Chapter 105: Discovering the Cave

An old comrade holding a hunting rifle stood firmly on the mountain road that Qin Wan had to pass, like an indestructible fortress.

Her tall and straight figure seemed to blend into the surrounding mountains and forests, yet she exuded an invisible majesty, abruptly blocking her way forward.

Seeing this, Qin Wan had to stop his hurried steps and look at the mysterious and serious old man in front of him.

She nodded slightly and asked politely, "Old man, you blocked my way, but is there anything you want to tell me?" Her voice was clear and pleasant, like a clear spring flowing through the mountains.

The old man smiled amiably, sizing up the pretty young woman with a determined look before him, and said slowly:

"Girl, I see you're heading deep into the mountains. So I'm waiting here to give you a heads-up."

He paused, his tone becoming more serious. "You must be the new educated youth here, right?"

Qin Wan nodded slightly to indicate his agreement.

Seeing this, the old man continued:

"Seeing you walking alone deep into the mountains, I was really worried! You have to know that the mountains are not a place to play around in. They are full of unknown dangers. Ferocious beasts like wild boars, bears, and tigers often roam there. If you encounter them, not to mention a delicate little girl like you, even an old man like me, who has experienced many battles and has a hunting rifle in hand, would dare not set foot there easily! If you are not careful, you might even lose your life there..."

At this point, the old man couldn't help but frown and looked at Qin Wan with disapproval.

Qin Wan: "Thank you for the reminder, old comrade. I know what I am doing. I will just take a look inside and leave."

After saying that, she walked around the worried old man without hesitation and went up the mountain resolutely.

The old man shook his head helplessly, sighed deeply, and muttered to himself:

"These young people really don't know their limits. They are simply stubborn and won't listen to any good or bad advice! Sigh..."

Qin Wan walked into the mountains without looking back. At first, what caught his eye were just a few more dry branches than on the outer mountains.

However, as she continued to go deeper into the forest, the situation gradually changed - she began to notice more and more animal feces on the ground. Moreover, the further she went into the mountains, the more dense the feces became.

"As expected, there are even richer resources hidden in these deep mountains." Qin Wan thought to himself.

As we walked forward, the trees around us grew taller and thicker, and the weeds grew even more lush, interweaving deep and shallow, completely obscuring the originally narrow mountain path. If we didn't look closely, we would probably have hardly noticed the existence of this path.

She casually picked up a few thick and sturdy dead branches and carefully put them into her own space, then continued forward with firm steps.

Suddenly, in a patch of lush weeds, she was pleasantly surprised to find a large patch of bright red wolfberries, which were as dazzling as the colorful clouds in the sky.

Thinking of the relevant content recorded in the ancient medical book he was studying, Qin Wan's eyes instantly shone brightly.

The book says, "Goji berries are a Chinese medicinal material with the functions of nourishing the kidneys, moistening the lungs, tonifying the liver, and improving eyesight. They can treat liver and kidney yin deficiency, soreness of the waist and knees, dizziness, blurred vision, excessive tears, consumptive cough, thirst, and spermatorrhea. They can be used as both medicine and food, and long-term use can strengthen muscles and bones, make the body light and prevent aging, and be resistant to cold and heat."

This is simply a priceless treasure! She couldn't help but sigh with emotion.

She hurried forward and began picking the berries eagerly. However, although the berries looked bright red and attractive, she discovered the difficulties involved when she actually started picking them.

After just a short while of picking, she felt irritated. If she were to finish picking all the goji berries, she'd probably spend the entire day doing it. How would she have the energy to do anything else?

Thinking of this, she simply stopped picking the fruits carefully and directly picked the whole wolfberry plant with its roots and branches and put it into the space.

She was once again filled with gratitude for her decision. Only in this deep forest could one find such high-quality and abundant wolfberries. If they were outside the mountains, these precious resources would have long been harvested, leaving even a trace of them untapped.

After picking wolfberries, Qin Wan had just taken a few steps when his eyes were attracted by the scene in front of him - it turned out to be a dense chestnut forest!

Delicious chestnut cakes and fragrant sugar-roasted chestnuts instantly appeared in her mind, making her salivate.

She ran over quickly and happily put all the harvest into her magical space again.

In this way, Qin Wan continued to collect various treasures along the way, while moving forward with great interest.

However, the long walk made her feel a little exhausted, so she decided to find an open place to rest for a while.

At this moment, a familiar "bleating" sound of sheep came from the grass not far away, and she immediately realized what it meant.

She looked in the direction of the sound and saw a little goat having fun behind an old goat.

Thinking of the tender lamb, Qin Wan's mouth suddenly began to liquidize again.

She can't let these two fat sheep go!

Thinking of this, she squatted down like an agile cheetah, her eyes fixed on the ground, while her hands groped the ground quickly and accurately.
