Chapter 326 My "Sleeping" is a Verb

Chapter 326 My "Sleeping" is a Verb

Wang Shufen sighed, "Oh, poor little Wei. He lost his mother at such a young age, and now his father has passed away too. It's so pitiful. Nanzhi, you're all he has now, so you must comfort him and stay by his side. If he throws a tantrum or is in a bad mood, please be more accommodating."

Xie Nanzhi nuzzled against her hand, acting a little coquettish like when they were children, "Don't worry, Wei Chizheng is my dear husband."

Wang Shufen was amused by her words, and sighed helplessly, "That's true, you two have a good relationship, and with you by my side, there's nothing I can't overcome."

Xie Nanzhi and Wei Chizheng stayed at the hospital until dark before heading back.

Back in familiar surroundings, Wei Chizheng was less likely to be overcome with sadness. After the two children went to bed early, Xie Nanzhi and Wei Chizheng also returned to their bedroom.

Xie Nanzhi nestled in Wei Chizheng's arms, and the two chatted about all sorts of things, and time flew by as they talked.

He talked a lot about his childhood, mostly about his mother, and very little about Wei Huaibo.

As Wei Chizheng said, "He is very busy. Sometimes I may not see him for a whole week, and the few times I do see him, it is just a fleeting glimpse. Perhaps my mother does not love me, but at least my childhood was filled with her presence."

Neither of them is a good parent.

Xie Nanzhi felt that neither of them deserved to be a mother or a father. However, she couldn't say these things in front of Wei Chizheng.

Xie Nanzhi put her arm around his waist. "Wei Chizheng, you should have an older brother, right? How come I've never heard you mention him? Are you two not on good terms?"

Wei Chizheng shook his head. "It's not a matter of good or bad. My older brother and I don't interact much. In my memory, we don't seem to have exchanged more than a few words."

Wei Chizheng was Wei Huaibo's son born late in life. His older brother was old enough to be his father, but Wei Chizheng was still in kindergarten while his older brother was already married.

With such a large age difference, they really don't have much in common.

Xie Nanzhi nodded. "That makes sense. What common ground can an adult and a little kid possibly have?"

Suddenly, Xie Nanzhi felt a sharp pain in her waist. She cried out and looked resentfully at the culprit.

Wei Chizheng stared at her with his deep black eyes, his sharp canine teeth brushing against his lower lip, his eyes shining like stars. "Who are you calling a little brat?"

Xie Nanzhi grinned, "Whoever breaks down, that's who I'm talking about."

Before he could finish speaking, a warm sensation suddenly covered his lower back.

Before she could react, Wei Chizheng had already reached his arm through her back and with a nimble flip, pinned her beneath him.

He leaned over her, his long, slender fingers gently gripping her wrist, his fingertips unconsciously caressing her ankle.

Gradually, Wei Chizheng's breath settled down, mixed with a faint sandalwood scent, and a hint of temptation brushed against her earlobe. "Wife, I hope you won't lose your guard later."

He looked down at her, his eyes filled with laughter, even his eyebrows softened, but he didn't loosen his grip on her wrist, as if he was certain she couldn't escape.

Oh no, Xie Nanzhi felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end.

The confidence she had just displayed vanished instantly. Looking at his jawline so close to hers, she suddenly realized how foolish her provocation had been.

She tried to pull her wrist away, but couldn't. Instead, he gripped it even tighter. She could only mutter in a soft voice, "Wei Chizheng, I'm your wife. Are you going to argue with me like this?"

"Seriously?" Wei Chi chuckled softly, gently rubbing his chin against the top of her head. The movement was so gentle it sounded like he was comforting her, but his tone carried a hint of deliberate teasing. "In this world, I only take this seriously with my wife."

Xie Nanzhi's face slowly warmed up, and even the tips of her ears felt burning.

She turned her head away, not wanting to look at him, but he gently turned her chin with his fingertip, forcing her to meet his eyes. His eyes were full of gentle teasing, making her heart beat even faster, and her voice trembled with a hint of grievance, "I'm sleepy, really sleepy. Wei Chizheng, let's go to sleep."

As he finished speaking, Wei Chizheng gently brushed his thumb across the skin of her wrist, his movements as soft as if he were coaxing a child. "Okay, let's go to sleep, let's go to sleep now."

Suddenly, he leaned close to her ear, his voice even lower, "However, 'I need to sleep' is a verb, wife, I'll satisfy you right now."

Xie Nanzhi wanted to say, "No! Is it too late for her to beg for mercy now?"

Unfortunately, it was too late to say anything.

This was the first time the two of them had done something like this in so many days.

Wei Chizheng seemed tireless, playing with unrestrained enthusiasm.

Xie Nanzhi was in a terrible state; she couldn't even get out of bed the next day. Her bones felt like they had been run over by a car wheel, and she felt like they would fall apart with the slightest movement.

Xie Nanzhi muttered that Wei Chizheng was no good, and all the servants in the house knew it. This time, the master had really offended Miss Nan terribly.

Xie Nanzhi stayed home lazily for most of the day before finally driving out in the afternoon.

She handed the pastries she bought from Kyoto to Xibei and Zhou Mubin in turn. On her way, she stopped at Zhou Mubin's law firm, where she learned that he and Jin Moli had broken up.

The entire law firm was filled with joy.

Before Xie Nanzhi could even see Zhou Mubin, a young lawyer who had previously been on good terms with Xie Nanzhi started gossiping about Jin Moli.

“Sister Nanzhi, you have no idea how much we celebrated the day Jin Moli left the law firm. My God, we’ve been suffering so much these past few days, it’s been unbearable.”

Xie Nanzhi hadn't been to the law firm for a while. She never imagined that after Jin Moli arrived, everyone's lives would become so miserable.

Xie Nanzhi leaned against her desk. "Is it really necessary?"

The young lawyer said, "It's quite something. Let me tell you, two of our top lawyers have already left. They couldn't stand her and left because they were so angry with her. I was originally planning to leave after this month, but since she left, I'm not leaving."

Then Zhou Mubin coughed, and the young lawyer immediately shut up, sat down, and buried his head in the case at hand.

Zhou Mubin walked over and rolled his eyes at her. "Is the workload too light? Want to work overtime?"

The young lawyer quickly said, "No need, no need, Attorney Zhou, you don't need to be so polite."

Zhou Mubin said irritably, "Speak less and do more."

After saying that, he walked towards his office.

Xie Nanzhi followed with a smile. When they arrived at the office, she put down the pastries she was holding and sat directly in his office chair. "Attorney Zhou, look at your law firm's employees. They're all complaining. It's pitiful to hear them complain."

Zhou Mubin plopped down on the sofa in the reception area, crossed his legs, and frowned so deeply he looked like he could break off. "How would I know any of this?"

Previously, Zhou Mubin only needed to manage the cases he took on; Cui Xiao handled everything else at the law firm.

Over the years, nothing had gone wrong, so Zhou Mubin had gotten used to it and assumed that anyone else would have done the same job.

To my utter surprise, it wasn't like that at all.
