Chapter 462 Not interested in your type

Chapter 462 Not interested in your type

The next day, just as dawn was breaking and the green leaves outside the window were still shrouded in morning mist, Zhou Mubin got up and started packing his luggage.

He arranged the case files marked "Shanghai divorce case" in order and stuffed them into the inner compartment of his black backpack. He then folded his change of clothes neatly and stuffed them into a light gray canvas duffel bag.

Finally, he put his usual pen and notebook into his side pocket, and as his fingertips brushed against the case file cover, he made sure to place the folder labeled "Property Transfer Clues" at the very bottom.

He drove to the terminal. The morning mist had not yet dissipated, and the glass curtain wall of the terminal reflected the hazy daylight. Short queues had already formed in front of the check-in counters.

Just after passing through security, he caught a glimpse of a familiar figure at the check-in counter ahead.

Li Yuwei was wearing a well-tailored white suit that accentuated her tall figure. A small, uniquely shaped brooch adorned her collar as she looked down at the flight information on the screen. Sunlight streamed through the glass, casting a pale golden halo on her hair.

This was their second meeting after their blind date.

Zhou Mubin stared at the figure not far away, paused for two seconds before stepping forward, and broke the silence with a light cough, "Miss Li, what a coincidence?"

Li Yuwei looked up at the sound, a hint of surprise flashing across her delicate features. She then nodded politely, her light makeup at the corners of her eyes looking particularly elegant in the morning light. "Young Master Zhou, are you also going to Shanghai?"

"I've taken on a case and need to investigate some leads."

Zhou Mubin gave a brief response, his gaze inadvertently sweeping over the destination on her plane ticket, which was indeed the same as his.

After a brief exchange, the two walked side by side toward the boarding gate, keeping a distance of half a meter. Passengers with luggage passed by from time to time, and Zhou Mubin subconsciously moved aside, increasing the distance between himself and Li Yuwei.

The only sounds were the airport announcements and flight information; the atmosphere wasn't exactly awkward, but it was filled with a sense of unfamiliar distance.

After the plane smoothly ascended to high altitude, the clouds outside the window spread out like fluffy cotton wool. Zhou Mubin sat by the window, unfolded the case file and carefully flipped through it, his fingertip pausing on the page marked "Trust Fund Transaction Records".

The account holder information for this money transfer was vague, which was the key to his investigation.

Li Yuwei sat in the seat diagonally behind him, wearing a pair of silver noise-canceling headphones, her head gently resting on the back of the chair with her eyes closed.

Her short hair was neat and tidy, revealing her beautifully shaped neck, and even her breathing seemed exceptionally steady.

Just as the announcement for meal service began in the cabin, and the sound of a flight attendant pushing a food cart approached from the aisle, a sharp scream suddenly erupted behind them, "Ah... Help! My arm, it hurts so much..."

The scream shattered the tranquility of the cabin. The middle-aged woman sitting next to me, who was drinking water, trembled and spilled half a glass of water onto the tray table.

Zhou Mubin turned around abruptly and saw a bearded man in a floral shirt curled up on the ground in the back aisle. His left arm was twisted at an odd angle, and there was faint blood seeping from the cuff.

Li Yuwei was standing in front of him, her suit sleeves rolled up to her elbows, revealing her sleek wrists. A simple sports watch on her wrist was still swaying slightly. Her face still carried a hint of hostility, and her eyes were as cold as ice.

"How dare you touch me in broad daylight?"

Li Yuwei looked down at the man on the ground, her voice not loud but clear, carrying a unique calm and force, startling the passengers taking pictures around her who quickly withdrew their hands.

She lifted her foot and gently kicked the man's outside thigh. The kick wasn't forceful, but it hit the nerve precisely, causing the man to groan in pain.

Her fingertips were still slightly red from the exertion, and the fierceness in her eyes had not diminished at all. "Do you think my eight years of Sanda training were just for show?"

The surrounding passengers immediately erupted in discussion. Some secretly took out their phones to take pictures, and an old man in the front row couldn't help but speak up, "The young lady did the right thing. People like this should be taught a lesson."

Some people whispered among themselves, "Was that too harsh?"

The bearded man's tears and snot streamed down his face. He gripped his twisted arm tightly with one hand and pointed at Li Yuwei with the other. His voice trembled like leaves in the autumn wind, "You...you're intentionally assaulting me. I'll call the police and have you arrested as soon as we get off the plane."

Zhou Mubin calmly got up and slowly walked over, his gaze quickly sweeping over the man's twisted arm and Li Yuwei's tense profile.

He looked at the fearless expression in Li Yuwei's eyes and chuckled, "Need any help?"

Li Yuwei glanced at Zhou Mubin, raised an eyebrow, and said, "What do you think?"

Zhou Mubin shrugged. "Looks like I don't need to meddle in other people's business."

At this point, the man stiffened his neck and started cursing, refusing to admit it, "You tomboy, you're stronger than a man, who would want to flirt with you? I just touched the handrail in the passageway as I was passing by, and you deliberately hurt me."

Li Yuwei sneered, taking half a step forward. Her imposing aura made the man instinctively shrink back. "You think touching the armrest can reach my side? Should we check the security camera footage above the seat?"

Upon hearing this, the man's face turned deathly pale. His previously defiant neck slumped involuntarily, his voice suddenly became weak, and his eyes darted away, avoiding Mi Xiaotang's gaze: "This...this surveillance footage...it's not clear at all..."

He loosened his grip on her arm and subconsciously bent his waist. His previous arrogance had completely vanished, and he even sounded a little pleading. "Miss, I... I really didn't mean to. The aisle was just too crowded, and I accidentally bumped into it. Look, my arm is injured too. How about we just let this go?"

The old man in the front row scoffed, "Weren't you so arrogant just now? You chickened out as soon as the security camera was mentioned?"

Chen Mo stood aside, taking in the man's transformation from anger and embarrassment to cowering and dodging, and then looking at Li Yuwei's tough appearance.

Ha, he's even more manly than his fiancé.

...

Li Yuwei handles things decisively and efficiently; men are no match for her.

After getting off the plane, Li Yuwei took the initiative to catch up with Zhou Mubin, saying, "I'm supposed to be your fiancée, so why do I feel more like a stranger to you?"

As Zhou Mubin walked, he said, "This is only the second time we've met, so it wouldn't be wrong to call us strangers."

Li Yuwei has a completely tomboyish personality. She scoffed lightly and walked side by side with Zhou Mubin, "Have you booked the hotel?"

Zhou Mubin looked at her curiously, and Li Yuwei said, "Why are you looking at me like that? I haven't booked a hotel, and I'm too lazy to choose one. Whichever hotel you stay at, I'll stay at the same one."

Zhou Mubin continued to stare at her, and Li Yuwei's expression twisted. "No, what kind of look is that? Damn, you don't have any ulterior motives towards me, do you?"

Li Yuwei was terrified and instinctively took half a step back, feeling extremely disgusted.

Zhou Mubin was speechless. "You're overthinking it. I'm not interested in your type."

Li Yuwei breathed a sigh of relief, took a deep breath, and patted her heart. "That scared me to death. I thought I had dug a hole for myself."
