Chapter Four Lion-Faced Vajra

Whew, Wu You breathed a sigh of relief. The lion was still alive, and he had finally caught it. Now he just needed to catch another animal.

The most urgent thing is to find a safe place to rest. If another predator comes along, I'll take care of it and kill it.

The forest was not far away. In the face of the recent devastating fire, no animal dared to approach the junction of the forest and the grassland at this time. Wu You entered the forest without any danger.

Having found a suitable tree, Wu You, with his relatively agile movements, finally managed to drag his exhausted body up the tree.

Take out a piece of chocolate, break it off, and put it in your mouth.

Wu You had never thought that chocolate could taste this good. It wasn't just the sweetness, but also the relief of surviving a disaster.

After resting for more than ten minutes, Wu You's strength had recovered a lot. He also secretly decided that next time he must be fully prepared before entering the Beast Mountain. He could bring in chocolate and a lighter. Even bringing a kitchen knife would be better than what he was doing now.

Upon opening the system interface in my consciousness, a prominent material warehouse option appeared in the lower right corner. After clicking on it, I could see several rows of empty cage icons. Only the first one contained a lion, which looked haggard and old, but fortunately, it wasn't charred.

It's about time to set off. The sooner we gather everyone, the sooner we can get out of here. Wu You didn't bring enough food and survival tools.

Just as Wu You was about to climb down the tree, he noticed a little squirrel nibbling on some chocolate crumbs that had fallen beside him, looking completely unsuspecting.

Could we try to capture it? Wu You had a thought and moved his hand slightly to the side of a chocolate crumb.

The squirrel quickly spotted the crumb and inevitably bumped into Wu You's hand while picking it up.

Choose to arrest.

The next moment, the little squirrel, just like the lion before, vanished into light.

Capture successful. Obtain material: female chipmunk.

Capture successful! It really works! The lack of resistance can be achieved by knocking out or subduing the target, or by deceiving them. As long as the target is unaware or unprepared, capturing them at the moment of contact is entirely feasible, which greatly expands the scope of manipulation.

At this point, the system interface displayed a bio-alchemy option, asking if the user wanted to perform alchemy.

Wu You decisively chose no. Although he did want to leave this place as soon as possible, it seemed like a waste to use a lion and a squirrel for alchemy.

Without lingering any longer, Wu You climbed down the tree and headed into the depths of the forest. It was a subtropical jungle, and the dense vegetation severely hampered his speed. He also didn't have a machete to clear the way, only a branch he had picked up at random.

The original short-sleeved white shirt had long been stained with various colors due to a series of changes.

Because of the fire, we walked for almost half an hour without seeing a single animal of any significant size.

As they walked, Wu You suddenly stopped and began to listen attentively.

There's a sound of water; it's a river or a stream!

It is common knowledge that in the wild, areas near water sources are always densely populated with animals, as both carnivores and herbivores cannot live without water.

Of course, water sources are also dangerous areas, for herbivores and some small carnivores, and even more so for Wu You.

But it's impossible to get Wu You to turn around and leave. What was he doing here after walking for so long?

After calmly and cautiously continuing forward for 5 minutes, a stream came into view.

Thankfully, there shouldn't be any crocodiles in such shallow water.

He felt fortunate.

Wu You's dry throat kept reminding him to get some water, but he couldn't be so reckless as to rush out of the protection of the dense forest. There was no other vegetation at the stream except for moss, and going in would mean exposing himself to the view of the dense forest on both sides.

After observing for a while and finding no other animals, Wu You couldn't resist any longer and carefully walked out of the woods and into the stream.

After scanning the woods on both sides of the stream several times, he bent down, scooped up a ladle of water, and took a sip.

It's refreshing and sweet, and tastes better than any mineral water or purified water.

Unable to resist his urge to drink, he lowered his head and drank deeply into the water, washing his hands and face as he went. It took him a while to finally lift his head up.

Awesome! If it weren't for the safety concerns, this would be the best place for a picnic.

But the moment Wu You raised his head, his body froze.

He slightly turned his stiff neck and saw a huge creature staring at him silently from less than 3 meters away.

Three meters is an absolute death distance in the wild animal kingdom; human reaction and speed become a joke at this distance.

A silverback gorilla was observing the strange animal in front of it with great curiosity. It was an adult male, and its muscles would make any human feel ashamed. Its powerful arms contained explosive strength, and its two long fangs were not to be underestimated. It was no exaggeration to say that it could tear apart tigers and leopards.

What to do? Wuyou was both terrified and helpless. Any exaggerated action could lead to her death.

Suddenly, a bold idea flashed through my mind.

To avoid causing a misunderstanding, Wu You did not choose to get up immediately, but slowly sat back down, supporting his body with his left hand, trying to appear relaxed.

As a primate, the silverback gorilla could definitely understand this action, indicating that Wu You had no aggressive intent.

Sure enough, Wu You, who had been watching the gorilla's behavior, saw that the silverback gorilla relaxed its muscles and sat down on the ground as he moved. However, its eyes were still fixed on Wu You. After all, it had never seen such a strange animal in its life, and compared to animals like lions, tigers, deer, and cattle, this one looked more like an ape.

