Chapter 166 Three in One

"Everyone follow me and stay alert." Lu Yu led the soldiers towards the target direction.

They walked cautiously, weapons tightly in their hands, ready to deal with any possible danger at any time.

"Report to the captain, nothing unusual was found here." A soldier ran over to report to Lu Yu.

"Report to the captain, nothing unusual was found here." Another soldier ran over to report to Lu Yu.

"Report to the Captain..."

"Report……"

Group after group of team members kept coming back to report, all saying that nothing unusual was found.

Lu Yu nodded and continued to order:

"Continue searching and don't miss any clues."

"Yes, Captain!"

After a while, another soldier came and reported:

"Captain, we have searched the entire barracks, but we still can't find any trace of Commander Li's grandson."

Lu Yu frowned, a sense of foreboding welling up in his heart. If they couldn't find the child, Master Li and his wife would likely suffer a mental breakdown from the unbearable pressure. After all, that child was Master Li and his wife's only hope and only source of life.

"Search again! Expand the scope. Even if we have to dig three feet into the ground, we must find the child!" Lu Yu's voice echoed in the night sky with unquestionable determination.

"yes!"

Just when everyone was extremely anxious, a soldier suddenly reported: "Captain! Something unusual has been discovered on the mountain near our base."

Upon hearing this, Lu Yu frowned slightly and immediately followed the soldier and ran in the direction the soldier had just pointed.

When he ran to the place, the soldiers had already surrounded it.

Lu Yu walked over, observed it carefully, and asked:

"Why don't you go in?"

The captain of this team stepped forward, saluted Lu Yu and said:

"General, this cave is very hidden. The entrance is covered by a huge stone slab. One of our soldiers noticed blood on the edge of the slab while urinating. We tried to lift it, but it was too heavy. Even with the combined strength of more than a dozen of us, we could only barely move it aside. We are currently waiting for the methane gas in the cave to dissipate!"

Lu Yu nodded. He was a former special forces soldier, so of course he knew that a cave that had been closed for a long time would produce methane, and entering it rashly would be life-threatening.

Then he slowly approached the cave, cautiously extended his right hand, and tentatively touched the entrance, feeling for any wind blowing out. Sure enough, a faint breeze blew towards him, which made him feel a little relieved.

"You can go in now," he whispered, his voice steady and confident. Then, without hesitation, he walked into the cave first.

As soon as they entered the cave, a chilling atmosphere washed over them, as if countless pairs of eyes were watching them from the darkness. The air was filled with a chilly dampness, and the ground was wet, making them feel as if they were in an ice cellar.

Lu Yu walked at the front of the team, holding a flashlight. The faint light swayed in the darkness like a lonely star.

Everyone followed closely, each step filled with caution and vigilance. Their eyes scanned every corner, not wanting to miss any corner where danger might hide. At this moment, they had only one firm belief in their hearts: find the children!

After a long and tense journey, they finally reached the end of the cave. The scene before them startled them:

A spacious basement appeared before their eyes, filled with all kinds of strange instruments and medicine bottles, emitting a disgusting smell. However, to their disappointment, there were no children here.

Everyone dispersed and began to search the basement carefully. They turned over those strange instruments and checked every corner, hoping to find some clues. But after all their efforts, they still found nothing.

"That shouldn't be the case!" Lu Yu muttered to himself, his brow furrowed and a look of confusion on his face. As he pondered, he gently tapped the cave wall, trying to find any hidden mechanisms or passages.

His eyes were focused and sharp, not missing any details.

Qin Wan hid in the dark and had been controlling the actions of these people with her mental power. When she saw this, she knew that everything was seamlessly connected, so she felt relieved.

At this moment, her face was as pale as paper, her body was shaking slightly, as if she would fall down at any time, and her mental strength was almost exhausted.

She struggled to slip into the space, barely managed to walk to the spiritual spring, grabbed a cup, took the spiritual spring with trembling hands, drank it all, and then fell asleep.

Meanwhile, Lu Yu had no idea that his wife was completely exhausted for him. He was still pondering, tapping the cave wall with his fingers, trying to find some clues.

Suddenly, his sharp eyes caught sight of a small crack in the wall. This place seemed to hold some secrets, perhaps a darkroom.

He quickly perked up and looked carefully, and asked everyone to open their eyes and look at the wall of the cave to see if there was anything different.

Everyone immediately followed his example and started knocking on the cave wall. Suddenly, a crisp metallic sound came, attracting everyone's attention.

After a careful examination, they finally found a door with an iron ring on it.

Lu Yu grabbed the iron ring with great strength, but the door did not move at all. Instead, the dirt in the gap fell down.

He blinked his eyes and waved his hand. When the dust settled, he pushed hard again and a piece of stone slab was pushed open.

When I reached the door, wow, there was a bigger and more spacious cave inside.
