Lu Yu grew more courageous as the battle progressed. His swordsmanship was like a torrential downpour, uninterrupted and unending. Every swing of his sword was accompanied by a sound of piercing the air, forcing Kurokawa Ichiro to concentrate fully on his response.
However, Kurokawa Ichiro was no ordinary warrior. His swordsmanship was equally exquisite, and each swing of his blade seemed to sever any obstacle. The two exchanged blows, the battle becoming a close one.
As time went by, Lu Yu gradually discovered Kurokawa Ichiro's flaws.
He took advantage of the opponent's attack error, jumped up suddenly, and stabbed the opponent's chest with the sword in his hand like lightning.
Kurokawa Ichiro was horrified. He hadn't expected Lu Yu to find his weakness. He tried his best to dodge, but he was still a step too slow.
With a soft sound of "Puff!", Lu Yu's sword had already pierced Kurokawa Ichiro's chest. A trace of unwillingness and despair flashed in Kurokawa Ichiro's eyes. He slowly fell down, and his body gradually lost its temperature.
The other island hermits were horrified upon seeing this. They had never imagined that their leader would be killed by Lu Yu. They glared at Lu Yu, ready to capture him at any moment.
Lu Yu was not interested in fighting. He knew very well that his current mission was to notify the army as soon as possible.
He looked at Kurokawa Ichiro's body, and a complex emotion surged in his heart. He knew that this battle was just the beginning, and greater challenges were still waiting for him.
He put away his sword, turned around and ran away. He knew that he couldn't let Qin Wan get into danger. He had to take the enemy away...
Lu Yu successfully led the enemy troops around to a distant place. When he found that the enemy was far away from where Qin Wan was, he quickly found an opportunity to break away from them and return to Qin Wan.
When Lu Yu returned to Qin Wan, she had already recovered some of her strength. A hint of surprise flashed in her eyes when she saw Lu Yu's return.
"Lu Yu, you're back! Are you okay?" Qin Wan asked anxiously.
Lu Yu smiled and shook his head: "I'm fine. I have already led the enemy away. We need to notify the army quickly."
Qin Wan's eyes flashed with gratitude and admiration when she heard this. She knew that Lu Yu not only saved her, but also bought her precious time.
The two men quickly packed up their belongings and headed towards the army along the planned route. They knew the road ahead was still long, but they were ready to face any challenge.
At this time, Political Commissar Huo was pacing back and forth in the office.
His brows were furrowed, his eyes filled with worry.
He looked out the window from time to time, hoping to see Lu Yu and Qin Wan returning, but he was disappointed every time.
"Why haven't you come back yet?"
Political Commissar Huo muttered to himself, his heart filled with uneasiness. He knew that although Qin Wan was a woman, she was extraordinary in skills, wisdom and courage.
Lu Yu is a former special forces soldier with strong combat capabilities.
If the two of them haven't returned yet, they must have encountered some particularly difficult problems.
He picked up the teacup on the table, hoping to ease his tension, but the tea in his hand was as hot and bitter as his mood. He put the teacup down, stood up again, and began to walk back and forth in the office.
He has been waiting there ever since we received Lu Yu's signal.
"No, I can't just wait here." Political Commissar Huo thought to himself and decided to send people to the mountains to look for Lu Yu and Qin Wan.
However, just as he was about to give the order, hurried footsteps were heard from outside the door.
"Report to Political Commissar Huo, there is an emergency!"
A soldier hurried into the office, his face full of anxiety.
Political Commissar Huo's heart tightened. He immediately realized that this might be related to the disappearance of Lu Yu and Shan Qinwan. He gestured for the soldier to continue.
"We just received a letter from Lu Yu." The soldier said, handing the letter to Political Commissar Huo.
Political Commissar Huo quickly opened the letter and glanced through it. In the letter, Qin Wan described in detail the enemy they encountered and how Lu Yu bravely fought against the enemy and finally repelled the enemy.
But the letter also mentioned that they were in urgent need of reinforcements because the enemy was numerous and powerful.
"Gather the troops immediately and prepare to set off!" Political Commissar Huo gave the order immediately after reading the letter.
He knew very well that every minute and every second was crucial at this moment, and they had to rush to the battlefield as soon as possible to support Lu Yu and Qin Wan.
The soldiers sprang into action, and the entire barracks instantly became busy and orderly. Political Commissar Huo stood at the window of his office, his gaze fixed firmly into the distance.
He knew that this battle would be a tough one, but they would never retreat, because they had the responsibility to protect their homeland and maintain peace.
As the team was assembled, Political Commissar Huo led them on the journey to the battlefield.
Their hearts were filled with determination and courage, because they knew that Lu Yu and Qin Wan were waiting for them ahead, and they must fight side by side with them to resist the enemy's invasion.
At this moment, Lu Yu and Qin Wan were struggling to advance towards the army along the rugged mountain road.
Although they were exhausted, their hearts were full of hope, because they knew that as long as they could hold on, they would surely be able to wait for reinforcements to arrive.
After Lu Yu successfully killed Kurokawa Ichiro, they thought they could breathe a sigh of relief temporarily, but they encountered even more severe challenges.
Dozens of island hermits swarmed in from all directions like ghosts, surrounding Lu Yu and Shan Qinwan. Each of these hermits was skilled in martial arts, their eyes revealing a bloodthirsty coldness, clearly coming prepared.
Faced with this sudden crisis, Qin Wan knew that he could no longer hold back.
