Chapter 18 The baby in the correct position is hers? That's impossible! ...

After the initial examination, Dr. Huang immediately went to prepare medical supplies and hot water.

The cold, damp mist seeped through the window, and Qin Lingchuan's face seemed to be covered with a layer of pale water vapor, making him look so fragile.

Youzhen didn't say anything, she just tucked the blanket around him.

Qin Lingchuan locked her forearm. She hadn't responded when he called Youzhen earlier, so he tentatively called out, "Zhen...Zhenzhen?"

Youzhen's arm paused for a moment, but she did not resist.

"Please, forgive me this once. For the sake of the child." Qin Lingchuan pressed his advantage, hugging her tightly from behind, his slightly protruding belly under the maternity belt pressing against her lower back. "What exactly are you running away from?"

Youzhen tried to push him away with all her might, but he grabbed her wrists and pressed them against her stomach without saying a word.

He changed into a dark blue sleeveless loungewear set, loose and soft, but the surprisingly loud noise coming from beneath the comfortable fabric startled Youzhen.

The area where the palms touch is several degrees warmer than the surrounding area.

His abdomen was icy cold, and as her icy fingers guided him, Youzhen gradually sensed changes in her internal energy beneath her warm palm. The places she touched gradually calmed down.

Medical books say that if the baby in the womb of a pregnant woman is restless, only blood relatives can gently educate and guide it.

Moreover, this seemingly faint, yet strong and weak, internal force adhered tightly to her palm lines like tentacles.

Does the baby recognize her inner strength?

A surge of electric current shot straight to the top of my head, and goosebumps rose all over my body.

Is the child hers?

That's impossible!

That's absolutely impossible!

My senior brother said that the child is only two months old, and including the time spent at the Zhou family, he is at most three months old.

The absurd engagement party happened more than five months ago...

How could Qin Lingchuan be carrying her child?

Qin Lingchuan's tone carried a hint of warning: "You don't want to acknowledge it?"

Youzhen wanted to pull her hand away, but inexplicably, she craved the feeling.

She had never experienced anything so vivid. The undercurrents surging beneath the rocks were calmed by her, as if she too possessed the ability to stir up storms.

Qin Lingchuan wouldn't let her pull her hand away, staring at her intently, brooking no argument.

Youzhen glanced at his waist and suddenly let out a cold laugh: "Stop pretending. Maybe it's because we're twins, and our close blood ties made the fetus mistake you for someone else?"

Qin Lingchuan straightened up, brushed the stray hairs behind her ear with his left hand, and carefully examined the corner of her left eye. There was no red mole there. His voice was as sharp as ice: "How could someone who has studied medicine for a few years say such a thing?"

She's just being unreasonable and refusing to admit it.

She denies her past relationship with him and doesn't even acknowledge her child.

However, she was very bad at lying, and her expression gave her away.

Youzhen felt as if she were being electrocuted. Yes, she was confused! This kind of bloodline confirmation is even more accurate than DNA matching.

Paper reports can be altered and lied about, but the power of intuition is infallible. A biological relationship is a biological relationship; aunts, maternal aunts, or even twin sisters cannot provide this kind of connection.

Qin Lingchuan released her and reached into the drawer to take out a stack of documents: "I know that you stayed by Zhou Yuanli's side to investigate the Xia family, just like you took care of me when I couldn't see."

His hands were weak from the pain, and he clenched his fingers tightly to keep the paper from slipping, bringing them close to her fingertips. His other hand, which had been protecting her lower abdomen, slid down her pregnant belly.

Youzhen looked down at him, her body, which had felt cold just moments before, was now covered in sweat.

The stack of papers trembled in front of him, just like the grainy texture of his trembling voice: "What do you need to do? I'll help you."

Without a word, he shoved the documents into her hands: "You went to open the safe that day because you wanted these, didn't you? Take them. This evidence is enough to put Zhou Yuanli in jail for a few years. Then we'll leave this place, forget about the grudges of the previous generation, and live a good life, okay?"

Youzhen knew that Qin Lingchuan was also investigating Zhou Yuanli, but he refused to share her with him, and he had not been able to find her sister's and aunt's hospital records.

She looked down at the stack of papers, a restrained tremor hidden in the shadow cast by her eyelashes. Suddenly, she laughed cryptically and pushed the documents aside: "What are you talking about? These are your senior's materials, right? Just give them to him."

She knew in her heart that this feeling of compassion, which felt like she was falling for him again, was very dangerous.

