Qin Wan chose a place with fewer people to sit down, put his bag beside him, and leaned on it tiredly, ready to take a nap.
Just then, a simple and honest voice came into her ears.
"Qin Wan, Wan Wan, are you going to the countryside too?"
The sound was like a clear spring, instantly awakening Qin Wan's consciousness. She quickly opened her eyes, raised her head, and began to look around for the source of the sound.
My eyes finally fell on a young man wearing a gray Mao suit and glasses. His eyes revealed a hint of excitement and curiosity, as if he was full of anticipation for the upcoming life in the countryside.
Seeing this person, Qin Wan felt a little more relaxed, and a smile appeared on her face. She replied softly:
"Yes, I am going to the countryside too. I didn't expect to meet you here, what a coincidence."
Qin Wan remembered that the young man's name was Zhou Ran, and he was the child of the original owner's neighbor.
They had spent many happy times together and had a deep friendship, but later the original owner got together with Zhang Shengli. Zhang Shengli did not like the original owner to have too much contact with other men. The original owner also had to do a lot of housework every day, so she consciously or unconsciously became alienated from her little friend.
Qin Wan looked at Zhou Ran's eyes and saw his anticipation for going to the countryside, feeling somewhat puzzled. At this stage, almost everyone had lost their desire to go to the countryside, so why was this person still full of longing like when the government first called on educated youth to go to the countryside?
Zhou Ran walked to Qin Wan's side, put down the luggage in his hand, and asked with concern:
"Wanwan, are you here alone? How can your family be at ease?"
When he said this, he immediately thought of the chaos in the Qin family. Knowing that he had spoken out of turn, he apologized awkwardly:
"Wanwan, I forgot. Your family probably doesn't have the heart to send you off right now. Sigh, I'm sorry for putting you through this."
Qin Wan felt a little uncomfortable at first when she saw Zhou Ran being so enthusiastic towards her. After all, it was the original owner who was familiar with Zhou Ran, not her.
But when she saw Zhou Ran's familiar and casual demeanor, the discomfort quickly dissipated.
She said to Zhou Ran naturally:
"I moved out yesterday afternoon. I don't know what the situation is with my family now. Did something happen?"
Seeing Qin Wan's bewildered face, Zhou Ran heard that she had moved out of her home yesterday afternoon, and a trace of pity rose in his heart. He told Qin Wan:
"At dawn today, Liu Juhua's neighbors heard some strange noises coming from her house. They thought her house was being robbed, so they quickly called a few people to go catch the thief.
But when they arrived at Zhang's house, there was no thief! In the house, Liu Juhua and a man were having an affair. This was really shocking!
Everyone was stunned at the time, but once they came to their senses, they took Liu Juhua and the man to the police station."
It was also the man's bad luck. If the man who caught them wasn't also Liu Juhua's admirer and hadn't confessed his love to her many times but been rejected by her, he wouldn't have sent Liu Juhua and her mistress to the police station.
After listening to Zhou Ran's account of what happened at Liu Juhua's house this morning, Qin Wan asked knowingly, "This is Zhang Shengli's family's business. What does it have to do with my family?"
Zhou Ran's expression was indescribable. After hesitating for a moment, he told Qin Wan:
"The man who was arrested is your father. According to the police officer, your father might be sent to a farm in the northwest for labor reform.
Right now, your family is in turmoil. Your mom is asking for a divorce, and your brother and sister are severing their paternal relationship with your dad. I don’t know what will happen in the end.”
In fact, all this was within Qin Wan's expectations, but he still opened his big innocent eyes and murmured:
"How could Dad be like this? How could Dad be like this? I respect him so much."
Zhou Ran didn't know how to evaluate Qin's father for a moment, so he changed the subject directly:
"Luckily you went to the countryside, otherwise, I don't know how much gossip there would be. Oh, I'm also glad that I went to the countryside, otherwise, I don't know how suffocating it would be to be urged by my parents to go on blind dates and have children every day!"
Facing the innocent and carefree Zhou Ran, Qin Wan asked him naturally: "Looking at you like this, you should be looking forward to going to the countryside this time."
"Yes, when I think about going to build our country, I feel full of energy. I've finally left home, and my parents won't have to control me anymore. I feel as free as flying. Only freedom can allow me to live my own unique life and make it more meaningful..."
Qin Wan looked at Zhou Ran and thought to himself:
This may be the result of a young man who has never experienced the harshness of society. However, despite this, young man, I still wish you success. However, when times get tough in the future, just don't regret it.
Qin Wan really couldn't agree with Zhou Ran's statement, but he couldn't refute it. In the end, thousands of words turned into five words∴
"Well, just be happy!"
Zhou Ran smiled widely when he heard Qin Wan's blessing, but when he thought of Qin Wan's predicament, he restrained himself.
Then, he took out a bag of candy from his pocket and handed it to Qin Wan, saying with a smile: "This is what my mother bought for me, hoping it can bring me a little sweetness. Now, I'll give you some."
Qin Wan took the candy and nodded, saying, "Thank you, Zhou Ran. I feel much more at ease with your concern."
The two continued to talk about past memories and future plans, sharing each other's dreams and expectations.
During the conversation, Qin Wan realized that although Zhou Ran was not small in stature, he was actually a little naive. He went to the countryside on behalf of his younger brother.
He said he couldn't stand his younger brother crying in bed, so he gave his job to his younger brother and went to the countryside himself.
