Chapter 423 Parallel World

Both seemed to have seen something, but they couldn't describe it in detail; it was merely a feeling. But that was enough for Wu You and Bai Ze.

"No wonder I can't sense Best, no wonder its name comes and goes."

Bai Ze interjected.

"You could say it succeeded, but without the Lord, it would have essentially failed. The determination of success or failure does not lie with Best from countless years ago, but rather with you, the Lord!"

"That's right!"

The cryptic conversation between Wu You and Bai Ze left the shadow fairies perched on the surrounding clouds completely bewildered, but they could only remain silent, not daring to ask their master and the big boss any questions.

"The Refutation of Time!"

Wu You's mood improved. Although the unknown vision was still a heavy burden on his mind, Best's problem seemed to be resolved.

As if explaining something to the scratching shadow fairies, Wu You spoke slowly.

"The past is set in stone, the future can be changed, but what if I want to change the past? This is the time paradox."

"Now it seems that Best has inevitably encountered this time paradox. The barren planet has not changed, and it seems that it has failed, but that is not the case."

"There's also the parallel world theory. The world that was influenced by Best, from the moment it appeared on the timeline, was no longer the original world in a strict sense. It can be regarded as a parallel world."

"But the problem is not just that."

Wu You looked at Bai Ze as he spoke, and the latter smiled knowingly and continued to explain to the shadow fairies who were already smashing their heads.

"The real question is, do parallel worlds really exist? The answer is 'no,' or rather, the answer used to be 'no.' I don't know if this is the original truth of the universe, but it certainly seems to be so at present."

"In the endless past, time in the universe may not have reversed. The existence of time travel may not be ruled out, but it should be annihilated in the process, or simply disappear as soon as it appears on that timeline."

Suddenly, a clear scream rang out from the surrounding clouds. A shadow fairy flew away in an arc, muttering, "I don't want to hear it anymore..."

Bai Ze smiled and continued speaking to himself.

"Then will Best also perish? That would be different, because Best was the Lord's faithful servant, and the parallel world would still not exist?"

At this point, Bai Ze's expression gradually became serious, as if he were admiring a work of art, carefully observing the "Secret Garden of the God of Destiny" that he had seen countless times.

This world has become incredibly vast, seemingly without boundaries, and indeed it is in terms of its ever-growing nature.

"Once a parallel world autonomously creates the power of existence... it already possesses the conditions for existence!"

Wu You had also put away his smile at this moment. Wasn't Bai Ze's explanation process also helping him to sort out his final thoughts?

"I never imagined I'd almost really kill Best..."

The power of existence is not simply about enabling psionic spirits to spread rapidly throughout the universe. Wu You and Bai Ze understood this shortly after the birth of the first crystal wall-type alternate dimension.

Today, it has a newer definition.

"It's funny, I never really thought about creating parallel worlds before. At most, I thought about using crystal walls to create some fun worlds."

That being said, Wu You and Bai Ze both understood that parallel worlds cannot be created so easily.

First, parallel worlds are different from alternate dimensions. The latter can only be seen as a small world plane, possessing its own world and its own laws, and can be large or small.

But parallel worlds are different. There are many kinds of parallel worlds. If the classic plot in people's minds can be interpreted into a world, that is one of them. This includes some games, movies and books. Another kind is different perspectives on the development of history. Best's situation is this kind, which is also the most troublesome kind.

Because it contains the entire universe!

Wu You is fully capable of creating a world, but to say yes about creating a universe would be presumptuous.

The structure of this universe is actually a relatively simple matter. Wu You already has a rough outline in mind. He doesn't need to construct it in too much detail himself. He only needs to imagine the possibility of Best successfully changing history.

The difficulty lies in providing the power required to create such a component, and the number of psionic spirits is far from sufficient.

Bai Ze seemed to know what Wu You was thinking.

"My lord, we don't actually need a complete parallel universe."

Wu You looked at Bai Ze with some doubt, as the latter made his signature beard-stroking gesture, resembling an old man with a goat's head.

"What I just said was incomplete. You don't need to construct a parallel world that matches the original universe's energy level. My lord must have read Gulliver's Travels."

These words enlightened Wuyou. Bai Ze meant to miniaturize the universe infinitely, at least to the extent that current power could construct.

While it may seem illogical, parallel worlds can no longer be considered the original world, and therefore may not be impossible to achieve.

Now that he had figured out all the key points, Wu You didn't plan to wait any longer. Besides, this didn't require the power of other alchemical creatures, only a sufficient number of psionic spirits.

Just to be on the safe side, Wu You decided to go somewhere else.

"Come on, White Prophet, let's witness a miracle together!"

"Yes, sir!"

Black light flickered in the sky above where Wu You and Bai De were. In the next instant, they disappeared, leaving the innocent shadow fairies around them feeling both disappointed and relieved. They scattered to go back to work or play.

At the same moment, at one end of the distant universe, somewhere in outer space on that desolate planet, two figures appeared, transforming into Wu You and Bai Ze's true forms.

Without any movement or words, countless psionic spirits instantly filled this universe, and their numbers continued to increase, constantly multiplying.

The Colossus and Phoenix pilots patrolling the planet below also sensed something.

"Pioneer Patrol Team 1 calling the outpost."

"Received, Pioneer 1, please speak."

"Outpost, have you sensed the psionic energy intensity here increasing exponentially...? The speed is terrifying!"

The outpost in outer orbit has actually observed this, and the psionic intensity at the outpost's location is many, many times higher than that on the planet's surface.

"Vanguard 1, on alert. Outpost is calling fleet headquarters."

...

At the starport where the Protoss Space Fleet was located, Li Shengyao's adjutant rushed into a Chinese restaurant on the spaceship, sprinting at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour to reach Li Shengyao.

"General! Something's happened on the desolate planet. The psionic energy intensity is increasing exponentially at an alarming rate!"

Li Shengyao wiped his mouth and hands with the hot towel that the waiter had just put on him, speaking calmly.

"Keep calm, Chiang Kai-shek. A soldier should remain unmoved even when Mount Tai collapses."

"How high is the psionic energy level?"

The adjutant took a breath, but his voice still trembled.

"It's already 30,000 times higher than the Earth's average..."

"Clang~~~Bang~Crack~" The sound of a plate or cup shattering came from Li Shengyao's table and from all the places around him where the sound could be heard.

Li Shengyao gripped his adjutant's collar tightly.

"What did you say!!!!!"

P.S.: I accidentally typed the characters "褦襶" and it felt strangely absurd...