Qin Lingchuan's eyes were full of stubborn resentment and resistance: "Your senior brother only cares about interests and calculations. He doesn't care about you at all."

Youzhen coldly replied, "Then it seems we're on the same page. I also only care about interests."

The documents were scattered all over the floor, like someone's carefully cherished glass heart; once broken, it's hard to piece it back together.

Qin Lingchuan gripped her shoulders, his voice like a broken string: "You're not! Xia Youzhen has never been such a heartless, ruthless person."

Youzhen looked up, her voice trembling with rage, and stared intently at Qin Lingchuan: "She isn't, so I'm not her either."

A sudden abdominal pain struck. Seeing her so resolute, Qin Lingchuan forced himself to calm down, his heart growing heavier.

Youzhen was in no better shape, her face ashen.

Qin Lingchuan slowly pulled her into his arms: "Yes, I wasn't strong enough back then. I didn't mean to lie to you, but the normal, healthy me can't come back."

Youzhen's mind was filled with images of Zhou Yuanli, his hand reaching back to adjust his glasses frame, his voice seductive and alluring.

The two voices surrounded Youzhen like a stereo sound, and she realized that they were indeed brothers, and when they were stubborn, they were exactly the same.

Unless one of them admits defeat first, they will fight to the death.

In the end, it was Qin Lingchuan's voice that filled her ears: "Only if I go blind and there is no possibility of me competing with him for the inheritance will he act like a brother and relax his vigilance in the slightest."

“Youzhen, this matter is very dangerous, and I don’t want to involve you. I can’t lose you again. I can even put aside my hatred for you.” He turned her around and looked into her calm eyes. “You have feelings for Zhou Yuanli. You can ask me to stop. I just can’t bear to watch you fall into the vortex of revenge.”

She was almost overwhelmed. Qin Lingchuan's tone was like a noose tightening around her; she would either be strangled or released without charge.

"I beg you, you can trust me a little more, you can rely on me, you can be honest with me, and let me share your burdens."

Youzhen: "I don't disbelieve you."

The image of Qin Lingchuan with her sister flashed through her mind again:

"It must be hard for you, Mr. Qin, to marry me and leave behind your beloved sister. You must feel terrible."

"It's alright. You are also a daughter of the Xia family, and you are worthy of me."

Does he know that he's already obsessed with love and is confessing his feelings to his stand-in?

The door hinges suddenly made a sound, and Dr. Huang came in carrying an iron tray, feeling utterly bewildered.

If it weren't for the fact that one of them was the boss and the other was Miss Xia, whom the boss adored, and he couldn't afford to offend either of them, he really wanted to give them both a good scolding.

Even in their current state, half of their body was still hanging off the bed, clinging to each other with difficulty, reluctant to part.

"Miss Xia, I need to get pregnant right now, could you please help me?"

"How can this be!" Qin Lingchuan couldn't help but thrust her belly forward, she couldn't bear to look.

During the two weeks he was away on a business trip, his pregnant belly grew exceptionally fast. He worked day and night and had no extra energy to apply the ointment.

Those fine red marks grew out even more recklessly.

Youzhen immediately held him down, realizing what a cruel thing she was doing. She immediately felt colder, and her mind calmed down as well.

He's still in pain, but he'll get through this difficult time first, no matter what.

She got up to close the window; after all, it was her duty to keep the baby in his belly quiet for a while.

As she turned around, she grabbed the cashmere blanket from the sofa and draped it over him.

Dr. Huang, being experienced, knew what he was worried about. In fact, even in the hospital during the actual delivery, it's generally not recommended for the partner to watch, so he said slowly, "Okay, I'll still use the Bugukai method, and neither of you should watch."

The pale blue sterile drape unfurled on the steel frame like a curtain suddenly descending, dividing the hospital bed into two worlds.

The only difference was that her position was higher than usual, and her round belly was also kept out of sight by the curtain.

The moment the rough palm pressed against the soft pregnant belly, Qin Lingchuan cried out in pain and instinctively turned to her.

Qin Lingchuan could tell that Dr. Huang hadn't hit him too hard; the little bun was probably comfortable inside and didn't want to turn around.

The baby's current position means its foot is kicking the thinnest part of the uterine wall on the right side, so it needs to be turned over.

Dr. Huang had no choice but to stop. Youzhen gently massaged his upper abdomen while mumbling, "It's okay, we need to turn the baby, turn the baby's position, turn it around."

