In the apocalypse, very few restaurants are open for business, and even those that are open mostly serve ghost hunters, and they only accept ghost money for payment.
This is a distinctive Western restaurant, with mahogany tables covered with pristine white tablecloths and exquisite tableware gleaming in the candlelight.
A young man with a high nose bridge and deep eyes was slowly cutting off a small piece of meat with a knife and fork, putting it in his mouth, and chewing it slowly.
He squinted his eyes, his face full of rapture and enjoyment.
"I haven't had such delicious food in a long time."
His voice wasn't loud, but it was captivatingly magnetic.
After a short while, he slowly opened his eyes, picked up a wine glass, gently swirled it, and then suddenly tilted his head back, pouring most of the glass of red wine down his throat.
His wild appearance was completely different from his previous refined demeanor.
Sitting opposite me was a woman with a plump figure, a middle-aged woman whose crow's feet around her eyes couldn't be hidden even with her exquisite makeup.
The woman leaned back in her chair, crossed her legs, held a wine glass in her left hand and a cigarette in her right.
She was looking at the man with an eager gaze, a look that held a hint of infatuation.
The young man opposite her was very handsome, with a mixed-race male model vibe, which made her unconsciously fall for him.
"Are you satisfied with my arrangements?"
"Not enough!"
The young man shook his head, looked up at him, and his eyes were full of wicked charm.
The middle-aged woman turned her head to look to the side, where a male waiter was standing.
With just one glance, the waiter understood her meaning and softly called out towards the door, "Next."
As he spoke, a figure walked in through the door.
She was a beautiful young girl, about sixteen or seventeen years old.
His limbs looked stiff, his walking posture was strange, and his face was expressionless.
But those bright eyes were darting around, and tears kept sliding down their cheeks.
She walked straight to the table, leaned forward, and put her head in the plate in front of the young man.
The young man didn't move. The waiter came over, holding a small, dark blue knife, and gently made a cut on the girl's head.
The skull split open in two, but the brain inside remained intact.
The waiter removed the brain, placed it on a plate, and then with a wave of his hand, the girl's body disappeared.
The girl's eyes remained open until her death.
However, there are many others like her, and they are right outside the door.
The waiter said softly, "Please enjoy your meal."
The young man's eyes lit up with joy, and he immediately picked up his knife and fork and began to eat elegantly.
"Human brains are the most tender and delicious part, especially in young humans. Eating them along with their souls is absolutely delicious."
The middle-aged woman sat there steadily, her expression unchanged.
"As long as you sign an equal contract with me, I will provide you with this kind of brain regularly, and you will also receive an offering of 50,000 ghost money every month."
The young man kept his head down and focused on eating, not responding at all.
The middle-aged woman frowned and then advised, "Although you are a fierce and cunning person, there is no shortage of fierce and cunning people in the human world now. It is not safe for you to wander around the human world on your own."
Besides, as long as you form a contract with me, you won't have to kill anyone yourself; I can do it for you. In return, you only need to do things for me occasionally. It's a win-win situation for both of us, so why not?
The young man finally stopped eating, slowly raised his head, and revealed a charming smile.
"I've just arrived in the human world, could we talk after I've eaten my fill?"
The middle-aged woman smiled nonchalantly, "Fine, eat as much as you like."
After saying that, he looked at the waiter and said, "Keep serving the food, don't stop, let our friends eat their fill."
She casually announced, "Serve the food!" and then a line of young people came in and were served.
At this moment, more than a hundred young people have gathered on the street outside the Western restaurant.
There were both men and women, all under the age of twenty.
They were guarded by more than a dozen ghost hunters, and none of them could escape.
As long as an instruction is given from inside the restaurant, these young men and women will be controlled by magic and forced to enter the restaurant on their own.
Their fate is to become food for some people to appease the bizarre.
Among the crowd was a brother and sister; the sister, Sun Miao, was seventeen years old, while the brother, Sun Yan, was only fifteen.
"Sister, we're going to die eventually," Sun Yan, the younger brother, said with a mournful face.
"It's better to die, maybe then I can go to heaven and see my parents."
Sun Miao, the older sister, stroked her younger brother's head, tears silently streaming down her face.
Sun Yan's face was full of resentment. "Sister, there is no heaven in this world. They say that if you die a normal death, you have a chance to become a monster. But people like us who are eaten by monsters don't even have the chance to become monsters."
"I'm not reconciled! If I could become a monster, I'd slaughter all these evil monster hunters and restore peace to the world!"
Sun Miao seemed dazed and subconsciously said, "Why don't we just commit suicide? Maybe then we'll have a chance to become a monster."
After saying this, the siblings were both stunned, and then a resolute look flashed in their eyes.
"Sister, I'm afraid of pain, why don't you just kill me!"
Sun Miao remained silent for a moment, then gritted his teeth and finally made a decision: "Fine, I'll kill you, and then I'll commit suicide."
There were broken windows and fallen glass on the roadside. She quietly walked over, using the crowd as cover, and picked up a piece of glass that looked fairly sharp.
"Bear with it, I'm going to slit your neck, it might hurt."
Sun Miao held the glass, her hands trembling. Before she could even cut her brother's neck, she cut her own finger and drew blood.
"Sis...you...you hurry up! I'm a little scared."
Sun Yan's legs trembled, and his voice was choked with sobs.
"If you're afraid of death, then go die first!"
A rough male voice suddenly rang out, startling the siblings.
