Chapter 420: Looking for Mickey (5)
Although it was a treat, in fact, this lunch was quite simple——
The waiter first brought each person a portion of borscht;
Then each person had a fruit salad and a rose apple pie;
The main course is grilled steak and a fried egg;
There is plenty of bread of all kinds;
Enough coffee...
During the dinner, Heath and Liu Shan introduced their family situations:
Married. I have three children: one boy and two girls. The oldest boy is already in junior high school, and the youngest is in the second grade of elementary school.
"I heard that your Chinese students are very good. Especially in computing. In every International Mathematical Olympiad, the most award-winning students are from China. I really don't know how they learn!" Heath said.
He then told Liu Shan that his eldest son was very smart and learned easily, being a top student in both elementary school and middle school. Unexpectedly, a young Chinese student had recently joined his son's class, reportedly a junior high student from a prestigious Shanghai school. His arrival immediately put Heath's son, who was always so self-important, to the side. The son was very upset when he told his son about this incident.
"Haha..." Liu Shan laughed out loud. What Heath described was a perfectly normal phenomenon. The diligence of Chinese students was universally recognized! However, while diligence was a good thing, the overemphasis on exam-oriented education by parents and schools had suppressed the development of some students' personalities... However, it was inconvenient to discuss this with Heath.
After lunch, they took a short rest and then drove to Hood's house.
The Hood family home was located in a remote suburb of District X. The car drove from the police station, through a hilly area, and after nearly an hour's journey, a lone villa finally appeared in the distance...
"That's Hood's home." A young policeman told Liu Shan.
"Oh. He lives in such a remote place!" said Liu Shan.
"The land price here should be relatively cheap. Besides, some rich people like to live farther away from the city, saying that they can stay away from the noise," said the young policeman.
As they were talking, the car drove to the gate of the villa.
Liu Shan and Gu Dun followed Heath out of the car, and the young policeman rang the doorbell...
This is a three-story villa with a beige exterior. Through the gaps in the fence, you can clearly see the green lawn and neatly planted flowers in the yard...
After a while, the gate opened automatically and a deep voice came:
"Welcome, distinguished guest."
"Please follow the cobblestone path straight ahead and you will reach the foyer!"
Following the guidance of the voice, Heath Liu Shan and his group arrived at the main entrance of the villa. They saw a short man standing at the door.
"Welcome, Sheriff Heath. What brings you here?" the man said with a smile.
"Oh, I never come here for no reason!" Sheriff Heath took a step forward and walked to the man.
"Come, let me introduce you to two friends from China..." Heath said, pointing at Liu Shan and Gu Dun.
"This is Mr. Liu, and this is Mr. Gu. They are from Province X in China," Heath said.
"Oh, hello." The man took the initiative to greet Liu Shan and Gu Dun.
"But I don't have any relatives or friends in Province X in China!" The man looked at Heath strangely.
At first glance, this is a Chinese American——
Black hair, black eyes, single eyelids, yellow skin... His Chinese genes are too obvious. Although he speaks standard American English and lives in the United States.