She'd never been married, so she couldn't really articulate how to take care of a pregnant man.

Qin Lingchuan's thin lips turned pale, and he could only breathe silently. Having endured alone for too long, the baby, curious about the new blood connection, wriggled even more wildly under Youzhen's palm.

She was a novice herself and didn't quite grasp the technique yet. But she couldn't worry about that right now; she was more concerned about the adults' health.

Qin Lingchuan glanced at her listlessly, his words unspoken.

Seeing his gentle and resolute nature, Youzhen nodded to Dr. Huang, who then increased the force and forcefully twisted the small lump in his abdomen.

A man's belly is like a lump of dough, which he can knead and flatten at will.

Qin Lingchuan hoped that she was on this side of the curtain and wouldn't see his terrifying belly; yet he also hoped that she was on the other side of the curtain and wouldn't see his muffled groans of pain.

Youzhen felt an overwhelming pang of heartache and tightly embraced his bare shoulders, wiping away his cold sweat.

He said he almost miscarried during this business trip. Was it this painful too...?

She never knew.

Qin Lingchuan's house was always neat and tidy, but Youzhen's heart was like a basement filled with clutter.

"Let me see, is it okay?" She lifted a corner of the quilt, and Qin Lingchuan immediately forgot about his stomach pain and pressed the corner of the quilt down tightly.

Dr. Huang said calmly, "During pregnancy, in addition to avoiding certain foods, getting plenty of rest and exercise, the emotional state of the expectant father is also very important."

Youzhen understood his unspoken meaning and stopped insisting.

The veins on Qin Lingchuan's forehead bulged, but he remained silent, only letting out a few heavy breaths during the intervals between the rotations of Dr. Huang.

Youzhen couldn't bear to brush him off, and didn't even look at the sterile cloth, only staring at half of Dr. Huang's face.

It started raining again outside; the weather was always gloomy and unpredictable.

The baby finally turned around, and Dr. Huang breathed a sigh of relief. He covered the patient with a coat and removed the metal frame.

The pain in his lower abdomen continued. Qin Lingchuan was exhausted and fell into a deep sleep amidst the lingering pain, his arms still tightly pressed against the corner of the blanket.

Tao Bei was still waiting outside the door. You Zhen was afraid of disturbing Qin Lingchuan, so she went outside and asked him a few questions.

"How could your boss's health be so poor?"

Seeing that she had taken the initiative to ask, Tao Bei wanted to say a few more words: "Miss Xia, you may not know this, but ever since the master had a false pregnancy reaction, he has been severely deficient in blood and energy because he has not been able to receive the love of his other half. Not to mention, after he actually became pregnant, he has not had a moment of peace and has never had a day to take good care of himself. Naturally, his condition has been deteriorating."

She recalled the day the Zhou family announced the new project; he didn't seem to be doing well either.

Tao Bei sighed and continued, "I don't know if Dr. Huang told you, but the master's depression is also very serious. You're arguing with him, and he's holding back his anger. How can the child get better? If the child isn't well, the master will be even worse off."

Youzhen nodded: "I understand. Dr. Huang said we should observe him tonight, and if he doesn't get better, we'll have to send him to the hospital. We can't just let him be."

Tao Bei agreed, "Then I'll stay here. You go back and rest first."

Youzhen shook her head: "No need, only I can soothe that child."

"But……"

"No buts needed, just bring me a basin of hot water."

Tao Bei was still a little worried about her, but he still agreed: "Then I'll stay in the room next door. Just call me if anything happens."

Youzhen turned and went into the house. Looking at the man's weak appearance after the great pain, she felt a slight pang of pain in her heart.

He slept restlessly, his brows furrowed.

Youzhen placed her hand on her abdomen, and the womb quickly calmed down.

The child recognizes her.

Youzhen stroked upwards along the top of his abdomen, but his arms were pressed too tightly, making it impossible to cover him properly with the blanket.

She had no choice but to wrap him tightly in the wool blanket, and inadvertently touched several old wounds on his chest and the scars on his shoulder where she had stitched them up.

As soon as she removed her hand, his belly started to move again. She had no choice but to stay close by, carefully cradling his belly to soothe him, hoping he could sleep a little longer and suffer pain again when he woke up.

She studied medicine, but had never studied obstetrics. She wasn't interested in it, and had no idea what kind of suffering men endured during pregnancy.

But the more she did this, the more she despised herself.

