Chapter 46 Who is Fang Wangxi at our doorstep!
"Come back quickly, we're leaving," Wen Min shouted to the children surrounding the doll.
The entrance to the mobile service hall is the mall's inner courtyard plaza, which is usually used for various events on weekends.
Today must be some kind of game company doing a promotion. There are many costumed characters of game characters in the square. An Fusheng and his friends came here after buying a mobile phone to replace their SIM cards. The kids couldn't move when they saw these costumed characters.
Fortunately, the entire entrance to the business hall was open, so the adults could see the children playing outside. Therefore, Wen Min let them play outside.
These game characters are all anthropomorphic animals. Among the children, except for Bai Mangmang, none of the others are as tall as the doll's thigh. However, this does not stop them from hugging the doll's legs and playing with it. And they are not the only children like this.
Wenmin called several times before the children reluctantly returned.
An Shisi asked, "Are we really leaving?"
Wen Min: "Yes, let's go buy something for our younger brother."
Next, the family went to a maternity and baby store to buy daily necessities and changes of clothes for Wen Xinglan.
"Mommy Wen, look, I have a bunny lollipop!" Wen Xingmou proudly held up a pink bunny-shaped lollipop.
"Was it the candy from Sister Rabbit?" Wen Min remembered that there was a pink rabbit among the dolls.
"Yes, it is." Wen Xingmou said quite proudly, "Sister Rabbit is Sister Wen Yue."
"Sister Wen Yue?" Wen Min asked.
"Yes, Sister Wenyue lives in the rabbit house, and only I know. She said not to tell anyone." Wen Xingmou waved her lollipop and jumped around. "When I grow up, I want to live in the rabbit house too."
"I want to become a giant milk dragon." An Shisi immediately emphasized his wish.
Wen Min and Lou Lan exchanged a glance but said nothing.
Wen Yue grew up in Xingchen Welfare Home and left after graduating from university last year. Everyone in this city is in the same city, so it's normal to run into each other. However, children who leave the welfare home don't contact it on their own initiative, and the welfare home doesn't bother them either.
The family entered the maternity and baby store. The store was very large, with a wide variety of products. The children couldn't take it all in, but they were all well-behaved and didn't run around.
Because Wen's mother said she was here to buy things for her younger brother, everyone was looking at what he might need. When they saw something cute or fun, they would ask, "Wen's mother, what is this? Does your brother need it?"
“This dress is for little girls, it’s too big for little boys.” Wen Min looked at the blue princess dress that Wen Xingmou was holding with a wry smile.
"Alright then, let's wait until we have a little sister before we buy it." Wen Xingmou reluctantly hung the dress back in its place, carefully smoothing out the wrinkles she had rubbed.
"Mommy Wen, can you buy this for my little brother?" Bai Mangmang ran over holding up a strawberry bear onesie. "This is so cute!"
"No, this is red. Only girls wear red clothes," An Shisi shouted.
A waiter who was tidying up the shelves nearby overheard An Shisi's words and chimed in, "Boys can wear red too, Strawberry Bear is so cute."
Wen Min also thought the strawberry bear was especially cute. "Let's see if this size fits my little brother."
Bai Mangmang quickly pulled Wen Xinglan, who was captivated by the plush toy, over to demonstrate, "It's possible."
After speaking to Wen Min, he turned to Wen Xinglan and asked, "Little brother, do you think the Strawberry Bear is cute?"
“%*#& Is it good, look?” Wen Xinglan looked at the white expanse and repeated.
Bai Mangmang patted Wen Xinglan's shoulder: "It looks good."
Strawberry Bear purchase successful.
Later, at An Shisi's insistence, he bought his younger brother a set of Nailong onesie pajamas.
After shopping at the maternity and baby store, it was lunchtime.
"Shall we eat out today?" Wen Min asked. "What would everyone like to eat?"
No matter how delicious the food at home is, it can never compare to the excitement and novelty of eating out. As soon as they heard that they were going to eat out, the children were overjoyed.
"I want to eat... um... I want to eat lots and lots of things." Wen Xingmou raised her hand the fastest.
"What do you mean by 'lots and lots'?" Lou Lan asked.
The children don't eat out very often. They know there are many delicious foods outside, but they can't say exactly what they are or what they are called.
“Since we’re going to eat a lot of food, let’s go to a buffet. They have everything,” Wen Min said. “There’s a buffet restaurant right across the street.”
"Yay!" the children agreed in unison. Through the restaurant's glass, they could already see lots and lots of delicious food inside.
Sure enough, the children were dazzled by the wide variety of food as soon as they entered.
The family found a table, and Lou Lan stayed behind to look after the children who had difficulty moving around, while Wen Min and An Fusheng took the children to get food.
The children's plates included pink cat plates, gray kangaroo plates, and blue dolphin plates. Wen Min distributed the plates to the children according to their requests and instructed them, "First of all, it's okay not to leave food uneaten here, so we can only take what we like to eat, but don't take too much, okay? Otherwise, if you take something you don't want to eat or take too much and can't finish it, others will laugh at you."
"I understand!" An Shisi said. "You can't leave any food uneaten. My teacher Zhang said that finishing your food is what makes you the best baby."
“Yes,” Wen Min said. “Let’s all learn from Fourteen and be the best babies, okay?”
"OK."
After taking their plates, everyone began to choose their food.
This was the first time An Fusheng had ever seen so much food. He had never seen many of these foods before, and they all looked so delicious. Like the children, he wandered through the world of food with curiosity and joy.
