Chapter 410: White-Eyed Wolf (Part 3)

It turned out that he had been searching and investigating tirelessly according to the vague clues Qin Wan had provided him before, and finally made some discoveries.

According to him, beneath the dilapidated factory building that had been abandoned for many years, there was a hidden tunnel. This tunnel twisted and turned like a giant python sleeping underground, extending all the way to the foot of the mountain outside the city.

Faced with such an astonishing discovery, Lu Yu did not dare to delay for a moment. He immediately contacted his superiors and quickly reported the important information he had.

Today, that mysterious place is under close surveillance by someone in secret to prevent any accidents from happening.

After Lu Yu finished telling about his experiences of this operation, he took a breath and then changed the subject, curiously asking Qin Wan about his aunt's condition.

He frowned slightly and said in confusion:

"When I came back, I saw that Aunt Yu seemed a little strange! She looked listless and sighed all the time. Is she hiding something?"

Qin Wan sighed softly, then lowered his voice and replied:

"That's right! I heard from Aunt Zhang today that Aunt Yu's heartless daughter got the news from somewhere and started asking around for Aunt Yu's whereabouts."

After hearing this, Lu Yu curled his lips in disapproval:

"Is that all? If you don't want to see that unfilial daughter of hers, just avoid her. Why are you so sad and sighing?"

Qin Wan smiled slightly, the corners of her mouth slightly raised, revealing a faint smile, and said:

"Yes, we bystanders can always easily sort out the issues and quickly make the so-called correct choices.

But for Aunt Yu, that was her beloved baby, her only child, whom she had raised with great difficulty! Even if she knew her daughter was an ungrateful person, she was still a piece of her flesh and blood. How could she really give up this family relationship?

Qin Wan and the others around him, although they had already seen clearly the right and wrong of the matter, were also well aware that Aunt Yu's daughter was asking around about her aunt's whereabouts.

However, as the days passed, the woman whom they had secretly called "ungrateful" never showed up.

Gradually, everyone began to have doubts in their hearts, thinking that this matter might end in vain and be slowly forgotten in the long river of time.

However, no one expected that on a seemingly ordinary day, the phone at Qin Wan's house suddenly rang.

She picked up the phone and found it was an internal call from the gate.

The staff member told Qin Wan in a hurried tone that a young woman was standing at the gate of the family compound, and she firmly claimed that she was Aunt Yu's biological daughter. Her tone was very excited, and she demanded to enter the family compound immediately to see her mother.

Their staff found it difficult to judge whether the item was true or not, and didn't know whether to release it, so they called Qin Wan.

Qin Wan held the phone in his hand and turned to ask Aunt Yu:

"Aunt Yu, what do you think we should do about this? If you want to see her, I'll immediately notify the guards to let you in. But if you're unwilling, I won't hesitate to order the guards to keep you out."

After hearing Qin Wan's words, Aunt Yu pondered for a moment and then slowly said:

"Let her in."

Aunt Zhang, who was standing by, heard this and her expression instantly became extremely anxious. She quickly walked over to Aunt Yu and said earnestly:

"Oh, Aunt Yu, how could you be so stubborn? You've already made up your mind to completely sever all ties with her! If that's the case, then why bother meeting her? It's obvious that this will only make you feel upset!"

However, Aunt Yu remained unmoved.

She slowly shook her head, her eyes firm and stubborn, as if she had her own unshakable reasons. She bit her lip and responded word by word:

"No, I must see her. I just want her to know clearly that I never expected her to take care of me in my old age. Moreover, I ask myself, from beginning to end, I have never done anything wrong to her!"

Hearing Aunt Yu's decisive answer, Qin Wan, who had been standing aside in silence, sighed inwardly.

Now that things have come to this, it would be futile to continue persuading them.

She turned back into the house, gently took the children's hands, and said softly:

"Baby, let's go out and play for a while and leave this space to Grandma Yu, okay?"

The child nodded obediently and followed his mother out of the house, leaving Aunt Yu alone waiting for the person who was about to arrive.

At this moment, Aunt Zhang was also preparing to go out to do some business, but Qin Wan secretly gave her a look, and that look seemed to say a thousand words.

Aunt Zhang understood what was meant and knew that she was supposed to stay at home to help take care of Aunt Yu so that she wouldn't be taken advantage of.

After Qin Wan left, Aunt Yu walked slowly to the dressing table and gently combed her slightly messy hair.

After she straightened her hair, she carefully picked up an exquisite hairpin and pinned it on one side of her temple.

Then she opened the wardrobe and found a set of clothes that were not brand new but still neat and decent, and put them on.

After doing all this, Aunt Yu sat upright on the chair, her back straight, her expression serious and solemn, quietly waiting for her daughter's return.
