Chapter 276 You're nothing but bullshit
"How could a shrewd man like Zhou Lu fall for a woman like Jin Moli?"
"I can't understand it either. He has no education, no ability, and no looks. How could such a 'three-nothing' product be Zhou Lu's assistant?"
"Good heavens, I really don't understand Zhou Lu's amazing move. Jin Moli and Assistant Cui are no match at all."
"Exactly, I miss the days when Assistant Cui was here."
As soon as she finished speaking, Jin Moli sneered from behind, "If you miss your Assistant Cui so much, why don't you resign and get out of the law firm too?"
The whispering employees then noticed Jin Moli's presence.
They were surprised at first, but after the surprise, they were not afraid.
The employee who was told to leave suddenly stood up, ripped off her name tag, and said, "After Sister Cui left, you made a mess of the law firm. I've wanted to leave for a long time, hmph."
As he spoke, he threw his work badge directly at Jin Moli's face.
Jin Moli was startled. "You, how dare you treat me like this?"
The female employee was equally defiant, sneering and retorting, "I've already resigned, what's there to be afraid of? Jin Moli, we don't know what methods you used to bewitch Zhou Lu, but we do know one thing: you're nothing but rubbish."
Jin Moli was so angry that her face turned red, and she couldn't utter a single word.
After venting her anger, the female employee bumped into her shoulder and swaggered away.
The next second, Jin Moli went berserk and screamed on the spot.
The other employees just smiled sheepishly, seemingly not taking her seriously either.
Jin Moli glared at them, then turned and left unwillingly.
She was furious, and when she got back to her office, she was so angry she felt like her lungs were about to explode. She had completely lost the sweet and gentle demeanor she showed in front of Zhou Mubin.
After Cui Xiao left, Jin Moli learned about this and begged Zhou Mubin to let her come to the law firm to be his assistant.
Zhou Mubin was initially unwilling, but he couldn't persuade Jin Moli otherwise, so he reluctantly agreed.
Jin Moli prides herself on her outstanding abilities, but no one has been willing to give her a chance before. Besides, isn't an assistant just someone who serves tea and water and tries to figure out what the boss is thinking?
No one is more suitable for this job than her. Besides, this way she can keep an eye on Zhou Mubin and prevent him from messing around outside, killing two birds with one stone.
But after she took over Cui Xiao's work at the law firm, she discovered that it wasn't like that at all.
Cui Xiao was in charge of the entire law firm, big and small. Although she was called an assistant, she did more work than a dog, and Jin Moli simply couldn't handle it.
Fortunately, she delegated most of the work to others, which made things much easier for her now.
All you need to do is serve Zhou Mubin well, and that will be enough.
Jin Moli didn't expect so many people in the law firm to be dissatisfied with her. To put it bluntly, these people were all colleagues of Cui Xiao, and they were definitely siding with that woman.
It seems she also needs to cultivate her own people at the law firm.
With that in mind, Cui Xiao drafted a recruitment list and took it directly to the human resources department.
The HR department was a bit confused. "Assistant Jin, these positions don't need any new staff at the moment."
Jin Moli stood high above, arms crossed, and said, “Law firms need fresh blood; otherwise, the veteran employees will start to slack off. I still believe that competition drives progress.”
The HR staff were completely bewildered.
Do you want to listen to what you're saying?
"Human resources," said Zhou Lu Ruo, "but we also need to pay salaries to the new employees we hire, and these costs need to be factored in. Zhou Lu Ruo knows this..."
Before HR could finish speaking, Jin Moli interrupted her, "If I told you to recruit, then go ahead and recruit. I'll talk to Lawyer Zhou."
The HR person frowned, but since everyone in the firm knew about her relationship with Attorney Zhou, they didn't say anything.
"Okay, I understand."
Jin Moli achieved her goal and left satisfied.
Zhou Mubin went directly to Nanzheng Group. Since the establishment of Nanzheng Group, all legal business has been handled by Zhou Mubin.
He knew all about Xie Nanzhi's assets; this trip was simply to recalculate them.
After leaving Nanzheng Group, Zhou Mubin drove back. As he passed Asia-Pacific Group, he unconsciously stopped his car.
He parked his car on the side of the road, looked at the two large characters "Asia Pacific," and subconsciously frowned.
Just then, the automatic door slowly opened, and several people walked out.
The man in the lead was someone Zhou Mubin had met before; he was the president of the Asia-Pacific Group, and the woman following behind him was Cui Xiao.
Zhou Mubin still remembered Cui Xiao telling him that she was now the chief secretary-general of the Asia-Pacific Group's secretariat, and it seemed that she really wasn't lying to him.
On the other hand, Cui Xiao was determined to leave the law firm.
Zhou Mubin gripped the steering wheel tightly, unaware of how grim his expression was.
The driver parked the car at the entrance, and Cui Xiaolai opened the car door with an elegant demeanor. "Don't worry, I will give you a satisfactory result within three days regarding the matter you entrusted to me."
Hou Pingliang stood in front of her, his eyes full of admiration. "I believe that with Secretary Cui's abilities, she won't disappoint me."
Cui Xiao gave a formulaic smile, "You poached me from Gaoxin, so of course I have to live up to that trust. President Hou, please get in the car first."
Hou Pingliang smiled and said, "Okay, I'll wait for your good news."
Hou Pingliang got into the car, and only after the car drove away did Cui Xiao leave.
Just as she turned around, Zhou Mubin's voice came from behind her, "Secretary Cui, it's been a long time."
Cui Xiao's body stiffened instinctively, but she recovered in just half a second.
She turned around, and Zhou Mubin was still the same as she remembered—charming, debonair, and dazzling.
Cui Xiao smiled and said, "Lawyer Zhou, long time no see. Are you out on business?"
She wore a neatly tailored white shirt with a small pearl brooch at the collar, which perfectly accentuated her slender neck.
She wore a dark gray suit jacket over her clothes, with crisp shoulders and a length that just reached her hips, which made her waist look even slimmer.
Zhou Mubin looked her over carefully, wondering how he had never noticed before that this woman had such a great figure.
He scrutinized her without restraint, appreciating the woman before him with the gaze a man uses to examine a woman.
After a long pause, Zhou Mubin smiled but did not answer Cui Xiao's question. "Shall we have dinner together tonight?"
Cui Xiao's smile was polite yet distant. "I'm sorry, I have plans for tonight."
Cui Xiao's life revolves around two points: work and home. She never goes out with friends after get off work, and Zhou Mubin knows this after working together for so many years.
Her saying this was clearly an excuse to reject him.
Zhou Mubin's thin lips curved into a smile, his sexy eyes exuding a charming and debonair air. "So you have a boyfriend?"
Then, Cui Xiao generously said, "He's not quite my boyfriend yet. He's a blind date arranged by my family, and we're still getting to know each other."
Suddenly, Zhou Mubin's carefree smile vanished, and he felt a strange tightness in his chest.
This woman actually got a boyfriend.
Zhou Mubin's face showed a hint of displeasure. "Since we're friends, I can help you investigate."