She took her sister's place and usurped her brother-in-law's love.

The better Qin Lingchuan treated her, the more guilty she felt.

The child can only sense her spiritual energy fluctuations, so she is her flesh and blood, without a doubt.

That time, Qin Lingchuan was drugged. She made him mistake her for his sister, which is why he became aroused and got pregnant.

If he knew this child wasn't his sister's, he would feel utterly disgusted.

What if she aborted the child without anyone knowing?

·

The sky remained dark, and the air was even more humid. Qin Lingchuan awoke from a dull ache.

He could only feel the vitality of life when the baby inside him was kicking incessantly.

He straightened up slightly and felt something pressing down on his left side. When he turned his head, he saw her sleeping little head.

She just lay quietly beside him.

He was testing her, or rather, trying to force her to admit it, but each time he couldn't help himself. After each forceful act, he was filled with a surge of regret and anger; he was angry at himself.

He couldn't help but reach out and gather her long hair that fell beside her ear; the moment he moved, she woke up.

Qin Lingchuan felt apologetic for waking her up.

Youzhen's eyes were clear, and she placed a hand on his forehead: "It's alright, you don't have a fever. When did you wake up? Why didn't you call me?"

Qin Lingchuan replied irrelevantly, "I thought you weren't coming."

Youzhen didn't answer, but wrapped her arms around his abdomen and coaxed, "Does it still hurt?"

Qin Lingchuan didn't hide it from her, and gave a low, hoarse "hmm" as he propped himself up.

Youzhen immediately pressed him down, her face stern: "What are you doing? Dr. Huang told you not to get out of bed."

Qin Lingchuan chuckled: "Why are you so fierce even when you're concerned about me? I just want some water."

"I'll get it for you, but you're not allowed to move. If you bleed again, then... then..."

"Okay." Her voice was full of doting affection. Qin Lingchuan was also scared and carefully sat up. Youzhen took a pillow and put it under his lower back.

He was sweating profusely from the pain, and his mouth was naturally dry. He drank two cups in a row, and Youzhen asked him if he wanted more and if he was hungry.

"It's so late, let's not eat now."

Youzhen glanced at the time and said, "That won't do. We need to eat something to tide us over. There's something ready."

She went downstairs to get it, and Tao Bei happened to come in. He saw that Qin Lingchuan was awake and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Abei, go and rest."

Tao Bei was worried: "Don't you need me to take care of you? Dr. Huang instructed you to rest."

Qin Lingchuan looked in the direction Youzhen had gone downstairs and said, "No need. You've worked hard too. Go and rest."

Tao Bei was stunned for a moment. His boss actually said words of condolence, and his whole demeanor became much gentler, as if a soft light effect had been applied, making him look like a 'saintly father'.

Moreover, I've rarely heard him call me "Abei" since I started following him when I was a teenager.

Overjoyed, Tao Bei went out with a beaming smile, only to run into You Zhen, who was returning home, and she looked completely bewildered.

Youzhen brought up a plate of pastries, and Qin Lingchuan looked at them for a while before asking in a low voice, "You still remember..."

Youzhen picked up a piece and fed it to him. Qin Lingchuan took the opportunity to take a bite, following her hand. He hadn't tasted the flavor of the alley in a long time.

"Of course I remember, I asked Tao Bei to buy it specifically."

Neither of them tacitly mentioned yesterday's events again. The current peace seemed stolen, as if they were afraid that a single word or action would push them apart once more.

As soon as he felt a little better, he immediately wanted to contact Mo Ye to handle official business.

Youzhen couldn't persuade him otherwise, so she went downstairs again to prepare lunch.

As soon as she turned the corner, a strange young man at the stairwell avoided her eye contact. As soon as he saw her come out of the house, he hid behind a pillar.

Despite the man wearing a beret, Youzhen still recognized a face that seemed somewhat familiar.

The Zhou family employs mostly older people, and Qin Lingchuan and Zhou Yuanli never discuss matters at home. The sudden appearance of a childish face made it hard for her not to be suspicious.

The next second, Youzhen froze on the spot.

Isn't this the same person who tried to wipe out Qin Lingchuan?

She was one of the people who rescued him from blindness and brought him back to the rented room, and who came to his door the next day.

She immediately said, "Stop!"

The man was clearly unfamiliar with the house and ran into a dead end. Youzhen felt something was wrong: "Why did you run away when you saw me? Although I'm not surnamed Zhou, I'm practically a half-master of this Zhou family. Why are you hiding from me?"

