Chapter 718 "Wife, I miss you so much."

Xiaolin peered over and looked again. The man on the other end of the video wasn't bad-looking, but he had a scar on his face, which was a downside.

Overall, he's not as good as her previous brother-in-law.

In order not to bring up Xu Wan's painful memories, she did not intend to talk about it.

Xiaolin had planned to just take a quick look and leave, but as soon as she leaned closer, Xiaoxiao generously pointed the watch face at her, "Auntie, look, this is my dad!"

Xu Wan had already walked over, intending to smooth things over for Xiaolin.

Xiaolin couldn't mention that her "father" was her "new father" in front of Xiaoxiao, so she could only awkwardly greet him: "Brother-in-law, hello."

When Jiang Tingzhou saw Xiaolin on the other end of the phone, he assumed that Xu Wan had already told her family about their relationship.

He naturally greeted Xiaolin: "Xiaolin, long time no see."

Xiaolin's expression froze instantly.

What's going on?

How did this new brother-in-law know her name was Xiaolin? Did Xu Wan tell him?

Even if they did say so, how could they be so accurate in knowing that they've never met?

Also, why does this person's voice sound a bit like Jiang Tingzhou's?

Countless guesses instantly popped into Xiaolin's head!

When all these guesses converged into one possibility, she blurted out: "You're still... my brother-in-law?"

This sentence sounded nonsensical, but Jiang Tingzhou understood it.

Xu Wan quickly came over and said to Xiao Xiao, "Okay, Xiao Xiao, chat with your dad for a while, and we'll go home soon."

Xiaolin left with Xu Wan.

The two didn't go to the living room, but stayed in the hallway. Xiaolin couldn't help but pull Xu Wan aside and ask in a low voice, "Sister, is that your brother-in-law? I mean, is it the same brother-in-law as before?"

"Yes, I told your mom. I did want to tell you later, but now that you know, it's okay. Just don't tell anyone else. He'll be back in a while, under a different identity."

Xiaolin is now 18 years old.

They're adults now.

Xu Wan believed that she should know what to say and what not to say.

Xiaolin, her eyes brimming with excitement, grabbed Xu Wan's hand and asked, "What happened? Why did my brother-in-law disappear for so many years, and how did he come back? What is his identity now? Is there any twist or turn in the story?"

Xiaolin could hardly believe what she was hearing.

A few years ago, Xu Wan married her brother-in-law as an ordinary person, which she saw as something out of a novel.

Now that my brother-in-law has disappeared for several years and returned under a different identity, this matter is even more bizarre.

Xu Wan smiled and said, "Alright, there's nothing complicated about it. Promise me you won't tell anyone. I'll tell you when he regains his identity as Jiang Tingzhou. Right now, his identity is a secret."

Xiaolin was filled with regret, but she didn't ask any further questions.

Xiaoxiao and Jiang Tingzhou talked on the phone for half an hour.

Xu Wan called her home, and she reluctantly hung up the phone.

Xiaoxiao and Xu Pingrong both go to bed around 9 p.m.

On the way back, both of them were already in a semi-conscious state. Once they got home, they both went to sleep.

Xu Wan returned home, took a shower, and just as she picked up the hairdryer, she noticed a missed call from Jiang Tingzhou on her phone.

She put on her Bluetooth earphones and made a phone call while drying her hair.

The phone rang only once or twice before it was answered.

"Wife," Jiang Tingzhou called out to her first, his voice gentle and soft, "Are you home yet?"

"Yes, I just finished showering and I'm drying my hair," Xu Wan reported first, then asked, "Have you eaten yet?"

She had spent a month with Jiang Tingzhou and was quite familiar with his schedule.

I call him every night at nine o'clock, which is exactly one o'clock in his place, just after he has finished lunch.

"Um."

Jiang Tingzhou agreed.

While drying her hair, Xu Wan said, "Even if I go back to China and no one is watching you anymore, don't push yourself, okay? If you get sick again, I won't come to stay with you."

Xu Wan said that on purpose.

She was afraid that the man would be too eager to recover and would make himself sick again.

"Um."

The man's voice was very soft.

Xu Wan was drying her hair when she heard the man say only one word. She assumed that the sound of her hairdryer was too loud and had drowned out his voice.

She had just turned off the hairdryer and was about to ask the man if he had said anything when...

Jiang Tingzhou said, "Wife, I miss you very much. I plan to go back to China next week."
