And right by the pond, on a protruding rock, there was a white-haired old man sitting with his eyes closed, resting, as if he had become one with the mountains and water.
Qin Wan was shocked. She was now at the fifth level of wood-type ability, but she did not feel the breath of the white-haired old man.
But then she calmed down again. She knew that in these deep mountains and old forests, one might occasionally encounter some hermit masters. So, she approached him gently and asked respectfully, "Old man, what are you doing here?"
The old man slowly opened his eyes, his gaze as sharp as a torch, as if he could see into people's hearts. He glanced at the ginseng in Qin Wan's hand, smiled slightly, and said, "Little girl, you have dug up the treasure in this mountain."
Qin Wan was stunned for a moment, then understood what the old man meant. She nodded and said, "Yes, old man, I discovered this ginseng by accident. However, I don't know if there are any taboos in this mountain, and I'm afraid of offending anyone."
The old man laughed loudly upon hearing this and said:
"The little girl has a kind heart, which is rare. There are no taboos in this mountain. The ginseng you dug is your destiny. However, although ginseng is good, you should not be greedy. Remember, all things have spirits, and only when you take in moderation can you achieve long-term benefits."
Qin Wan's mind suddenly became clear when she heard this. She bowed to the old man and said:
"Thank you for your guidance, old man. I will remember your teachings and cherish this fate."
The old man smiled and nodded, saying:
"Okay, little girl, go ahead. Remember, no matter how hard life is, as long as you have good thoughts in your heart, good luck will accompany you."
After saying this, the old man closed his eyes, as if he had entered a state of being at peace with the world again.
Qin Wan stood aside for a while and couldn't help asking the old man:
"Old man, why do you choose to live in seclusion here? Don't you miss the outside world?"
The old man smiled slightly and said:
"Little girl, the outside world is prosperous, but it is also full of noise and impetuousness. Here, with its picturesque scenery and tranquility, it is truly my home. Moreover, there are still many unsolved mysteries in this mountain, waiting for me to explore."
Qin Wan seemed to understand something when he heard this.
She understood that everyone has their own choices and lifestyles, and the old man chose to live in seclusion in this mountain forest, perhaps in pursuit of inner peace and freedom.
Qin Wan was grateful and bowed to the old man again. Then he carefully held the ginseng and set out on his way home.
Returning to the small courtyard, Qin Wan placed the ginseng on the table, his heart filled with emotion.
She knew that this ginseng was not only a treasure, but also a rare opportunity.
She decided to use the money to improve her own life and do something for the forest that raised her.
