"What?"
Mr. Gu was stunned for a moment, his first reaction being that he doubted he had heard correctly.
"Please wait a moment, Assistant Ning will come down shortly and then take you to President Jiang's office to see him."
The receptionist changed her story.
This time, Mr. Gu was sure he hadn't misheard! He straightened his clothes, stood up straight, and said, "Okay."
He had once wanted to participate in Tianwei Group's major projects, and had come several times, but had never met Tianwei's General Manager Jiang. He never expected to meet him so easily over such a small matter!
Gu's father was already planning how to make the most of this opportunity to get closer to Jiang Tingzhou and help the company reach new heights!
Soon, a young man in a gray suit walked over, approached Mr. Gu, and introduced himself: "Hello, Mr. Gu, I am Ning Hang, Mr. Jiang's special assistant. Mr. Jiang is waiting for you in his office. I will take you upstairs."
Gu's father followed Ning Hang and rode with him in the president's private elevator.
Once in the elevator, Mr. Gu spoke up: "I've come here several times before but never got to see President Jiang. I didn't expect to be able to meet him this time because of this matter."
The elevator ascends quickly and smoothly.
It only took a dozen seconds to rise to the top floor.
Ning Hang pressed the elevator open button, gently blocking the elevator door with his arm, turned to look at Gu's father, and said, "It's not a coincidence, it's that President Jiang is waiting for you."
"Wait, wait for me?"
As Mr. Gu spoke, he had already stepped out of the elevator.
But looking at Ning Hang's expression, he suddenly felt uneasy.
Some unpleasant thoughts began to rise in my mind.
Ning Hang didn't say anything more, he just led the way.
Following behind, Gu's father felt inexplicably panicked.
Soon, they arrived at Jiang Tingzhou's office. Ning Hang knocked lightly twice, then opened the door and said, "President Jiang, President Gu has arrived."
After he finished speaking, without waiting for the people inside to speak, he said directly to Mr. Gu, "Mr. Gu, please come in."
Looking at the half-closed door in front of him, Gu's father felt a chill run down his spine for no apparent reason.
He had once longed to open that door, enter that office, and discuss cooperation with Jiang Tingzhou.
But now that the opportunity is right in front of him, he is somewhat flustered.
Seeing that he didn't move, Ning Hang asked, "Mr. Gu, would you like me to open the door for you?"
"No, no need."
Mr. Gu stood up straight, straightened his clothes again, and finally pushed open the door in front of him.
Jiang Tingzhou's office is very large, with a large desk, sofa, bookcase, wardrobe, and most notably a floor-to-ceiling window facing the door.
It was just past ten o'clock, and the sunlight wasn't too glaring.
Gentle sunlight streamed in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, filling the minimalist-colored office and bringing a touch of warmth to the cool-toned space.
Jiang Tingzhou stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, dressed in a pure black suit, with his back to the office door.
The two of them stood there in the same space, neither of them speaking.
Mr. Gu, however, only felt oppressed.
Just as he was hesitating about how to start the conversation, Jiang Tingzhou turned around and asked him, "President Gu, did you receive the lawyer's letter I sent you?"
"Did you send that?"
Mr. Gu's mind was in complete chaos.
Although he had a vague feeling that there was a chance the lawyer's letter was indeed sent by Jiang Tingzhou, the possibility was extremely low.
With Cao Yating repeatedly stating that Xu Wan could not possibly be involved with Jiang Tingzhou, he lowered his guard.
"Otherwise what? Who do you think would dare to send a lawyer's letter under Gao Han's name?"
Jiang Tingzhou stood with his back to the light, his features hidden in the shadows, but his overall demeanor became even colder.