The man stepped out from behind the pillar, quite confidently, no longer shrinking back.

His temperament is somewhat similar to Qin Lingchuan's.

Youzhen thought to herself, seeing his enthusiasm, and asked, "Whose side are you on?"

Tao Bei's voice suddenly rang out from behind: "Why are you running around like that?"

As soon as Youzhen turned around, Tao Bei immediately put on a smiling face: "Miss Xia, please don't take offense. I was just worried about the master, so I kept watch outside the door all night and asked him to come and do some chores for me."

This confirms that the young man is Qin Lingchuan's man.

Sure enough, she wondered who was behind the sudden ambush that day.

Judging from the relationship between Qin Lingchuan and Boss Li afterward, it doesn't seem like the Li family was behind it.

Then there is only one possibility—this is a self-inflicted injury plot set up by Qin Lingchuan himself.

The group of men in black that day were Qin Lingchuan's subordinates. By using this method, and with the help of Youzhen, Tao Bei could find him legitimately.

He could also take this opportunity to become even more closely associated with Youzhen.

No wonder he didn't have to go to the guild hall during those days; no wonder he so brazenly placed the documents right under her nose.

The mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind.

The ones who were completely fooled were Zhou Yuanli and themselves.

Youzhen returned to her room somewhat dazed, staring blankly at the clusters of clouds outside her bed. The sudden rain last night, mixed with the scent of earth and grass, now steamed with a resinous mist, like spilled vintage wine. Dewdrops rolled down the leaves, like a beautiful woman shedding tears.

She didn't know how much time had passed, but when she sat curled up in the bright sunlight, she realized that there were marks on her wrists and ankles, and abrasions on her neck.

Youzhen found the first-aid kit and applied the medicine herself in front of the mirror. Qin Lingchuan appeared behind her without her noticing.

Youzhen met his gaze in the mirror and blurted out, "Why are you up? You still hurt..."

She immediately realized that she was just a nobody in his eyes, and probably didn't even deserve his attention.

Qin Lingchuan, with one hand in his pocket, leaned against the wall with a roguish air, glancing at her with a hint of ambiguity and provocation in his eyes: "I'm hungry, I'm getting up to beg for food."

Youzhen glanced at the time and realized that three hours had already passed.

Youzhen felt like her back was on fire from his gaze. She knew what he was going to say, but she didn't want to respond, so she decided to remain silent.

Perhaps he had finally seen enough, Qin Lingchuan spoke, his voice tinged with weariness: "Come here, let me apply the medicine for you."

Youzhen feigned composure: "I'm not injured."

Without a word, Qin Lingchuan picked her up and placed her on the sink. He knelt down to check the red marks on her ankles: "You said you didn't have any, but your clothes are stained red."

The fingertips holding the medicine bottle trembled slightly, and even my breath stopped for a moment, as if I was afraid of shattering something.

Youzhen's eyes flickered, then met his piercing gaze, seeing his long eyelashes and her reflection in his pupils: "You...can see me?"

Qin Lingchuan paused, then said frankly, "Didn't you already know that?"

So from the beginning, he knew her identity and was playing with her like a puppet on a string.

He pretended to be weak so she could take care of him, but he was probably laughing at her in his heart.

The cool ointment was gently applied to the bound area. She didn't feel much pain, just a burning, stinging sensation.

But for some reason, she seemed particularly sensitive to the warmth of Qin Lingchuan's fingertips. The more she tried to hold back, the less she could, and she hissed softly.

Youzhen was in a daze. On the day the stitches were removed, why was Qin Lingchuan so distraught after seeing her face? He called her Youzhen, but she didn't respond. Why was he so disappointed?

His eyes were filled with tears, a testament to the joy of regaining his beloved; she couldn't be mistaken.

Perhaps, from that time on, his eyes were able to see.

This explains why he was so protective of her.

Her mind was in turmoil. She jumped to the ground and pushed Qin Lingchuan away, saying, "Don't treat me like this."

If she keeps doing that, she'll start to believe it.

Qin Lingchuan was puzzled: "Why do you treat me completely differently when I'm lying down and when I'm standing?"

Youzhen mimicked his expression: "I also really want to know, why do you lie to me again every time I think I can trust you?"

"What would I lie to you about?"

"You're quite adept at staging your own self-inflicted injury." She sounded a little guilty, after all, she had used the self-inflicted injury strategy before.

