There was a few seconds of silence on the phone, then the call was immediately disconnected.
Xu Wan thought the man didn't want to see her and was about to call again when the door behind her was suddenly pulled open.
Xu Wan's upper body was pressed against the door, and the moment the door opened, she lost her balance and fell backward.
The man who opened the door quickly bent down to help her.
The moment the two came close, Xu Wan smelled a very strong odor of blood and heard the man gasping for breath as he suppressed his pain.
Xu Wan quickly tried to stand up and instead helped Jiang Tingzhou up, asking, "Has your wound reopened?"
With the lingering smell in the room and the bloodstains on the bedding, Jiang Tingzhou had no way to deny it. He smiled bitterly and said, "Yes, I was bumped into by a clumsy waiter, and my wound reopened."
"How hard must that have been?"
Xu Wan was puzzled.
In her opinion, given Jiang Tingzhou's physical condition, a light bump would not have caused this much damage.
That person must have hit you with tremendous force to cause this to happen.

Jiang Tingzhou deliberately feigned helplessness, not wanting Xu Wan to know about the family's internal conflicts, lest she worry.

Jiang Tingzhou held Xu Wan's hand with one hand, took the phone with the other, and started looking at the information on it.
There were more than 30 missed calls from Xu Wan alone.
He reached out and pulled the woman into his arms, kissing her forehead. "I'm sorry I made you worry."
"I was so worried about you!" Xu Wan finally couldn't hold back her tears and leaned gently against the man's chest. "I called you over and over again just now. I heard the phone ringing inside, but no one answered. I was so worried. I was really afraid something had happened to you inside. I wanted to ask the staff to open the door, but I was afraid you were really resting and I didn't want to disturb you."
Jiang Tingzhou stroked the woman's hair gently and said, "Next time, just come in directly. Here, you can do whatever you want."
Xu Wan carefully moved away. "Do you want to rest a little longer?"
"Need not."
The man spoke while looking down at his phone.
I was originally trying to check if I had missed any messages or calls during this time, but I found that two of the calls Xu Wan made to me were answered. One of them was just now, and the other was in the afternoon.
I was sleeping at that time.
"Did I receive your call this afternoon?" Jiang Tingzhou asked.

“He said he didn’t know…” Xu Wan said, then suddenly remembered, “Oh right, I actually called you after receiving three pictures.”

Xu Wan thought about it carefully before shaking her head and saying, "No, and the number that sent the picture is overseas, so I didn't call it back."
After returning the phone to the woman, Jiang Tingzhou explained, "I didn't want anyone to know about my injury, so I asked Ziyu to find a female doctor and have her dressed like this. Her bag was full of bandages. Nothing happened between us."