Wen Min had hoped that An Fusheng would help stop the children from taking less stuff, but he turned out to be even harder to control than the children. The children were too short to reach what they wanted on their own and had to ask the adults for help. An Fusheng, on the other hand, would take a little bit of anything that looked nice or that he had never seen before. A plate was already piled up to the brim after only moving a small area.
"Don't take everything. There are other things ahead. Don't take all of the same type either," Wen Min kept reminding her.
"Oh, okay." An Fusheng silently withdrew his hand from the mango pudding; his plate already contained strawberry pudding, blueberry pudding, and orange pudding.
After going around the table, everyone returned with plates full of food to enjoy their meal.
"Mom, this buffet restaurant is great! Let's come back next time!" Wen Xingmou said, eating a small, cute cake.
"good."
"Mother Wen, what is this?" An Shisi asked.
"Cheesecake".
What is cheese?
"It's a type of ingredient."
Bai Mangmang: "Mommy Wen, what is this?"
"It's popcorn chicken."
Wen Xinglin: "Mom, what is this?"
"This taro and pork floss UFO." An Fusheng had just made a point of remembering its name.
Wen Xinglin: "My flying saucer tastes delicious."
Bai Mangmang: "The ice cream here is delicious too."
An Fusheng: "Scallops are also delicious."
...
By the end of the meal, everyone had tried their best to finish the food they had taken, except for Wen Xingmou, who still had a small half bowl of honey-flavored glutinous rice balls left and couldn't finish them.
Wen Min looked at her leisurely: "I told you we can't leave any leftovers."
Wen Xingmou stirred the food in the bowl a few times with her spoon, clearly not wanting to eat anymore. "Can I take it home to eat?"
"Can't."
"Why? I didn't intend to waste it!"
"This is the restaurant's rule. You have to finish eating in the restaurant before you can leave. When we come to eat at someone else's restaurant, we have to follow their rules."
Wen Xingmou looked around at everyone, "Big brother, can you help me eat this?"
An Fusheng: "I'm already full." And I ate a lot of sweets, so I feel really greasy now.
Seeing her younger brother looking at her, Wen Xingmou asked expectantly, "Little brother, do you want to eat my little glutinous rice balls?"
"My little brother can't eat small glutinous rice balls," Lou Lan stopped her. "He's still young, and he might choke if he eats them."
"Oh." Wen Xingmou looked at Wen Xingrui, who was diligently picking up and eating French fries. "Brother Xingrui, do you like to eat small glutinous rice balls? These glutinous rice balls are sweet."
"This is incredible! Xingmou is calling Xingrui 'brother' now." Wen Min whispered to Lou Lan, who smiled secretly.
Wen Xingrui was particularly sensitive to the word "brother." He paused abruptly as he picked up the fries, looked up at Wen Xingmou, and smiled, "Princess."
Lou Lan and Wen Min were surprised.
"Xingrui can talk?" Wen Min asked.
Lou Lan nodded, "It seems so."
Wen Min: "What did we miss?"
An Fusheng calmly said, "Yesterday I told him that if he doesn't learn to talk and walk, I'll have Xiao Ba call him 'little brother,' and he did, but it seems he can only call me 'big brother.'"
"Not bad, Fu Zai. In just a few days, you've trained Xing Rui to walk and talk properly," Wen Min teased.
An Fusheng scratched the back of his head. "It was Lou's mother who told me that Xingrui understands everything. Last time when we were making dumplings, Xingrui was crawling on the ground and came back as soon as you yelled at him. He can understand what we're saying, right?"
Lou Lan: "...It seems she really understands."
Wen Xingrui eventually finished off Wen Xingmou's half bowl of honey dumplings.
Everyone behaved very well at lunch, and as a reward, Wenmin announced after lunch that he would take them to the large ball pit in the center of the mall.
The children were absolutely thrilled and ran towards the ball pit like a whirlwind.
When the ball pit owner saw a group of children running over, he smiled and counted heads in his mind.
And so, the family played until four o'clock in the afternoon before going home.
On the way home, Wen Xingmou and Wen Xinglan were asleep, one on An Fusheng's back and the other in the stroller. The others were still excited and chattered all the way, even Wen Xingrui, who was sitting in the stroller, would occasionally chime in with "ah ah".
...
“The orphanage is closed on Saturday and won’t accept any children.” Fang’s mother said, half-coaxing and half-threatening, “Do you want to reconsider coming home with me? You only have one chance. If you don’t come back today, you won’t be able to come back later.”
Fang Wangxi hugged the rusty iron gate of the welfare home with both hands, and said with a determined look, "I've run away from home, and I'm never going back."
Fang's mother crossed her arms and sneered, "Fine, you've run away from home and you're never coming back. Well then, my sister and I are going home."
"No, my sister is mine!" Fang Wangxi remembered the scene of two adults fighting over a child on TV last night. She hugged her sister tightly and shouted, "Don't take my sister away!"
"Why only your sister? She's my daughter." Mrs. Fang almost laughed out of anger. "Get out of my way and don't stop me from taking my daughter home."
"She's my sister!" Fang Wangxi shouted.
"My daughter!"
"My sister!"
An Fusheng saw someone in the distance at the entrance of the welfare home: "Hey, who's at our door?"
"Let me see." An Shisi ran forward, but it was too far to see clearly, so he ran a little further. "Huh?"
"Fang Wangxi!" An Shisi shouted as he ran forward.
