The woman got up and tried to run away, but was stopped. She started yelling and protesting, "What does this have to do with me! That woman hit me!"
Ye Xiaoxiao sneered, "Everyone saw that! This is a human trafficker! He tried to snatch my child, and he even tried to pull out a knife!"
The man's fist was still being squeezed by her, and he was in so much pain that he couldn't speak, only whimpering.
"Let me go!" the man yelled, his hand still damp with sedatives. If he were caught by the train police, he wouldn't be able to explain himself. He just needed to quickly disperse the powder in his hand so he could claim the woman was crazy. He could turn the tables on her.
Just then, Li Chenyang finally returned. Seeing the scene, he rushed over without a word, ready to beat someone up. Ye Xiaoxiao quickly stopped him: "Don't do it! Wait for the train conductor! Someone has already gone to look for him."
Li Chenyang suppressed his anger, stood in front of his wife and child, and glared at the couple: "What are you doing?"
Ye Xiaoxiao kicked Li Chenyang with her leg: "Hold the child first."
After Li Chenyang took the child, Ye Xiaoxiao finally felt relieved. She still gripped the man's fist tightly, and with her other hand, she slammed it down on him.
"This... how did they end up fighting?" Someone couldn't stand it anymore, because all they had seen from beginning to end was Ye Xiaoxiao holding the man's hand, while the man's other hand was still bleeding profusely.
"Ah! Let me go, you lunatic! I was just sitting there peacefully, and she started hitting me! She even called me a human trafficker! What kind of person is she? Everyone, please help me! She's going to break my hand!" The man immediately screamed in agony. He'd met his match today. Who would have thought a woman could be so strong?
The train conductor arrived quickly, accompanied by two medics. They had been in the front carriage when a woman who had lost her bag, saying it contained her money, rushed over upon hearing about the incident.
"What's going on?" the train conductor asked, as the lights in the carriage were turned on. The train was still moving.
The surrounding passengers started talking all at once. Seeing that he had been caught, the man suddenly shouted, "It was her! She hit me first! She broke my hand! Tell her to let go!"
"What's wrong with you?" A tall, burly train conductor looked at Ye Xiaoxiao. They were also wondering why Ye Xiaoxiao, who looked like just a pretty young girl, was squeezing the man so hard with one hand.
“It wasn’t that I insisted on holding his hand, but there was something in it. I suspect it was a sedative. And there was that woman too,”
Ye Xiaoxiao pointed to the woman who had been pinned to the ground by the enthusiastic crowd.
"They just tried to snatch my child. I saw the man take something out of his bag, so I held on to prevent him from letting go. I was afraid that if he let go, even one person in our group would be caught. What if they stole our money while they were in a daze? Who knows if they have accomplices?"
Upon hearing this, everyone reached for the bags containing their money.
"The little girl is right, don't let go yet. Handcuff them first."
"Yes, don't let go. Find some clothes to cover that hand before letting go," someone shouted.
Upon hearing this, the train attendant became cautious. Although it was just a small amount of sleeping pills, who knew if it was real? It was better to be safe than sorry. The female train attendant next to her immediately took off her coat and wrapped it around the two people's clasped hands.
After wrapping the wound, Ye Xiaoxiao didn't easily let go of the man. Instead, she grabbed his wrist with her other hand, controlling his open hand to prevent him from moving.
The man glared at them fiercely the whole time.
When everyone saw the white powder that was revealed after the clothes were removed, they all took several steps back.
There wasn't much else to say after that; both of them were handcuffed.
Li Chenyang, carrying his son and daughter-in-law, followed them over and asked them some questions.
When they returned, those people kept asking them questions.
"How did it go? How were those people dealt with? They were utterly heartless!" an older woman pressed.
They said they'd hand it over to the station police at the next stop!
Ye Xiaoxiao finally breathed a sigh of relief and sat down. She leaned weakly against Li Chenyang's chest. Li Zhonghao was startled awake and burst into tears.
Shortly after the human traffickers were taken away, an announcement suddenly came over the loudspeaker in the train carriage:
"Dear passengers, just now in carriage 7, a colleague surnamed Ye assisted us in apprehending two human traffickers. These two criminals have recently been committing crimes at multiple stations, specifically targeting young women with children. On behalf of the railway department, we thank Comrade Ye Xiaoxiao for her courageous act. Please continue to be vigilant, help each other, and work together to maintain order on the train..."
A round of enthusiastic applause erupted in the carriage. Li Chenyang hugged his wife, feeling both moved and lingering fear.
At that moment, the system's reward notification sound also arrived.
[The task is to hand the human trafficker over to the train police; the reward is 1000 yuan.]
Ye Xiaoxiao was surprised to hear that the reward was money. She thought it was good; their family probably didn't lack food anymore. It would be good to leave some money for them. This was a practical thing to do.
When they arrived at Dongshan Station, they were about to get off the train when they were stopped by two policemen:
"Please wait a moment, Comrade Li, Comrade Ye. Please come with us to the police station."
Seeing Ye Xiaoxiao's nervous expression, an older policeman quickly explained, "Don't worry, it's about commendation. The interrogation just now revealed that this group has accomplices. For your safety, please rest with us tonight. You can leave after dawn."
Upon arriving at the police station, the officers poured them hot water and had someone buy them a late-night snack. The station chief personally presented Ye Xiaoxiao with a certificate of bravery and a 200 yuan reward.
