Chapter 193 The Elusive Puzzle Piece

The oil painting puzzle is about three meters long and one and a half meters high, making it a very large painting.

Xia Tianqiong carefully held the edge of the frame and slowly removed the entire painting, afraid that too much movement would cause the puzzle to fall apart.

He turned the oil painting around and saw three lines of text on the lower right corner of the back, written in bloody characters.

It looks like it was written with a finger dipped in blood.

The first line contains only five words: "The puzzle is on your person!"

The second line is a little longer: "Each time a puzzle piece is completed, you can receive a reward."

The third line reads, "After the puzzle is completely completed, the person who provided the most puzzle pieces can leave."

These three lines are clearly a hint, but why are they written at the end?

The puzzle pieces are on my body, but on whom?

Is it on the eerie entity? Or something else? Or perhaps the player?

Thinking of this, Xia Tianqiong quickly began to search her own body.

Some supernatural entities can silently place something in a person's clothes, then make you search for it, or falsely accuse you of stealing it.

Xia Tianqiong searched carefully from top to bottom, inside and out, and finally confirmed that there was nothing extra in her clothes.

So it might be related to the Weird; we should go find the Weird now.

Xia Tianqiong counted and found that 14 puzzle pieces were missing. To guarantee a win, she needed to find 8 more puzzle pieces.

Suddenly, an idea came to mind: if the oil painting were stored in the mirror space, even if someone found the puzzle pieces, they wouldn't be able to put them together.

So I tried it, but unfortunately I couldn't put it in; it must be restricted by the rules.

Meanwhile, the other contestants were already searching, and time was running out, so he had no choice but to hang the painting back in its original place and then go find the puzzle pieces.

However, before leaving, he cut his finger and used his blood to cover up the three lines of text on the back.

Even if someone discovers it, they won't be able to see what was originally written.

After doing all that, he went out of the room to find the puzzle pieces.

Outside the door are long corridors on both sides, with some mottled mold spots on the walls. Every ten meters or so, a dim yellow wall lamp is lit, with some cobwebs wrapped around it.

The corridor is lined with doors, most of which are closed, with only a few open.

The doors all have room numbers, so they look like hotels.

At a glance, there are more than a dozen rooms to be seen, and there are probably more rooms at the corners at both ends of the corridor.

The other six contestants were already searching everywhere, but most of the doors were locked and they couldn't open them.

Xia Tianqiong didn't go far; she went straight to a door opposite.

I turned the handle, but it wouldn't budge; the door was locked.

Seeing that no one was in the corridor, he used his "door-opening technique," and with a soft click, the door lock automatically popped open.

Upon entering the room, I found that the layout was very similar to the previous one, except that the items inside were somewhat different.

After searching carefully, they found nothing and then went to the next room.

They didn't find a puzzle piece until they opened the sixth locked room.

Moreover, it's the first thing you see when you enter the room; it's placed directly on the desk.

"Wasn't it on my person? How did it end up here?"

Xia Tianqiong picked up the puzzle piece and examined it carefully. Then she tapped on the desk to see if it looked strange.

They smashed it all, only to find it was just an ordinary table.

He was a little puzzled. Could it be that the hints on the back of the painting were inaccurate?

This eerie hotel is shaped like a square, with fourteen rooms on each side, totaling fifty-six rooms, about two-thirds of which are locked.

This is very advantageous for Xia Tianqiong.

The other contestants searched the rooms with open doors, looking for puzzle pieces while also searching for keys to other rooms.

He went from one shop to another, searching one after another.

The efficiency was faster than all the other contestants combined, but strangely, they didn't find many puzzle pieces.

Xia Tianqiong's behavior quickly attracted the attention of others.

As he entered a room, a flash of light suddenly appeared from behind the door, aimed directly at his head, intending to kill him instantly.

However, Xia Tianqiong simply turned slightly to the side and dodged the attack.

He had already sensed someone behind the door, so he was naturally not attacked.

Turning around, he saw that the one who had attacked him was the middle-aged man who had spoken first.

The middle-aged man held a blood-red longsword, a look of astonishment in his eyes. He hadn't expected Xia Tianqiong to dodge the sneak attack so easily, and even look at him calmly.

He didn't attack again, but instead threatened with the knife, saying, "I don't want to kill anyone. Hand over all the puzzle pieces, and I'll let you go."

Xia Tianqiong watched indifferently, without replying.

Suddenly, he raised his hand and grabbed at the middle-aged man in mid-air, performing a head-turning technique.

The middle-aged man fought back desperately, roaring as he swung his knife.

The blade glowed with a blood-red light, extremely dazzling.

But just as he cleaved halfway with his knife, a vine wrapped around his feet and pulled hard, causing him to fall backward to the ground.

Immediately afterwards, there was a cracking sound, and his neck was twisted 180 degrees, resulting in immediate death.

Two strange creatures emerged from the middle-aged man's body, a fierce one and a wild one, which Xia Tianqiong easily subdued. He also picked up the blood-red broadsword, which seemed to be a decent magical weapon.

He then crouched down and began to search the corpse.

Not a single puzzle piece was found!

This person has really bad luck.

Xia Tianqiong continued searching for the puzzle pieces, but the further she went, the more serious her expression became.

Of the fifty-six rooms in total, he searched through thirty-eight of them, but only found four puzzle pieces.

Nothing strange or suspicious was found during the process.

He walked around the loop of the corridor and returned to the original room, where he found the other contestants were also there.
