Chapter 4: Solitary Confinement

You dare to imprison me, it is against the law."

Fu Yanli stood outside the door, staring coldly at Tong Miaomiao through the small window.

His tone was cold, "Oh, my wife!

You seem to have forgotten how you managed to get into my bed and become my wife.

Tong Miaomiao, you are the most despicable woman I have ever seen.

This evening almost broke me.

I won't teach you a lesson.

Do you think I'm easy to talk to?

You went to great lengths to marry me.

Break up Xinlei and I.

I will make you regret it!" Fu Yanli said and left the basement.

Tong Miaomiao was so angry that she slammed the iron door, "Fu Yanli, you bastard!

Let me out, or I'll make you regret it."

The only response she got was a sinister echo.

Tong Miaomiao was so angry that she put her hands on her hips and kicked the iron gate.

"You bastard, you dare to put me in solitary confinement?

Oh, that’s great!

I'll make you beg me to get out."

Fu Yanli returned to the bridal chamber from the basement and saw that the room was empty.

There wasn't even a big bed.

He was shocked and his eyes widened, thinking he had seen it wrong.

He rubbed his eyes and opened them again.

Still the same scenario.

The room was empty.

Later they discovered that the safe had been pried open and all the money inside was missing.

Fu Yanli was so angry that he shouted, "Butler!"

"housekeeper!"

"Hey, here they come!" The housekeeper who heard the roar downstairs quickly went upstairs.

The housekeeper was in his 50s, slightly plump, wearing pajamas, and looked very kind.

As soon as I entered Fu Yanli's room, I found it empty and felt like I was struck by lightning.

He pointed at the empty room with trembling hands, and his voice was trembling.

"Master...this...this..."

Fu Yanli's face was as dark as ink, his fists were clenched, and veins on the back of his hands were bulging.

“What’s going on?

What else happened at home after I went to the hospital?

Besides Tong Miaomiao secretly running away, who else has been here?"

The housekeeper shook his head in panic, almost frightened to tears.

"No, Master."

"After you went to the hospital, no one from your family came."

Fu Yanli's eyes were cold, "Are you sure no one has been here?

How could things in the house disappear if no one came?

How could such a large bed be moved out without going through the main door?

And this safe was stolen.

If no one comes, will it grow wings and disappear into thin air?"

The housekeeper was so frightened that he fell to his knees with a plop, his whole body covered in cold sweat.

My back felt cold, "Master, I really don't know!

This...this safe was stolen, things at home were lost, I...I really don’t know anything!

After you were taken to the hospital, I went back to my room to sleep.

I don’t even know when the young lady left.”

Fu Yanli laughed angrily, "You don't know!"

"You really don't know, or are you responsible for the burglary?"

When the housekeeper heard this, his face turned pale with fright.

He waved his hands hurriedly, "No!

It’s unfair, young master!

I really don't.

I have worked in the Fu family for so many years and have always been loyal to you, and have never had any other thoughts.

It is even more impossible to steal things from home.

Everything I said is true. If I tell even a single lie, let God punish me..."

"Okay!" Fu Yanli interrupted the butler.

"I don't think you have the guts to do that."

"Get up, and get someone to check it out."

I was just too angry and doubted you.

I hope you won’t let me down.”

The housekeeper hurriedly got up and crawled out.

"I'll arrange for someone to investigate..."
