In case of unforeseen circumstances, please request leave.

Tomorrow is the seventh day of the Lunar New Year, which is my birthday. Actually, I'm usually the one celebrating other people's birthdays; I don't usually celebrate my own.

My parents fooled me throughout my childhood. When I asked why I never had a birthday celebration, they always said my birthday was the most lively, with several tables of people invited to dinner every time. Only when I grew up did I realize that it was basically just like celebrating Chinese New Year.

Later, my family started following the trend of hosting a New Year's Eve dinner for all relatives and friends before the New Year, and my so-called most lively birthday celebration almost never happened again.

Today's situation is somewhat special.

I had dinner at my aunt's house. While my relatives were chatting, my mom mentioned that tomorrow, the seventh day of the Lunar New Year, is my birthday. After dinner, several of my cousins insisted on going to a karaoke bar, saying they didn't have any dinner plans tomorrow and wanted to celebrate my birthday early.

As someone who hates trouble, I naturally wanted to refuse, but I didn't want to spoil everyone's fun during the Lunar New Year. I figured I should at least have a birthday celebration myself, since there was a cake!

So, I got back at 10 pm and didn't feel like writing anymore, so I asked for leave.

(Hmm, this kind of excuse for taking leave can only be used once a year!!)
