Extra Chapter 38: Zhou Ran

Zhou Ran felt something was wrong and quickly followed.

In this way, one chasing and one fleeing, the two quickly left the platform and entered a small alley near the station.

The little beggar suddenly quickened his pace. Zhou Ran followed behind him, shouting, "Stop! What do you want to do?"

Unexpectedly, the little beggar did not stop, but ran even faster, saying to him as he ran: "Hurry up, you are such a big man, you can't fail to catch up with a little kid like me!"

Seeing that there was no one around, Zhou Ran made up his mind and started running.

He had trained in the countryside for several years, doing heavy labor. Whether it was physical strength or endurance, it was beyond the reach of ordinary people. Although the little beggar ran fast, he was still young and had limited physical strength. After a while, he was caught up by Zhou Ran.

The little beggar was so tired that he was out of breath. He bent over, supported his hands on his knees, and said breathlessly:

"We'll be there in a little while, don't worry."

Zhou Ran followed behind him, frowning and asking doubtfully:

"What on earth did you bring me here for? Why did you steal my luggage?"

The little beggar stood up, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and said with a playful smile:

"Brother, don't be angry. I didn't mean to take your luggage. In fact, I had my reasons."

As he spoke, he led Zhou Ran forward and explained the whole story clearly.

Zhou Ran learned that it was Qin Wan who had found this group of little beggars and asked them to help find him, saying that he had an urgent matter.

Zhou Ran realized that Qin Wan was looking for him, and he was confused. He thought to himself:

I must be in big trouble, otherwise Wanwan wouldn't go to such great lengths.

Seeing that he had figured it out, the little beggar said:

"Brother, Qin Wan paid us to find you and take you to see her. I stole your luggage just to make you chase me so that I can take you to the place."

The little beggar explained, his tone a little apologetic and a little proud.

Zhou Ran felt warm in his heart after hearing this. He took his luggage and asked:

"Did Qin Wan tell me what she wanted to talk to me about? Do you know?"

Zhou Ran was both curious and nervous. He knew that Qin Wan was a kind woman. She must have some important reason for looking for him, but she would definitely not cheat him.

The little beggar shook his head and said, "I don't know what it is exactly. She just asked me to tell you to go to the hospital to find her. She didn't say anything else."

Zhou Ran sighed and thought to himself:

"Since I'm here, I might as well meet her and see what she's up to. I hope she doesn't let me take the blame for her.

He carried his luggage and hurried along, and soon arrived at the hospital following the little beggar's instructions.

The hospital was bustling with people and filled with the smell of disinfectant. Zhou Ran walked through the crowded corridor and finally found Qin Wan.

"Wanwan, I heard those little beggars say you were looking for me. What happened?"

Zhou Ran looked at Qin Wan and forced a smile, but the worry in his eyes was hard to hide.

Qin Wan looked at him with a serious expression, shook his head and said:

"Nothing happened to me, but something big happened to your family."

Zhou Ran's heart tightened, and his smile froze on his face. He quickly asked:

"What big thing could happen in my family? Tell me quickly."

Qin Wan sighed and recounted to Zhou Ran the story of how Zhou Ye had stabbed Zhang Shengli's uncle's son. Her words were concise and clear, but like a bolt from the blue, they left Zhou Ran stunned.

"What? Zhou Ye... How could he do such a thing?"

Zhou Ran asked in disbelief, his voice trembling slightly. He could never have imagined that his brother, who usually seemed a bit impulsive, would actually do something so earth-shattering!

Qin Wan looked at Zhou Ran, a hint of sympathy flashing in his eyes.

She had used her spiritual sense to understand the entire incident and knew that the Zhou family was now facing a huge crisis. She said softly:

"Zhou Ran, I know this is hard for you to accept, but it's the truth. The Zhou family is now planning to have you take the blame for Zhou Ye. What...what are your plans?"

Zhou Ran was silent for a moment. He understood that this incident was undoubtedly a disaster for the Zhou family, and he himself might be dragged into it and unable to extricate himself.

But he knew better than to say that he couldn't just sit there and wait for death.

In the past, he lived like a walking corpse at home. In order to get a little care from his family, he wanted to give his heart out.

But what did he get? Their contempt for him, and even more aggressive harassment and insults.

But now, there are people who care about him, and his struggle is no longer alone, so he no longer has to think about Zhou Ye all the time.

He raised his head and looked at Qin Wan, with a determined light in his eyes:

"Wanwan, thank you for telling me this. I won't take the blame. I still have my family, two families waiting for me to protect."

Speaking of this, Zhou Ran smiled and thought of the little girl who was waiting for him to return home.

Qin Wan was surprised for a moment, then said with certainty: "You are married!"

"Yes, she's from the countryside. When I first went there, I was unfamiliar with the place and suffered a lot. One of the girls often took care of me, cooked for me, and helped me with various things. Later, I fell in love with her.

Qin Wan looked at him, a hint of relief flashing in his eyes. Does this Zhou Ran finally know how to think about himself?

She knew that Zhou Ran was a responsible man, and no matter what difficulties he encountered, he would face them bravely.

She patted Zhou Ran's shoulder gently and said, "I believe you, Zhou Ran. You will never do such foolish things again."

Zhou Ran nodded to Qin Wan and said, "I still have things to do, so I won't go to see my aunt. Just tell her."

After saying that, he went home with his simple luggage.

Qin Wan looked at his straightened back and smiled with relief. In the original owner's memory, Zhou Ran had taken the blame for his brother Zhou Ye, but now he didn't. This meant that the plot no longer existed. This was great! Very good!

After sending Zhou Ran away, Qin Wan returned to the ward. Seeing Bai Susu and Qin Jing looking at him, he said:

"Ask whatever you want to ask!"

Qin Jing asked, "Has Zhou Ran figured it out? He's no longer going to take the blame for Zhou Ye?"

Qin Wan nodded and said, "If he dares to take the blame for this, then he simply doesn't want to live anymore."

Bai Su Su didn't understand. She asked, "How could anyone not want to live? A good death is worse than a miserable life. Don't you even know this truth?"

Qin Wan smiled and said nothing.

Bai Suzhen suddenly understood that the reason why a person doesn't want to live is because that person has lost the reason to live.

Take Zhou Ran for example. He is not loved by his parents, nor by his grandparents, and is always despised by others. There is really no point in living like this.

Thinking of this, her heart began to ache again. She stretched out her skinny hand, as if wanting to grab Qin Wan's hand, but Qin Wan did not extend his hand to her.

Bai Susu didn't care about these, she just asked distressedly:

"Wanwan, have you ever thought about not wanting to live?"
