Chapter 679 Would you like to come upstairs and sit for a while?

Ji Tong was completely bewildered and quickly looked around to see what was going on.

It's only a little past 8 p.m., and it's just getting dark. How did you fall asleep?

Is this some kind of staged accident scam?

Ji Tong carefully reached out and placed her index finger under the man's nose. Only after feeling his even breathing did she feel at ease.

She thought about how the man had just said he had work in the afternoon and then rushed over. Could it be that he hadn't slept since last night and had been holding on until dinner, and was now at his limit?

this……

Ji Tong felt that she was probably right, and even felt a little embarrassed.

She checked the man's seatbelt, but didn't wake him. She connected her phone to her Bluetooth headset and followed the navigation towards the neighborhood.

The restaurant was about 20 kilometers away from the man's apartment complex. Fortunately, there were few cars at night and the road was relatively easy to drive on, so it took about half an hour to get there.

Gong Yanli only told Ji Tong about the residential area, but not the specific building number.

Ji Tong didn't know exactly where his family lived.

She originally wanted to wake up Gong Yanli and ask him for his exact building number, but after calling him softly several times, the man didn't respond.

Fortunately, the weather was nice in early spring, so Ji Tong simply parked the car on the side of the road and continued playing games while wearing Bluetooth headphones.

-

There's a city inspection going on recently, and Gong Yanli has been at the hospital to prepare for it. She was busy all night yesterday, and although she was planning to catch up on sleep during the day, something else came up, and she didn't even have time to change her clothes before coming to have dinner with Ji's mother.

Out of respect for Ji Tong's family, he remained tense throughout the meal. The fullness of the meal amplified his drowsiness. Sitting in the spacious passenger seat, with his seatbelt fastened, his brain seemed to sense that this was a safe space. Drowsiness overcame him, and he uncontrollably fell asleep.

He didn't know how long he had slept. He vaguely heard someone talking beside him before he regained some consciousness.

Looking around, I realized I was in the car.

While I was sorting through the news of the deaths, I heard a woman's voice next to me say in a low voice: "Don't give up! Give me five more minutes, I can do it!"

Gong Yanli recognized Ji Tong's voice, paused for a moment before remembering the current situation.

He glanced at the sky outside the window before looking at Ji Tong beside him. Just as he was about to speak, Ji Tong noticed that he was awake and said first, "You're awake? I'll take you home after I finish this game."

Gong Yanli adjusted his posture and went to watch Ji Tong play games.

He has never had much entertainment growing up, and his personality is rather dull. Mobile games are a field he has never been exposed to before.

There is a small figure in the middle of the woman's phone.

He watched as the woman's fingers moved rapidly across the screen, the little figure moving back and forth with her movements, and kill notifications popping up repeatedly on the screen.

After about five or six minutes, Ji Tong finally put down his phone, took off his earphones, stretched out his arms and said, "I don't know which building you live in. I was too embarrassed to wake you since you were sleeping so soundly, so I played some games for a while."

Gong Yanli glanced at the time on the car.

He slept for about an hour.

"I'm sorry to have kept you waiting so long," Miyanoko apologized.

Ji Tong shook his head nonchalantly, "It's okay. I told my mom I'd go see a movie. Even if I send you back, I'll just find somewhere to play games. It's all the same, I'll just play games anyway, it doesn't matter where I am."

She started the car and said, "Tell me how to get to your house, and I'll drive in."

Miyahiko gave directions.

The car quickly arrived at the building where Gong Yanli lived.

Ji Tong had parked the car haphazardly on the side of the road and was waiting for Gong Yanli to get out when the man looked at her and said, "It's a bit late, would you like to come upstairs and sit for a while?"

Ji Tong was somewhat surprised.

She really hadn't expected Gong Yanli to invite her upstairs. She blinked and said in a half-joking tone, "What? You're not going to say your cat can do backflips, are you?"

“I don’t own a cat.” Gong Yanli paused and continued, “A movie is about two hours long, and there’s still an hour left. It’s so late, and my house is safer than other places to play games.”
