Chapter 194 Demon Container

"Huh...? What do you mean?"

Lovett had food in his mouth and was speaking somewhat unclearly, but he believed that the man named Sora could understand him.

The man named Sora had lost his initial composure. He loosened his tie, unbuttoned one button of his shirt, and pulled hard on the collar to let in more cold air.

Looking at the sweat on his forehead, Lovett couldn't help but think, "It's Christmas time, is it really that hot in my house?"

"Mr. Sora, are you alright? I know I was a bit irritable just now..."

“Blovet, I was indeed frightened, but not by you.”

Sora interrupted Lovett.

"How long has this been going on? Besides eating, getting angry, and having strange ambiguous relationships, is there anything else, such as laziness, looking down on others, jealousy, or an excessive love of money?"

Lovett chewed the food in his mouth, recalling for a moment.

"It'll probably be in the next few days. But if you put it that way, I was unexpectedly lazy today, didn't want to do anything, and almost missed my hospital appointment..."

Sora had already stood up.

"What about the others?"

"Others? There shouldn't be anything else. I already have enough problems with all these."

"Okay, I understand."

Sora slowly walked to Lovett's side and picked up a magazine from the table.

With a "smack," it was slapped onto the large portion of sauce fried rice that was still more than half full.

"You bastard, what are you doing?"

Lovett's temper flared up instantly. He was starving, so he yelled and reached for the magazine.

Surprisingly, Sora's voice was even louder than his.

"Control yourself! Your appetite, Mr. Lovett!"

"If you want to live a little longer."

Lovett was so startled that he paused, and Sora added in a low voice.

He then picked up his phone and started making a call.

Lovett was still very hungry, even though he knew he had just eaten a lot, but the hunger was really unbearable.

Sora had really frightened him, so he could only suck on his spoon and carefully eavesdrop on the phone call.

"Hey, what are you guys doing? This isn't a Level 5 incident like before!"

"What? You can't be mistaken? I was right there, right next to the person involved. Do you think I'm in the mood to joke with you?"

What did I see?

Sora switched the phone to her other ear and glanced at Lovett.

The latter felt guilty under the gaze, but while he lowered his head, his ears perked up even more.

"Now we've confirmed lust, gluttony, wrath, and perhaps sloth—that's the seven deadly sins!"

Lovett's heart skipped a beat, as if he had grasped something, and he carefully recalled the strange situation he had been in these past few days, while listening intently to the phone call on the other end.

He could hear the previously unclear voice on the other end of the phone immediately burst out with a "what?" that he could clearly hear, right after Sora finished saying "seven deadly sins."

"That's right, you heard me correctly, this is a Level 2 incident! And you sent me, a member of the foreign affairs agency who just finished his probationary period, to die!"

"It's been about five days since the first deadly sin appeared, and now there seems to be a fourth deadly sin. This speed..."

As he spoke, Sora wiped the sweat from his face with his suit sleeve, disregarding his image.

"The other party... can't wait any longer..."

Lovett became increasingly nervous from Sora's expression and tone, barely daring to breathe, which temporarily suppressed his terrifying appetite.

"Can I choose to evacuate?"

Hearing Sora say those words into the phone, Lovett felt a tightness in his chest, as if a lifeline was about to be pulled away, causing him to feel suffocated.

"You know perfectly well that we can't do that!"

"Damn it, we're short-handed!"

"If you can't send at least one elite knight squad over soon... then you can collect my corpse!"

After saying that, Lovett saw Sora hang up the phone immediately.

For some reason, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

"Lovitt, listen to me carefully. From now on, you must always clear your mind and stay calm. You can't get angry easily, and you can only eat one hamburger per meal, the small kind."

"And you need to be more active. Even if you're playing games, you can't just lie down or sit and rest. Oh, and delete all the unhealthy movies on your computer."

Lovett nodded vigorously, like a rattle-drum.

"Does this mean I'm alright now?"

"Nothing? How would I know? I've never encountered a great demon, even though that's what the books say."

"I'm not leaving for the next couple of days. I'll stay with you. Uh, ha, it's probably not a big deal. Relax, Lovett."

Sora's final, stiff remark did nothing to ease Lovett's tension.

From Sora's words, he heard about the Seven Deadly Sins, which are the greatest evils that have been recorded in Catholic doctrine since ancient times and are believed to damage the spirituality of individuals.

So if those who claim to be virtuous despise the seven deadly sins so much, who would like them?

It's obviously not a good thing.

"The...the great demon?"

Lovett felt both fear and absurdity.

I live on a technologically advanced 21st-century Earth, not in the medieval era of ignorance. Moreover, I am an astronomer, yes, a scientist, and I shouldn't be afraid of these things.

Yes, it's a prank. This damn guy is just messing with me.

Yes, he was definitely behind everything that happened before.

That damn guy ruined my dinner.

Lovett's temper flared up again, and this time his target was Sora.

But a last vestige of clarity within him kept him from uttering the words he wanted to send Sora away.

Sora then pointed his phone at Lovett and recorded a short video.

Lovett, seeing Sora walk away, removed the magazine covering the food box and started eating again.

I promptly ran to the kitchen, took ice cubes from the refrigerator, put them in a bucket, and added a small amount of water.

"Splash~"

The icy, bone-chilling sensation started from my head and spread to my entire upper body in a very short time.

Lovett was so cold that his teeth chattered, and he felt his thoughts freeze for a moment.

At the same time, the person also became sober and calm.

The empty foil box on the table and the feeling of fullness in his stomach told him that the remaining half of the meal had already been eaten.

"Hiss~~~~ It's so...so cold..."

"Are you... are you crazy? It's... it's the end of December, people will... people will freeze to death!"

Sora opened the video on her phone and played the content she had just recorded.

He pulled Lovett's head close to the phone screen.

Look at the way you just looked!

Lovett's eyes froze when he glanced at the screen, and he even forgot about the cold.

The faces on the screen turned red and blue, their expressions ferocious and terrifying, as if they wanted to devour someone.

Is this really me?

Seeing that Lovett had completely quieted down, Sora took out a silver necklace from the inner pocket of her chest.

"Did you see what you were like just now? Are you scared? If you are, then keep this with you at all times."

Sora pulled Lovett's hand over and slammed the necklace in her hand into his.

"Boom!"

A not-so-loud explosion was accompanied by a ripple of dark light.

Sora was thrown back.

With a "bang..." it crashed into the opposite wall.