Wu You reached into his pocket with his right hand and slowly pulled out the half-eaten chocolate.

Because of the hot weather, the chocolate had already partially melted, so Wu You tore the packaging open a little wider to reveal the chocolate inside.

Now that the packaging bags and pockets are gone, the sweet aroma of melted chocolate wafts through the air.

The silverback gorilla's attention was almost instantly drawn to the chocolate in Wu You's hand.

Very good, that's it.

Take your time, gently pinch off half of the chocolate, and carefully place it on a small rock between yourself and the silverback gorilla.

After twitching its nose for a while, the silverback gorilla looked at Wu You warily, tentatively reached out and touched the chocolate on the rock. Seeing no reaction, it took the chocolate back into its hand.

Seeing the silverback gorilla holding the chocolate to its nose and sniffing it repeatedly, Wu You knew he had at least succeeded halfway.

He took the remaining chocolate out of the packaging and, from the gorilla's perspective, pinched off a piece and slowly put it in his mouth, making a show of enjoyment.

Sure enough, when the silverback gorilla saw Wu You eating this fragrant treat, it immediately broke off a piece and put it in its mouth, instantly conquering its taste buds.

This bark-colored soft mud was so delicious; it was sweeter and more flavorful than any fruit, and the gorilla practically popped the rest of the chocolate into his mouth the next instant.

After finishing the chocolate in its hand, the silverback gorilla savored the taste for a while before eyeing Wu You again. It knew that this strange animal still had some sweet, soft mud on its hands.

Wu You was secretly excited; whether he could succeed depended on the next moment.

He opened his right hand, revealing the chocolate in it, and slowly reached out, but this time, he did not choose to put the chocolate on the ground.

The silverback gorilla's attention was completely drawn to the chocolate. Although it retained basic alertness, it had already established a fragile foundation of trust with this strange ape.

It slowly extended its thick, powerful right hand, its forearm, covered in short black hair, with bulging muscles at least five times thicker than Wu You's arm.

Wu You's chest and back were completely soaked with cold sweat. The moment the silverback gorilla received the chocolate, the two primates' hands finally touched.

Select capture!

In the next instant, the silverback gorilla turned into specks of light and disappeared before Wu You's eyes.

Hint: Capture successful. Obtain material: Male silverback gorilla.

Wu You's entire body went limp, feeling that it had taken even more effort than when he escaped the lion's pursuit, but he was overjoyed. He had finally caught it, and it was a strong silverback gorilla at that.

Using lions and silverback gorillas as materials, the foundation of the first bio-alchemy was truly luxurious.

...

Hiding in the dense forest, Wu You found a thick, sturdy tree and excitedly climbed to the top.

He calmed down for a long time, but his heart was still beating fast, which reminded him of the first Judgment Sword he got when he played Legend of Mir, and his heart couldn't calm down for a long time.

Expand the system, select the Bio-Alchemy option, and you will see icons for levels one through nine, as well as a Dark Alchemy icon, but only level one is lit up.

Selecting Level 1 Biological Alchemy brings up a material warehouse selection box containing three animals: a male lion, a silverback gorilla, and a squirrel.

Have you selected a male lion and a silverback gorilla? Is this a confirmed choice?

Wu You directly selected "Confirm," and a fantastical black background resembling flowing black water appeared.

Please describe the alchemical life form, and consider how the physical form affects the success rate.

What is this? How is it depicted? Is it drawn?

Three question marks floated through Wu You's mind as he tried to focus his attention on the image above. A series of lines with a mysterious texture appeared on it.

It really works!

Wu You discovered that this was a 3D drawing. He only needed to imagine the general image in his mind, and the mysterious lines would fill in most of the details. The more detailed his imagination, the more accurate the lines would be.

As he continued drawing, Wu You became increasingly engrossed, experiencing a creative joy as he perfectly translated his wildest ideas onto the "alchemy canvas."

As the final line was completed, the 3D biological graphic on the alchemy canvas lit up.

The system evaluation showed that the physical arrangement was 89% reasonable and the alchemy success rate increased by 8.9%.

The current success rate is 50% + 8.9%.

Two options appeared: "Immediate Alchemy" and "Use Item".

Wu You immediately remembered that he had drawn a lottery when he first got the system. Not wanting to waste such rare materials, 58.9% was still not safe. He always found strengthening in games to be a trap.

Choose the item to use. There is only one card in the synthesis auxiliary item section. Select the Lucky Alchemy Card.

The current alchemy success rate is 50% + 8.9% + 30%. Choose alchemy.

The two beasts in the material bar transformed into streaks of light and entered the alchemy canvas. The image on the canvas became increasingly vivid and realistic. A few seconds later, the beast on the alchemy canvas raised its head.

It has the head of a lion, a majestic dark golden mane, but a human-shaped body. Standing upright at two meters tall, every muscle bulges violently. Its hands and feet are large yet agile, with claws that can retract. The whole body is covered with a short, dense layer of dark bronze fur, and a pair of amber eyes that are captivating.

Hint: Alchemy successful. Please name it.

Wu You's eyes sparkled as he chose to name it: Lion-Faced Garurumon.
