and women is."
Shuang Xu was a little unhappy, but she couldn't tell why. She just felt that He Tingzhou was denying her feelings for Shen Yu.
"You don't understand." She said, "You don't follow male ethics."
He Tingzhou sneered: "How can I not observe male ethics? When you wanted to sleep with me, didn't I keep myself clean and refuse to obey even if I died?"
“…”
Shuang Xu didn't want to pay attention to him, turned his face to the other side and stopped talking.
I kept thinking about the bird complex in my mind and I didn't know when I fell asleep.
I don’t know how long I slept, but I seemed to hear a noise in the dim light, someone was calling her name.
Yue Zifeng saw the cave and ran towards it. He looked down and was stunned.
The two people who had been missing for a whole night were leaning against the wall and relying on each other. Shuang Xu rested her head on He Tingzhou's legs. The prince, who had never written the words "pitying and cherishing women", was actually working hard as a human cushion for others.
He Tingzhou was awake and saw his extremely calm reaction: "Here he comes."
"Oh my God, I finally found you." Yue Zifeng's voice became hoarse, and he stuck his head out of the cave and shouted to the outside: "Here! They are here!"
Shuang Xu was awakened, and woke up drowsily, finding that the light in the cave had become much brighter.
It was daybreak and the rain outside seemed to have stopped.
When she opened her eyes and saw He Tingzhou's face in the sky, she was dazed and didn't react.
He Tingzhou lowered his eyes and looked at her: "Are you comfortable?"
She sat up quickly when she realized she was lying on his lap.
It's strange, she clearly slept sitting up last night.
There were footsteps approaching the cave, and Shen Yu strode in. His tense and solemn expression relaxed after he saw her.
