Zhang Lan was raised in the Zhang family. Her temperament is like the strongest sun in summer. She has had a bad temper since she was a child.
Whenever she encountered something unpleasant, she would either burst into tears, throw a tantrum, or even threaten to commit suicide, or she would throw plates and bowls. It was as if the whole world revolved around her.
But when she came to the northwest where the wind and sand were everywhere and the environment was harsh, she found that her previous tactics of throwing tantrums were simply not working.
She continued to cry and make a fuss as usual, refusing to do the hard work at all costs. She firmly believed that the people here would be like her parents, and would feel sorry for her and compromise with her when they saw her like this.
However, in that vast and desolate land, everyone is equal and resilient. If everyone could escape work by crying and making a fuss, wouldn't the land be in chaos?
Therefore, no one would give her special treatment because of her unreasonable behavior, and everyone worked hard to cultivate this land in silence.
At the beginning, the majestic leader stood there high above, and everyone was silent.
Faced with her crying and rolling on the ground, although everyone knew how excessive her behavior was, because the leader was present, no one wanted to provoke her, so they pretended not to see it and continued to be busy with their work.
However, when the leader left with steady steps, everyone instantly dropped all their disguises.
Seeing her still lying there and refusing to get up to work, her teammates gradually became angry.
Those people who usually had hot tempers could no longer bear it and walked towards her like tigers descending from the mountains.
They mercilessly extended their fists, raining down on her body, and then kicked her legs hard.
She was caught off guard by the sudden attack, and a flash of fear flashed in her eyes, but soon turned into stubbornness.
But looking at the angry eyes and the falling fists and kicks, she finally had to give in, stood up, and went to work in shame.
She has always been pampered and used to enjoying life, so how could she endure such humiliation and physical pain?
After just a few days, less than a week, she could no longer hold on. Her inner resentment and desire for a comfortable life made her rack her brains to think of a solution.
Finally, in order to return to her previous comfortable life, she made an extremely wrong decision - she made a shameful deal with those men.
She thought she had found a shortcut to escape her current predicament, but she didn't know that she had fallen into another abyss.
At first, her situation did improve: some people worked for her, some brought her food, and some gave her a little money.
But it wasn't long before something happened to her.
Among the men she dated, there was one who had contracted the terrible syphilis. This devilish man carelessly passed the deadly disease to the innocent Zhang Lan.
After Zhang Lan learned that she had contracted this terrible disease, her heart was filled with regret and despair. However, she did not wake up, but continued to fool around with those men, as if she did not care about her body and future at all.
Even more unfortunately, not long after, her sinful behavior came true again, and she passed the hateful disease on to the men who had been hurt by her, causing them to fall into endless pain.
A man was having an unbearable itching and told his friends about it. When they asked around, they found out that many people had the same symptoms. Everyone was a little suspicious.
Later, these men learned that they had contracted the disease from Zhang Lan. They were very angry and decided to torture Zhang Lan together, almost tormenting her to death.
Zhang Lan was already lacking in food and drink, and after being tortured so harshly, no one called a doctor for her. A week later, she died alone.
After hearing this, Qin Wan sighed softly a few times, and the sigh seemed to carry endless emotion. Then she put the matter behind her. After all, she had many things of her own to deal with, so how could she spare so much time to care about a woman she had only met a few times?
In the afternoon, sunlight shone into the house through the window. Qin Wan and Lu Yu were sitting in the yard with warm smiles on their faces. They were teasing a few lively and cute children, and their laughter echoed in the air.
At this moment, Zhou Ya came slowly, and her figure appeared at the door, like a beautiful landscape.
Qin Wan saw Zhou Ya with sharp eyes, and suddenly an inexplicable emotion surged in his heart. He hurriedly asked:
"Yaya, are you still keeping your elementary school textbooks?"
Zhou Ya looked puzzled, with curiosity glittering in her eyes, and asked in confusion:
"Auntie, what are you planning to do with the elementary school textbooks? Are you going to teach these little brothers? But they are still young and probably won't understand at all, right?"
At this moment, Lu Yu's heart seemed to be tightly grasped by an invisible hand and suddenly lifted up.
He wondered if Zhou Ya knew he hadn't even graduated from elementary school, would the kids laugh at him? Various embarrassing scenarios flashed through his mind, and he couldn't help but feel a little panicked.
Qin Wan keenly noticed the obvious stiffness in the man, and the corners of her mouth rose slightly, and she couldn't help laughing in her heart.
She was fully aware of Lu Yu's inner worries, but she didn't feel the need to deliberately expose his thoughts. She just smiled faintly and said, "How could that be? I'm just taking a look. Maybe when these little ones grow up a little, they will really be able to use these textbooks."