Qin Lingchuan naturally knew what she meant; Tao Bei had told him. However, since Youzhen was with Zhou Yuanli every day, it was inevitable that she would be kept in the dark if she were to use a scheme against Zhou Yuanli.

He reluctantly stepped aside, but Youzhen refused to touch his stomach, which felt like it was being fried in oil.

Yesterday's events seem like stolen dreams.

Fleeting.

The two of them returned to their polite strangers, hesitant to move forward.

Youzhen didn't see anyone else until evening.

Before dinner, Tao Bei suddenly ran over and said that Qin Lingchuan had gone through a miscarriage. She didn't care about anything else and rushed up to the attic.

She was already angry with Tao Bei. She had never been to this place before because there was no electricity and the air smelled of dust that had accumulated over the years.

I don't know if she's watched too many movies, but she always felt that such a stuffy attic must be hiding monsters.

The corridor here connects to the ground floor, and there are many rooms. Tao Bei avoided the important points, and it's unclear which room Qin Lingchuan is in.

She called out a few times, but no one responded.

Could he have fainted?

The more anxious she became, the more unsteady her steps became.

Each time she opened a door, she would block it with the nearest chair or box to let a ray of the morning sun shine in.

A sound suddenly came from behind me, mixed with a restrained cough.

Youzhen immediately ran in that direction. This room was much larger, and it was like a maze with twists and turns. She walked and walked and did not know where she had turned.

The door suddenly slammed shut, and not a single ray of sunlight remained.

The space in front of me suddenly narrowed, becoming claustrophobic and dark, and my uncontrollable bodily reactions were triggered again.

Breathing rapidly and with her heart pounding, Youzhen quickly grabbed onto something to prevent herself from falling.

Those memories from that dark room resurfaced, like the dust in the room; once the balance was broken, they were about to spiral out of control.

Qin Lingchuan suddenly appeared out of nowhere and pulled her close. Youzhen was caught off guard and bumped into his chest.

"Don't be afraid, I'm here."

His large hand gently grasped her cold little hand, and Youzhen buried her head against his chest. Only he could calm her down, and she was reluctant to let go, so she had to calm herself down first.

He patted her back gently, one pat after another, coaxing her softly.

"Breathe, I'm here."

Youzhen clung to the lifeline like a drowning fish grasping at a straw. For a moment, she wanted to leave with him right then and there; revenge was no longer important.

She wanted to return to her original identity and elope with him.

"Youzhen? Do you have claustrophobia?"

One sentence brought her back to reality: this man was still testing her.

She couldn't admit it. If she reverted to her identity as Youzhen and lost her usefulness, Qin Lingchuan probably wouldn't even give her a second glance.

Youzhen pushed him away forcefully and ran towards the door: "I don't want to play this cat-and-mouse game with you anymore. Please stop making jokes like this."

She stumbled and bumped into things several times along the way, and Qin Lingchuan, a step behind her, protected her, saying, "Slow down."

Youzhen pulled the doorknob, but it wouldn't budge. She pulled it again and heard the sound of chains outside.

Qin Lingchuan tried to pull her, but it was to no avail.

"Did someone lock it from the outside?" Qin Lingchuan looked the light coming in from outside up and down.

Youzhen pushed him away: "Stop pretending. Wasn't it all your doing? Are you addicted to lying?"

Qin Lingchuan couldn't stand her distrust: "What do I have to say to make you believe me? I asked Tao Bei to call you up because I wanted to meet you alone. I know you have claustrophobia, why would I deliberately scare you?"

Youzhen glared at him angrily: "I do have claustrophobia, so what? My sister has it too, my aunt has it too. It's not surprising that people from the same family have similar symptoms, right? What else do you want to test me for? Come on."

The sound of high heels rushing upstairs from outside the door sounded like more than one pair.

Aunt Fan's voice rang out: "Are they in here?"

"There's no mistake, I saw Miss Youzhen and that wild man go in with my own eyes. I even locked the door, they can't escape."

Aunt Fan gestured for the door to be opened, and Qin Lingchuan suddenly pulled her into the inner room and took off his shirt without saying a word.

The muscular, bare upper shoulders were hot and smooth, and Youzhen dared not look at them.

Unexpectedly, Qin Lingchuan was even more shy than her, his ears turning completely red.

Youzhen was a bully who preyed on the weak. When she saw a man who was even more shy than her, she became shameless and brazenly sized up his figure, a deliberate sneer playing on her lips.

