An awkward silence fell over the table.
Tang Lu quickly said, "No, that boss is single."
Xu Wan laughed and said, "I was just kidding."
During the meal, Xu Wan learned almost everything about Tang Lu's marriage and her husband's situation.
Xu Wan has met quite a few scumbag husbands this year.
It's really rare to see someone like Tang Lu's husband, who is guilty of all sorts of vices.
Fortunately, Tang Lu called the police after being subjected to domestic violence, and the police have a record of their response. She also has a medical examination report from the hospital. This evidence alone is enough for a divorce.
After dinner, Jiang Tingzhou first drove Tang Lu home before going home with Xu Wan.
As soon as Xu Wan got home, she started working with a thick stack of documents, preparing to help Tang Lu with her lawsuit.
She didn't know how long she had been busy.
Jiang Tingzhou came in, placed one hand on the thick stack of documents, and said, "Mrs. Jiang, work is never-ending, it's time to go to sleep."
Xu Wan glanced at her watch; it was almost eleven o'clock.
It's time to sleep.
She stood up, sat on the table, put her arm around the man's waist, and asked with some frustration, "Do you think Tang Lu is stupid?"
"Not just stupid, but terribly stupid."
Jiang Tingzhou blurted out his own assessment.
If she weren't stupid, why would she go to her husband's room for a scumbag husband who has repeatedly hurt her?
Fortunately, he is an upright and honest person. If it were some unscrupulous boss, who knows what might have happened!
“Her parents are divorced, so she lacked love growing up. She just doesn’t want to follow in her parents’ footsteps, that’s why she did this…” Xu Wan pressed her forehead against the man’s chest. “I will definitely help her win the lawsuit and won’t let her be burdened with debt.”
"Once you've finished compiling all the evidence and materials, give them to me, and I'll have an expert in the relevant field take a look and see if there's anything that needs to be improved."
"That's great, thank you, honey."
Xu Wan, who was slightly shorter than Jiang Tingzhou, leaned over and gently kissed the man's Adam's apple.
It was just a small gesture, like a spark falling into a wasteland, and the fire began to spread silently in places unseen.
Jiang Tingzhou lowered his head, cupped the woman's face, and gently kissed her thin lips. "Is this all the thank-you gift?"
Xu Wan kissed the man's lips again as he pressed against hers. "Is this okay?"
"not enough."
Jiang Tingzhou embraced the woman sitting on the table and continued kissing her.
After the first time, Jiang Tingzhou felt like the Monkey King tasting a peach for the first time, wishing he could live in the peach orchard forever.
This time, however, he didn't kiss her too hastily. Instead, he used a gentle approach and a softer strategy to gradually win her over.
"Not here..."
Xu Wan struggled with the last bit of consciousness she had left.
The desk she was sitting on was piled high with books and documents she had just used, many of which were specially marked.
If it gets messed up, we'll have to find it all over again.
“There’s more than just one desk in a study.”
Jiang Tingzhou was initially relieved that he had later placed two desks in his study.
"But there are things you use on there..."
"It's okay, you can mess with my things as you like."
As Jiang Tingzhou spoke, he carried the woman to the table next to him.
He's determined not to leave this study today.
"Wanwan."
Jiang Tingzhou looked at the woman in front of him, her face flushed, his dark eyes filled with tenderness, and asked in a low voice, "You told Tang Lu today that you also want a child, right..."
During dinner that evening, Tang Lu didn't mention her three miscarriages again, but instead asked Xu Wan if she had any plans to have children.
As if afraid that Xu Wan would worry about her, she said specifically, "You don't need to consider my feelings. I just want to know what you think."
Xu Wan replied, "We just got married and haven't thought about these things yet, but it might be nice if we did."
Xu Wan recalled the dinner and gave a soft "hmm," "I like children, but if you don't..."
“I don’t really like children, but if it were a child between you and me, I would like him.” Jiang Tingzhou leaned down and gently bit the woman’s earlobe, asking, “Then let’s… try it today.”
