Chapter 47 Are you afraid that I will eat your braised pork?

Qin Wan looked in the direction the stick had flown, her eyes widening. She'd never imagined she'd find an old-fashioned step-out bed in this scrapyard.

She had seen the step-up bed once before, during the apocalypse. At that time, she had just awakened her special powers and teamed up with a few people to do a mission. They passed by a museum, where she learned about the existence of the step-up bed.

The Babu bed, also known as the Eight-Step Bed, is a large bed. Its overall layout resembles a small house, with a floor, a door, and railings. At first glance, it resembles a small house.

A step-out bed is usually a dowry given to a daughter by a wealthy family when she gets married. It has a dressing table and storage area inside for the convenience of the owner.

Because the production of a step-out bed is very time-consuming, it is known as a "bed of a thousand workers" or "bed of ten thousand workers". Families with prominent status and who love their daughters often start looking for materials when their daughters are just born, and start making it when they are eight or nine years old, which often takes several years.

Qin Wan stood there quietly, staring at the bed in front of him.

This bed must have once been magnificent, but now it has been eroded beyond recognition. Its surface is covered with thick dust, as if the traces of time have been deeply imprinted on it.

The once gorgeous decorations had faded and become dull; the structure of the bed was no longer intact, and the storage part and dressing table on the bed had long been shattered, and it was impossible to restore it to its former luxury and refinement.

Despite this, the bed frame still exists, but one of the legs is missing, making the whole bed look so pitiful and desolate.

But even so, Qin Wan was still able to imagine its former splendor through those exquisite carvings.

Around the bed, scattered around were a number of dust-covered dressing boxes, bed legs, railings, and other items. They might have once been part of the bed, but now they had become lonely relics, witnessing the ruthless passage of time.

Qin Wan gently reached out her hand and caressed the step-out bed tenderly. Her fingers slid lightly across the bed board, feeling the rough texture left by time.

Suddenly, her fingertips stopped at a carved part on the headboard, where there was a small depression. She touched it with her fingers curiously and found a tiny protrusion hidden in the depression.

She subconsciously pressed hard, and then something surprising happened - the whole bed fell apart!

As the bed disintegrated, a large amount of gold, jewels and various precious jewelry rolled out.

Big yellow croaker, small yellow croaker, diamonds, agates, jade, etc., the number is staggering.

They have gone through the years of precipitation, but still shine with dazzling light, as if telling the glory and honor of the past.

Qin Wan stared blankly at everything in front of her, her heart filled with astonishment and confusion. She had never thought that she would find such an amazing treasure here.

Who put these treasures here, and why did they choose to hide them in this old step-out bed?

Qin Wan couldn't care less about these things for the time being.

She subconsciously looked around, then quickly put all these things into the space. This was a gift from God, so she had to keep it well.

She once again confirmed in her heart that she was God's biological daughter! Otherwise, God would not have rushed to send her a baby. This made Qin Wan full of confidence and expectation for the future, and she felt that she would definitely be able to live a happy and beautiful life.

Afterwards, she looked at the broken bed and said "I'm sorry" with an apologetic look.

After all, even though this bed was worn and tattered, it was a witness to history, having accompanied countless people through the ages. If it weren't for me, perhaps it could have stayed here for a few more years.

After apologizing, Qin Wan went to the door of the recycling station with the junior and senior high school textbooks he had found long ago.

At this moment, the old man who was originally lying in the rocking chair had sat up, holding a white enameled bottle in his hand and drinking tea. Seeing Qin Wan coming over, he narrowed his eyes and asked:

"Little girl, have you chosen?"

Qin Wan said "hmm" and put the textbook on a table at the gate.

The old man took a look and said, "Just give me fifty cents."

Qin Wan paid the money, picked up the textbook and walked out. When he reached the door, he turned back and asked embarrassedly:

"How much is that bed in there?"

The old man heard this, his eyes flashed, and he said: "Two dollars, if you want it, take it away."

Qin Wan then took out two dollars from his pocket and handed it to the old man, saying, "I accidentally broke the bed. I'll pay for it today and I'll find time to come back this afternoon. My home isn't far from here anyway."

After saying that, he walked away with a bundle of books, looking nonchalant.

After she left, the old man stared at the recycling station's door for a long moment before shaking his head. How could such a young girl know about the rare Huanghuali wood? He probably bought it because he felt embarrassed about breaking the frame. Otherwise, why would he be so indifferent?

As for why she came back to ask after she left, it was probably the result of a contest between the two villains in her heart. She felt that it would be against her conscience if she didn't buy it. She is still a little girl with a bottom line, haha.

If Qin Wan could hear the old man's inner thoughts, he would definitely laugh and tell him:

Your guesses are all wrong. The reason why I came back after leaving and pretended to be indifferent was just because I was afraid that you would ask for too much and blackmail me!

Qin Wan left the scrap station and went to an empty place, where he put the books into the space. Then he walked around in the space, trying to find a cart or tricycle, but found that there were no such things in the space, not even a bicycle.