Qin Lingchuan pressed his lower abdomen against her, and as expected, she was mindful of his unborn child and dared not move.

What are you doing?

Qin Lingchuan freed his hands, pushed her down onto the bed, grabbed her face, and kissed her, swallowing her words completely.

Youzhen's pupils contracted sharply. The door chain was about to be opened. Had Qin Lingchuan gone mad?

His thin back covered their lower bodies, his strong and broad shoulders completely enveloping her.

The latch clicked open, and Aunt Fan recognized Qin Lingchuan's profile first.

Such a sensual scene was not something they could possibly behold. If they stumbled upon Qin Lingchuan's good deed, wouldn't he kill them?

"Yes, yes, I'm so sorry!"

The group then made a rumbling retreat, the sound of high heels echoing in the distance.

"Are you sure you saw Youzhen?" Aunt Fan asked, still shaken.

"I...I saw a woman and a man go inside, and then..."

Aunt Fan glared angrily: "I think you're quite ill; you need to go see an eye doctor!"

"I don't know either. Oh dear, this has caused quite a stir. I hope the young master isn't angry."

Aunt Fan only regretted that these people had lowered her IQ: "If you don't say anything and I don't say anything, how will he know? There are no surveillance cameras upstairs. He'll stick to his guns and deny that it was us just now."

Once it was completely quiet outside, Qin Lingchuan released Youzhen, and immediately felt a burning sensation on his left cheek from the slap.

He gripped her wrist tightly and said angrily, "I'm saving you! Do you want them to see me alone in a room with you?"

In desperation, this was the worst possible course of action.

After calming down and thinking about it, Youzhen realized that it made sense, and her body went limp.

Qin Lingchuan felt that she was no longer resisting his touch, so he released her. He couldn't hold on any longer either; a dull pain shot through his lower abdomen, and he slumped to the side.

Youzhen had noticed it earlier; his lower abdomen was already noticeably protruding, definitely not just three months as Zhou Yuanli had said.

Qin Lingchuan raised his hand to try to cover his large belly, but Youzhen had already taken his hand in front of him.

Her undeniably pregnant belly was prominently displayed before her eyes.

She used to love his strong waist and eight-pack abs, and now she's probably just as disappointed and annoyed.

It's so rare and strange for men to get pregnant.

Will she see herself as an oddball?

What embarrassed him was not only the abrupt bulge, but also the mottled lines.

He didn't know how they grew, and he had been very careful, but many red marks still appeared.

Qin Lingchuan refused to let anyone touch him. He applied medicine to the upper part himself, but since the lower part was not visible, he ignored it.

"You—" Youzhen wanted to examine him, but Qin Lingchuan wouldn't let her touch him: "What, you didn't ask clearly when you were looking at the report before, but now you want to ask?"

He had been keeping it wrapped in bandages, but he had been feeling really uncomfortable these past two days and was afraid of causing a major disaster that he wouldn't be able to explain to Youzhen, so he stopped wrapping it.

Youzhen's impression of him was still based on his eight-pack abs.

Their once firm abdominal muscles are now soft and swollen, and their child is lying inside, being nurtured.

If they had only seen his strong and sexy lower back, they would never have imagined that he had such a round belly hanging in front of him.

If she still harbored a glimmer of hope yesterday, the size of her belly now provides further irrefutable evidence.

The child is hers!

No doubt about it!

"But, but your belly looks..." Before she could finish speaking, she realized what she was saying.

"I didn't expect Mr. Qin to be so concerned about his image."

That makes sense, considering that male models were the ones who appeared on stage back then.

He was showing, but he wasn't ugly.

Youzhen tenderly touched his face: "Silly boy, I don't mind. Don't tie him up anymore, the child can't take it." She paused, pursed her lips, "You can't take it either."

Qin Lingchuan grasped her hand, which she had placed on his abdomen to examine him, and held it in his palm: "You have me in your heart."

On second thought, how could his Youzhen be the kind of person who would make fun of him? The older sister might, but the younger sister would never.

Youzhen went up to her and said, "Of course I have you in my heart."

The affection in her eyes, her concern, and her reaction all seemed genuine.

Qin Lingchuan called her affectionately, "Youzhen."

Youzhen suddenly pulled her hand away: "I am not Youzhen, I am Ruozhen."

"You still won't admit it?" Qin Lingchuan chuckled. "You can't eat spicy food, you're afraid of being put in the dark room, and you have a scar on your back. You are Youzhen!"

