He only has one daughter, so everything in the Lin family will have to be handed over to her in the future. She can use the people around him however she wants.
How could someone as experienced as him not see the problem with that contract?
He was afraid that Lin Xiuyan would suffer if she married Zhou Chenyang, so he signed that contract against his will, wanting to spend money to buy her happiness.
Whether Lin Xiuyan's personal opposition was a spur-of-the-moment decision or a fluke remains to be seen, but it doesn't diminish his joy.
Lin Yunzhi had a doctor brought in to apply medicine to Lin Xiuyan, only to discover several dark finger marks on her slender neck, which broke his heart.
He asked her, "Where did you go last night? Why did you get yourself like this?"
Jiang Xinrou pricked up her ears, feeling a little worried. How much did Lin Xiuyan know about what happened last night?
