Chapter 23 The Rules of the Invisible Restaurant

The Wujian Restaurant has many rules, and you can easily trigger them if you're not careful.

At the table in front of Xia Tianqiong was a young couple who looked like college students, radiating youthful energy.

They sat there like tourists, looking around, chatting and laughing.

"The decor here is so retro, it looks just like the real thing!"

"Yes, the waiters were just like the waiters in TV dramas, their acting was pretty good, I almost thought I had traveled back to ancient times."

"And those people dressed in ancient costumes, they're part of the atmosphere group, this restaurant is really interesting."

"Look at those guests at that table, their faces are deathly pale, they look like dead people. Is it special effects makeup?"

They skipped class today to go on a field trip and originally planned to return to school in the evening, but they came across this restaurant on the way.

I thought it was some kind of restaurant with a unique style, and since I was hungry, I went in to eat.

As the group was chatting happily, the waiter brought over a dish, "Three Delicacies Meatballs, please enjoy."

The meatballs, about the size of an egg, are golden in color and have a rich meaty aroma.

The girl didn't wait for her boyfriend; she picked up a piece first, took a bite, and then frowned.

"It looks good, but the taste isn't that great."

The waiter turned to leave, but upon hearing this, a hint of joy appeared on his face.

"You're saying this dish isn't good, is that right?"

"Yes, it's not very tasty."

The girl is a person with high standards for food; she won't eat anything that doesn't suit her taste.

Her boyfriend, standing next to her, advised, "Don't talk nonsense. If you don't like it, then don't eat it."

His words immediately angered the girl. "What's wrong? Can't I say it's not good?"

"You're just too picky. I didn't find it unappetizing at all!"

The girl put down her chopsticks and stared at her boyfriend with wide eyes.

Seeing that the two were about to start arguing, the waiter standing nearby quickly tried to mediate.

"This is not worth arguing about. If you don't like the food, please come with me and talk to the chef directly."

The girl suddenly stood up, as if she was angry with her boyfriend, "Fine, I'll go. If it's not good, it's not good. I'll say it in front of the chef."

"Wen Yue, why are you going to find the chef? I admit I misspoke. Sit down. If you don't like it, we can order something else."

Her boyfriend knew her well; if he didn't say something gentle at this moment, she might really go and argue with the chef.

The girl didn't really want to go; she just wanted to see her boyfriend's attitude. Once she heard him apologize, she prepared to sit down again.

To her surprise, the waiter patted her on the shoulder and said, "Come with me, I'll take you to see the chef."

Suddenly, the girl's eyes went vacant and her expression became blank. She followed the waiter to where the chef was.

The boy called out twice, but there was no response.

You're actually going?!

The boy didn't notice anything unusual about her and assumed that she had gone there on her own initiative.

The kitchen is located in the center of this floor and is a semi-open kitchen, which is unlike the ancient style.

The waiter led the girl to the kitchen, and after saying something to the chef, the chef led the girl into a separate area of the kitchen.

The cubicles are covered by curtains, so outsiders can't see what's going on inside.

Although the boy was also angry, he was worried that his girlfriend would argue with the chef, so he followed her from a distance.

He found it strange; even if he wanted to argue with the chef, was it really necessary to go into a small cubicle?

So he quickened his pace and went to the kitchen, preparing to enter the cubicle.

At that moment, the chef came out.

"Hello, sir, where is my girlfriend?"

The chef had a fleshy face and a big belly, which made him look unappetizing.

Instead of answering, it asked the boy, "Do you also think my cooking is bad?"

"I think it's alright."

The boy felt uncomfortable under the chef's cold gaze, and subconsciously took a half step back, his voice trembling slightly, "Where...where's my girlfriend?"

"She's inside."

The chef seemed disappointed, turned around and went back to the stove to continue cooking.

Without hesitation, the boy lifted the curtain and went into the cubicle.

No sooner had they gone in than the chef suddenly smiled and followed them in, knife in hand.

The cubicles look small from the outside, but once inside, they feel surprisingly spacious.

As soon as the boy entered, he looked up and saw a row of human heads hanging on the wall, each with its eyes wide open, as if they had died with their eyes wide open.

His girlfriend was among them.

Large wooden barrels were placed against the wall, containing hands, feet, torsos, and various internal organs, all sorted and placed in their respective barrels.

Like prepared ingredients, ready to be used at any time.

The boy was so frightened that he froze on the spot. Just as he was about to scream, the chef suddenly appeared behind him.

A few seconds later, the chef came out alone, and the boy and girl never appeared again.

There were many similar incidents throughout the restaurant.

Someone had just eaten a few bites of food when they suddenly vomited blood and collapsed on the table.

The waiter walked over, patted the man's shoulder lightly, and then followed him into the kitchen, into a separate room, and then did not come out again.

Some people, after finishing their meals and going to pay the bill, learned that they needed ghost money (paper money used in the dead of war), and naturally couldn't produce it. Then, the waiter led them into a kitchen cubicle, where they disappeared.

As time passed, the humans who came here disappeared one by one, and as more and more people disappeared, the remaining people gradually noticed something was wrong.

The atmosphere became strange, and some people tried to sneak out of the restaurant.

Summer was enjoying a feast when two people crouched down and walked over. The table was already laden with various dishes.

It was the same couple I had met at the door earlier.

The man recognized Xia Tianqiong and said, "Dude, stop eating. The food is poisoned. I just saw someone vomit blood after eating it."

"Then he must have eaten something he shouldn't have."