"Qin Lingchuan! Can you please stop confusing me with my sister? My sister has a mole on her face, but I don't. After all this time, can't you tell us apart?"

"I know you had your mole removed!"

Qin Lingchuan spoke with certainty, clearly having solid evidence. Youzhen was stunned for a moment; she had deleted all her medical records, so he couldn't possibly find them.

Qin Lingchuan continued, "Zhou Yuanli arranged it for you, right? Of course, he wouldn't let me find any clues. But whether you have that mole or not, you are still Youzhen!"

His rationality prevented him from worrying about Youzhen's fear of the dark, and the lighter in his hand suddenly lit up, illuminating his well-defined features.

"A mole can be removed, but memories can't. The bowl of noodles we ate on that rainy night, and how this child came to be—these things leave no trace in your heart, right?"

Youzhen's lips twitched, and she gritted her teeth and stubbornly insisted, "You've really mistaken me for someone else. I'm your older sister."

Although it was clearly not yet cold, Qin Lingchuan's face was like the surface of water in the dead of winter, without a ripple, frozen solid.

Youzhen was clearly startled. She wanted to help him up, but didn't want to ruin everything at this moment, so she sat stiffly in place.

Qin Lingchuan was so angry that he laughed, but then he felt a tightness in his chest and vomited blood.

"Good! You—" he pointed at her with a trembling hand, "Excellent!"

The lighter clicked a few times, the flame flickering, reflecting his faint, cold thoughts.

The tip of the flame traced the lines of her face, back and forth. If Qin Lingchuan loosened his grip even slightly, she had no doubt that she would be disfigured on the spot.

Using the purest colors, he manipulates the demons under his command.

Qin Lingchuan leaned closer to her, the flames dancing around their noses: "No matter what, I won't allow you to marry another man with this face."

Seeing the blood at the corner of his mouth and his pale face, Youzhen panicked. "Lingchuan! Don't get angry! I'll go get a doctor for you."

Qin Lingchuan grabbed her, refusing to let her leave. He was in so much pain that he couldn't speak, clutching his stomach with one hand, unable to sit still, cold sweat dripping from his forehead into his collar.

Youzhen dared not move and stayed by his side. Her pregnant belly twitched violently, and Qin Lingchuan could not soothe it. He could only endure it and pant heavily.

Youzhen had never seen him in so much pain that he could hardly contain himself. She took out a tissue with one hand to wipe his sweat, and placed the other hand on his stomach in circles: "Don't be angry, I, I'll rub it for you."

"Uh..." Qin Lingchuan sensed something was wrong, a wave of panic washing over him. He gripped the corner of the table so tightly he almost broke off a piece of wood. The veins on his arms bulged, and the sweat from the pain soaked through his shirt, leaving stains even on the back of the chair.

Youzhen also realized that no matter how she tried to soothe and interact with the child, the child wouldn't calm down.

She shouldn't have been so angry with him. Even if he didn't admit it, she should have softened her tone. Seeing the man panting and groaning in pain, her heart ached.

Qin Lingchuan forced himself to speak: "I want Youzhen, not Ruozhen! If you insist on being Ruozhen, then get out!"

Youzhen stumbled from the push: "Qin Lingchuan?"

Why is he still arguing with her at a time like this?

She tried to get closer to him, but Qin Lingchuan smashed a glass on the table, the shards of glass dividing the two of them into a clear boundary.

"If you are true, whether I live or die is none of your business!"

Qin Lingchuan shook off her hand and turned his head away.

Seeing his stubbornness, Youzhen turned her head away as well.

Taking a few deep breaths, she dialed Tao Bei's number.

Tao Bei arrived just in time with Dr. Huang. He knew that his employer's repeated probing would infuriate him, so he had come to Dr. Huang in advance to prepare for the worst.

But as soon as I stepped inside, the phone rang.

The crowd separated the two of them.

When Qin Lingchuan saw that she was really going to leave and refused to turn back, her stubborn body was so strong that even eight horses couldn't pull her back.

He raised his hand and grasped her wrist, without using force, just holding it quietly.

Youzhen was already in tears. She couldn't turn back; she couldn't let all her efforts go to waste at this crucial moment.

Tao Bei supported Qin Lingchuan and pressed him into the wheelchair: "Master, I must stop your bleeding first."

No matter how much her gaze struggled, as long as she stood still, he could only move further and further away.

He couldn't hold her hand; his fingertips finally slipped away.
