Chapter 450: Journey to the Secret Path (I)

Lu Yu stared quietly at the direction where Qin Wan left, falling into deep thought.

He thought to himself:

"Where on earth is my wife going to earn some extra money? Is she planning to rob the mountains of money in the tunnels?"

As soon as this thought flashed through his mind, Lu Yu couldn't help but laugh and shook his head slightly.

In fact, even if his wife really took some of the money away from there, it would not be a big deal for him. At most, he could make a little adjustment when reporting to his superiors and cover up the matter.

Thinking of this, Lu Yu raised his hand and patted his head lightly, as if trying to drive all these chaotic thoughts out of his mind.

He calmed himself down and stopped letting his wild thoughts run wild. Instead, he took a step forward and began to carefully explore the courtyard.

The courtyard was small, with only five rooms scattered throughout. From the outside, each room looked quite dilapidated, as if it had experienced the vicissitudes of time.

However, when Lu Yu pushed the door open, he was surprised to find that the house was unexpectedly tidy and clean.

Compared with ordinary houses, there is not much difference. It is equipped with beds, tables, chairs and other daily furniture. It is obvious that someone lives here on weekdays.

Lu Yu glanced around the houses roughly, but did not notice any human figures.

After a brief pause, he turned and slowly walked towards the dilapidated house on the east wall. This house was obviously more dilapidated than the others, giving people a shaky feeling.

When I opened the door, I saw that the house was filled with all kinds of miscellaneous items.

Several tattered cardboard boxes lay scattered across the floor, and a pile of rotten wood was haphazardly piled in a corner. In the center of the room sat an enormous, dilapidated wooden bed, its original color barely recognizable. On the bed lay some tattered clothes and a torn quilt.

This might be a utility room, Lu Yu thought to himself.

He tiptoed towards the shabby wooden bed, fearing that any noise would attract unnecessary attention.

When he slowly stretched out his hands and gently pushed open the already rickety wooden bed, a stale and decayed smell hit him in the face.

As the wooden bed creaked, the secret hidden under the bed was finally revealed - a broken wooden board covered a dark hole.

His heartbeat suddenly quickened. After taking a deep breath, he cautiously approached the cave entrance and squinted his eyes to look inside.

There was only a wooden ladder in the cave that looked quite old, as if silently telling the story of the past.

After hesitating for a moment, he decided to explore down along the ladder.

Stepping into the tunnel, the soil beneath my feet was soft and damp, and the air was filled with a faint smell of mold and burning kerosene. Overhead, dim kerosene lamps emitted a faint but bright light, illuminating the winding road ahead like stars.

However, Lu Yu did not rush to go deeper because he knew that the enemies in the tunnel had already been knocked unconscious by Qin Wan and had lost their ability to resist.

Since his goal had been achieved, there was no need to risk going any further. So he turned and started back, his steps hurried and eager.

Soon, Lu Yu retreated from the tunnel. He rushed to the wall in two steps, kicked his feet hard, and soared into the air like an arrow.

Then he tapped the wall with his toes, and with the reaction force he easily climbed over the wall and landed steadily on the open space outside.

The two young men who were in charge of keeping watch outside were huddled together and whispering, secretly wondering whether there were the legendary thirty-odd people in the yard.

Suddenly, a black shadow fell from the sky, like a ferocious eagle swooping down to hunt.

The two were shocked at once, and only breathed a sigh of relief when they saw that the person coming was Lu Yu, but they were still scared.

He asked nervously, "Boss Lu, what's going on in the yard right now? Is there anything unusual or dangerous?"

Lu Yu nodded slightly and responded in a low voice: "Don't make any noise, just follow me!"

After saying that, Lu Yu's figure flashed, and he jumped up as lightly as a flying swallow. After drawing a graceful arc in the air, he climbed over the high wall steadily.

However, just as his feet touched the ground, he looked back and was surprised to find that the two people behind him had not caught up yet.

He frowned slightly, turned his head again and took a closer look. It turned out that the two people were struggling to climb over the wall, and they had tried their best but failed to successfully climb over.

Seeing this scene, Lu Yu couldn't help but shook his head secretly, sighing in his heart: When I was agile and flying up and down, I was much better than these two people in front of me!

Finally, after some effort, the two men managed to jump off the wall.

Without saying a word, Lu Yu immediately led them towards the tunnel entrance.

The three of them stepped into the tunnel cautiously. After taking a few steps, they suddenly saw two middle-aged men lying on the ground.

What is even more frightening is that both of them were holding guns tightly in their hands!

Lu Yu said solemnly:

“I just stumbled upon this hidden passage, but I was worried there might be someone lying in wait, so I released some smoke screens beforehand.

It is estimated that these two guys fell unconscious after inhaling smoke.

"You stay here first and find some ropes to tie them up securely, just in case. Once you've taken care of everything, catch up and rejoin me. Remember, move quickly!"

After saying this, Lu Yu took firm steps without hesitation, swiftly heading deeper into the tunnel. He was agile, like a cheetah in the darkness, and each step was filled with strength and determination.

"Yes, Boss!"

The companion following behind him responded in a loud and crisp voice, with a hint of pride in it.

The two men came here to carry out an important mission. Each of them carried a bulging backpack filled with various necessary items.

Among them are not only strong and durable ropes, cold and hard handcuffs, but also some other mysterious and practical tools.

Following the order, they quickly took out ropes from their backpacks, quickly tied the two men up like dumplings, and then quickly chased after Lu Yu.

Lu Yu moved forward quickly along the winding tunnel. Suddenly, his sharp eyes caught a few figures lying on the ground not far ahead.
