Chapter 75 The Third Brother Gets Married

Ye Xiaoxiao hadn't intended to move forward, thinking it was better to avoid trouble. Today was Sun Dashifeijing's wedding, so she wouldn't argue with her. But since this girl had come to join in the fun, she wasn't going to be polite.

"Alright, it's no big deal. One yuan each, go buy some food."

Ye Xiaoxiao gave each of her two younger brothers a dollar in front of everyone. This made the relatives of the Sun family turn pale.

She didn't care about any of that. The sixth and seventh brothers, on the other hand, were really greedy for money. They immediately started circling around Hao Hao, overjoyed.

"Sister-in-law, you are so generous. Unlike some people." Li Yaqin was also young and not yet married.

"You're not a child anymore, why bother with these things? It's just a wedding, don't cause any trouble."

Ye Xiaoxiao said these words right at the door of the new house, and they reached Sun Xiuju's ears word for word.

Even if Sun Xiuju is angry, what can she do? Today is her wedding day. Everyone is watching. They were already in the wrong, and if they make a scene any further, they'll only become a laughingstock.

"What my sister-in-law said is true, it was just a joke. Who knew they were so young and had such a temper?" The speaker was probably Sun Xiuju's younger sister. This implied that the Li family was in the wrong again.

"That's true, but don't take it to heart. Our kids are twelve, still young. Don't get angry with them; they're not as sensible as you are." Ye Xiaoxiao praised the Sun sisters, which made the sisters blush even more. It was a veiled criticism that they, at their age, were no different from those little brats.

The younger sister wanted to argue back after hearing this, but her older sister stopped her.

Ye Xiaoxiao turned to look at her son, but after a while, she said she wanted to hang a curtain for the new house. It was their family's turn again. According to custom, it was still Li Zhonghao's responsibility. They were going to make a scene anyway, but when the curtain was stuffed into Ye Xiaoxiao's arms, everyone egged her on to continue the commotion.

Ye Xiaoxiao, holding the child, called Li Chenyang over.

Li Chenyang thought they were about to start teasing his new bride. He was delighted when everyone stuffed several nails and a hammer into his hands. Normally, you'd get a red envelope for each nail you hammered in.

When Sun Xiuju and her sisters arrived, everyone clamored for them to give them red envelopes, but the Sun sisters refused, saying they would give them money after the red envelopes were made. Although they said that, they still wanted to make a fuss.

The three sisters were still a little worried about what had just happened, and thought they would just make a fuss and give out the red envelopes.

Ye Xiaoxiao nudged Li Chenyang: "Nail it on, nail it all on. We're all grown up, otherwise people will say we're stingy." Ye Xiaoxiao's words silenced the entire room.

Li Chenyang looked at his new wife and then at his own wife. He didn't understand what was going on.

"I told you to nail it, what are you looking at? You're the older brother, be more magnanimous, why are you arguing with your sister-in-law?"

"Is it really nailed?" Li Chenyang asked, seeing his wife glaring at him. He was there to stand in for his son; it shouldn't have been his job.

“Ding, once it’s nailed up, my son can hang the curtain and that’ll be the end of it. It’ll also allow my sister-in-law to get some rest.”

The three sisters from the Sun family were a bit confused; what kind of scheme was this?

Sun Xiuju's eldest sister, Sun Xiumei, was anxious. Seeing that the three nails were in place, Ye Xiaoxiao was about to hold the child and hang the door curtain for them. She quickly stuffed a red envelope into Ye Xiaoxiao's hand.

“Sister-in-law, look at you, why are you still angry? What is owed to the child should definitely be given to him.”

Sun Xiumei was afraid that if the curtain was hung up today, her sister would be labeled as stingy.

"No need, no need, our Hao Hao doesn't need it, he doesn't know how to spend money yet, you can keep it!"

The situation has suddenly reversed. Usually, it's the husband's family asking the wife's family for money, but now it's Sun Xiumei begging Ye Xiaoxiao to accept red envelopes.

"Yes, yes, sister-in-law, you've worked so hard, you must accept this red envelope."

Ye Xiaoxiao glanced at the red envelope in Sun Xiumei's hand:

"Since you're so sincere, I'll hang up two curtains first," Ye Xiaoxiao said, and was about to pick up her child to hang the curtains.

When Sun Xiumei saw that Ye Xiaoxiao thought she hadn't given enough, she immediately took out five red envelopes from her bag and handed them all over to her.

This time, Ye Xiaoxiao didn't refuse and immediately put it away.

"Oh my, my sister-in-law's family is so generous."

Ye Xiaoxiao touched the red envelope; two of the coins were actually five cents. How stingy!

Sun Xiumei knew exactly what was inside. It didn't even add up to five cents.

Sweat was pouring down my face. I had received so many red envelopes, each worth only 50 cents, while all the red envelopes they had given out totaled less than a dollar.

Once the curtains are hung up, things are pretty much done.

Ye Xiaoxiao took her son to her seat. She then distributed the five red envelopes to her younger siblings.

The sixth and seventh brothers followed their eldest sister-in-law around, saying that she was the best to them.

[Complete the mission of standing up for your brother-in-law; reward: 20 yuan.]

[So, you're paying me back tenfold, huh? Not bad. I should have just given them both ten yuan each. You owe me two hundred.]

Everyone just laughed at Ye Xiaoxiao and her friends' little squabbles. It was just a matter of who could get the better of whom. As long as it didn't really escalate into a full-blown conflict, that was fine.

If you had given each person ten yuan, do you think Sun Xiuju would have made a huge scene against you today?

Ye Xiaoxiao shook her head at the thought. Giving them ten yuan would be blatantly humiliating them. Even if it wasn't her fault, it would still be her fault.

Overall, things went fairly well today, unlike the last time when it caused such a huge embarrassment.

After being warned by her mother-in-law, Li Yanhong stopped causing trouble.

Sun Xiuju didn't have time to cause trouble for Li Yanhong today. It ended peacefully, to say the least.
