Extra Chapter 23: Qin Ruanruan

Qin Runrun stood aside, listening to Qin Jing say this, her face turned pale as paper in an instant, bloodless, as if all her vitality had been drained away.

She moved forward slowly, as if she had lost the strength to support her body, and every step seemed extremely difficult.

Finally, she walked up to Qin Jing, and with trembling hands, she hugged Qin Jing's arm tightly, as if that was her last straw.

She raised her head and looked at Qin Jing with tearful eyes. Tears were welling up in her eyes and seemed like they would roll down at any moment.

Her lips trembled slightly as she asked Qin Jing:

"Brother, don't you believe me either?"

Her voice was filled with tears, which made people feel extremely distressed.

"Don't you know what kind of person I am? How could I do such a thing?"

Qin Jing couldn't help but feel sorry for Qin Ruanruan when she saw her so sad. After all, they had been siblings for more than ten years, and they still had feelings for each other.

However, faced with his mother's request, he had to make such a decision.

"Ruanruan, of course I believe you wouldn't do such a thing." Qin Jing said softly, trying to keep her voice calm. "However, it's better to let the doctor check it out. Only in this way can you be cleared of all charges and Mom can be completely at ease!"

"Brother, you still don't believe me..." Qin Ruanruan's crying became more and more shrill, and her body trembled with excessive grief. "I trusted you so much, you, you, you let me down so much!"

After saying that, she suddenly shook off Qin Jing's arm, as if she had used up all her strength.

Then she turned and stumbled out like a wounded deer.

Bai Susu lay quietly on the bed. Although she was weak, her eyes never left Qin Ruanruan. When she saw Qin Ruanruan trying to run away, her heart tightened and she quickly shouted:

"Qing'er, hurry up, catch her, don't let her run away!"

When everyone heard Bai Susu's cry, they couldn't help but be a little surprised. They had never expected that Bai Susu, who had been lying in bed all day in a daze, would react so quickly, even faster than healthy people like them.

It is true that human potential is unlimited!

Qin Jing was also stunned. He hesitated for a moment, then immediately came to his senses and hurriedly got up to chase Qin Runrun.

In the past two years at the company, Qin Jing had suffered a lot, with all the dirty and tiring work being pushed onto him. However, it was precisely this experience that had helped him develop considerable physical strength.

In comparison, Qin Ruanruan's situation is much worse.

After she was sold to the mountains, she was imprisoned in a cellar all day long. Not only was she not well fed and poorly clothed, she was also often bullied and abused by others.

In such a harsh environment, her body had already become extremely weak. How could she have the extra strength to escape?

Sure enough, after just a few steps, Qin Ruanruan was easily caught by Qin Jing. Qin Jing effortlessly carried Qin Ruanruan back to the house as if she were carrying a chicken.

Qin Runrun was of course very clear in her mind what her behavior just now meant, and that was why she deliberately found an excuse to run away.

She had originally planned that once she managed to escape, she would immediately rush back to Bai Susu's residence, seize the opportunity to loot some useful items, and then try to escape from this place. If that didn't work, she would even go back to the mountains.

However, man proposes, God disposes, and her plan was completely exposed by Bai Suzhen's cry.

Qin Ruanruan was both angry and helpless. She knew that she had no way out and could not change the current situation no matter what she did.

Thinking that she would spend her whole life in prison and might even be beaten to death, her legs began to tremble uncontrollably. As they trembled, they suddenly became limp, and her whole body collapsed to the ground as if all her bones had been pulled out.

At this moment, Qin Runrun's hair was scattered messily on her pale face, making her already haggard face even more blurred.

However, even so, people could still see through her messy hair, her empty eyes full of despair and helplessness, as if the whole world was moving away from her at this moment.

Bai Suzhen, lying on the bed, watched all this coldly.

When she saw Qin Ruanruan collapsed on the ground like a puddle of mud, she inexplicably felt a sense of relief in her heart.

Her originally tense face slowly relaxed, and the corners of her mouth even slightly raised, revealing a barely perceptible, ironic smile.

Bai Susu took a deep breath, gathered all her energy, and deliberately raised her voice an octave, so that every word she said could be successfully transmitted to everyone around her:

"Look, look! That ungrateful, ungrateful bastard can't even stand steadily. Is she feeling guilty?"

Bai Suzhen's voice was sharp and shrill, echoing in the narrow ward. It was particularly unpleasant and harsh, like a sharp sword, piercing Qin Runrun's heart that was already on the verge of collapse.

Seeing Qin Runrun's originally pale face become even more bloodless, Bai Susu felt particularly happy in her heart, so happy that she wanted to sing out loud.

For this reason, the corners of Bai Suzhen's mouth rose higher and higher, and her smile clearly revealed a sense of gloating.

She watched Qin Runrun's face turn blue, red, and white, and the joy in her heart grew stronger and stronger.

At this moment, she felt like she was enjoying a wonderful play, and Qin Runrun, whom she hated the most, was the most tragic character in the play.

When the nurses in the ward heard Bai Susu's words, they all turned their gazes to Qin Ruanruan. Seeing Qin Ruanruan's guilty look, their eyes were full of suspicion and speculation:

"Could it be that Qin Ruanruan really wants to kill her adoptive mother as her adoptive mother said?" A small nurse with a round face asked the big-eyed nurse next to her in a low voice.

"That shouldn't be the case, right? From what they said before, her adoptive mother treated her very well. In order to prevent her from going to the countryside, her adoptive mother even signed up her own daughter, and her own daughter has a job."

The big-eyed nurse thought about some of the previous statements and gave her answer.

"But didn't you hear what they said? Her father cheated on her husband, and her mother interfered with other people's families. How can a child raised in such a family be good?"

Standing next to the two nurses was an old lady in her sixties. She agreed with what Bai Susu said. She was so angry at her adopted daughter that she almost fainted.

How many adopted daughters will really be good to their adoptive parents!

Just as people were discussing enthusiastically, Qin Runrun suddenly raised her head.

Her eyes were filled with anger and resentment. She stared at Bai Suzhen and then cursed at her viciously.
