Chapter 188 Capturing the Spy

Lu Yu led his team and, carrying the tied-up Matsushita, set off on their journey home, his heart filled with determination and anticipation for the future.

Because they know that as long as there is light in their hearts, darkness will never swallow them.

As the person in charge of this mission, the first thing Lu Yu did after returning to the army was to report his work to his superiors, and the second thing was to go home to find his wife.

The moment Lu Yu opened the door, time seemed to freeze. The house was silent, broken only by the occasional bird song outside the window.

He gently put down his backpack, changed his shoes, and tried not to make any noise with every step, for fear of disturbing the peace and tranquility at home that he had longed for.

Over the past half month, he led his team deep behind enemy lines and completed an almost impossible mission. He not only collected crucial intelligence, but also successfully destroyed an important enemy stronghold.

The task was arduous and dangerous, but whenever it was late at night and he lay in the simple camp, Lu Yu would always think of his wife's smiling face, which was his greatest motivation to persevere.

Thinking of his wife, Lu Yu felt a warm feeling in his heart, and the corners of his mouth rose unconsciously.

When he got home, he didn't see his wife. Instead of rushing to look for her, he opened the cupboard and saw a few side dishes neatly arranged inside, along with a thermos box and steamed buns in a steamed bun basket.

He opened the thermos box and found warm chicken soup inside. He knew without a doubt that it must have been prepared specially for him by Wan Wan. His wife always said that drinking more chicken soup can nourish the body.

He ate the still hot food in big mouthfuls, sitting at the dining table, thinking about every detail of the mission while eating. He felt a sense of accomplishment but also deep guilt towards his wife.

After dinner, Lu Yu went to the backyard to find his wife.

At this time, Qin Wan was squatting in the backyard, carefully tending to the lush green vegetables. She gently brushed over each leaf, as if she was talking to these little lives.

The sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves and shone onto her, casting a faint golden glow on this gentle woman. Under her care, the vegetables grew exceptionally strong, lush, and full of vitality.

Suddenly, she heard the soft sound of the courtyard gate opening. Looking up, she saw Lu Yu standing at the backyard entrance. Though dusty and exhausted, he didn't look shabby. His eyes gleamed with unconcealable joy and excitement. Their gazes met in mid-air, and in that moment, the whole world seemed to stop.

The small shovel in Qin Wan's hand fell to the ground unconsciously. She stood up, gently twisted the corners of her clothes with her hands, and a smile as beautiful as a flower bloomed on her face.

Lu Yu strode over and hugged her tightly in his arms, as if he wanted to rub her into his body.

"Wan'er, I'm back."

His voice was low and magnetic, with a hint of hoarseness, which was the fatigue and affection unique to a long journey.

Qin Wan snuggled in his arms, feeling the familiar and warm breath, and her eyes couldn't help but become moist.

"You're finally back. I missed you so much." As she spoke, two lines of tears flowed from the corners of her eyes.

Her voice was as thin as a mosquito, but Lu Yu took Qin Wan's words seriously.

Lu Yu lowered his head, gently kissed away the tears from the corners of her eyes, then held her face and gazed at her affectionately.

"I miss you too. I miss you so much that I'm going crazy." His eyes were full of love and desire, as if he wanted to swallow her whole.

As the saying goes, a short separation is better than a new marriage. The two of us looked at each other, and in the end, I didn’t know who seduced whom, but the two of us hugged each other as if struck by lightning.

The emotions between the two reached their peak at this moment. No words were needed. Just a look and a hug were enough to understand the deep affection and desire in each other's hearts.

They walked into the house hugging each other, closed the door, and blocked out the outside world.

Inside the house, only the sounds of their breath and heartbeats intertwined to form a beautiful melody.

When everything calmed down, the two of them snuggled up in bed, smiling at each other. Qin Wan gently stroked Lu Yu's face, her eyes full of tenderness.

"You've lost weight and become darker."

Lu Yu held her hand, put it to his lips and kissed it gently.

"It doesn't matter, as long as I can see you, everything is worth it."

They just lay there quietly, enjoying this rare tranquility and warmth.

Outside the window, the wind gently blew the leaves, and the rustling sound, like their beautiful memories, filled the entire room, adding a bit of romance and sweetness to the couple who had reunited after a long separation.

Lu Yu is back, and life seems to be back on track.

Lu Yu practiced every day, his posture was strong and his spirit was vigorous, while Qin Wan was busy at home, occasionally chatting with others and enjoying his leisure time. However, life is always full of changes, and the peaceful days did not last long.

Qin Wan likes to go hunting in the mountains. This is both her hobby and a way for her to practice.

The air in the mountains is fresh, the water is gurgling, the birds are singing, and the mountain flowers are in full bloom. Such beautiful scenery is the best place for cultivation for a wood-type mutant like her.

On this day, as usual, she carried her backpack and set out on the mountain journey again.

Along the way, she felt the fragrance of flowers and the chirping of birds in late spring, as well as the open-mindedness and mellowness of nature, and she was so happy that she almost flew away.

As soon as she entered the mountains, she felt like a fish entering water or a tiger returning to the mountains. She was very happy and gained a lot.

She had shot a pheasant soon after entering the mountains, and was just thinking about the aroma of the chicken stewed with mushrooms when a hare ran away from under her feet.
