Centrifugation
“Brother Jiale,” Lin Zhi gently placed the stack of documents in her hand on the slightly old wooden counter, looked up, and looked at You Jiale leaning against the counter with a questioning look. “I have checked the information of these merchants. There are a few new partners, and their qualifications seem pretty good.”
Yu Jiale leaned against the somewhat old wooden counter of "Leji Delivery" and tapped her fingertips on the table.
You Jiale picked up the top few documents and flipped through them, a smile appearing on his lips. He looked up at Lin Zhi.
"Lin Zhi, you've been with 'Le Ji' for a while now, are you familiar with our operational processes?" You Jiale asked casually.
Lin Zhi nodded, "Yes, I understand the basics. I've learned a lot about order taking, order dispatching, delivery, and liaising with merchants."
You Jiale put down the documents in her hand, leaned forward slightly, and said in a low voice, "It's like this, I've been thinking about expanding our business in the east of the city recently, and I need to talk to a few new merchants about cooperation. This is quite important, and I'm thinking of sending someone trustworthy to be in charge."
He paused, his gaze fixed on Lin Zhi's eyes.
"I think you're quite suitable." You Jiale said with a hint of probing, her eyes also showing a touch of expectation.
Lin Zhi paused for a moment, seemingly a little surprised, but a delighted smile quickly spread across her face.
"Really? Brother Jiale, can I...can I?"
You Jiale smiled and nodded, patting her on the shoulder.
“I trust you. You’re a responsible and meticulous person. This time, when you go to the east of the city, you’ll represent ‘Leji’ and have a good talk with those merchants to try and finalize the cooperation,” You Jiale said, her tone full of trust.
He took out a pre-prepared list of merchants from the drawer and handed it to Lin Zhi.
"Here's the basic information about those merchants. Take a look. Tomorrow I'll explain the specific details of the cooperation and what you need to pay attention to."
"Thank you, Brother Jiale! I will definitely do my best and won't let you down!"
You Jiale looked at Lin Zhi's energetic demeanor, a slight smile playing on his lips. He knew in his heart that his choice of Lin Zhi was partly due to her reliability, and partly a test to see if she could truly stand by his side. After all, Qin Zheng had never been one of his men from the very beginning.
While You Jiale and Lin Zhi were talking, Qin Zheng, standing not far away, witnessed everything. He frowned slightly, a hint of doubt flashing in his eyes. In the past, You Jiale would usually assign him to handle such matters requiring business negotiations, or at least consult with him first. But this time, You Jiale directly entrusted the task to the relatively inexperienced Lin Zhi, which puzzled him.
He recalled that You Jiale used to complain to him about the hardships and difficulties at work, hoping that Zhang Xiande would help "Leji" more through him. But now, You Jiale seemed to care at all.
As evening fell, Qin Zheng arrived at Zhang Xiande's office. Zhang Xiande was sitting behind his desk, intently reviewing a document.
"Boss," Qin Zheng said respectfully as he walked to the desk, "there's something I'd like to report to you."
Zhang Xiande put down the documents in his hand, raised his head, and looked calmly at Qin Zheng.
"What is it?" he asked, his tone calm.
"It's about some arrangements that Assistant You has recently made at 'Leji Delivery'," Qin Zheng said.
He reported to Zhang Xiande about You Jiale's arrangement for Lin Zhi to go to the east of the city to discuss cooperation that afternoon, as well as the recent situation where You Jiale seemed to be intentionally avoiding him at work.
Zhang Xiande listened to Qin Zheng's report without much change in expression.
"You mean, he didn't consult you before directly assigning Lin Zhi to be in charge of the cooperation in the east of the city?" Zhang Xiande asked, his tone revealing neither joy nor anger.
“Yes, boss. And Assistant You didn’t notify me to attend the last few important meetings,” Qin Zheng added.
Zhang Xiande remained silent for a moment, his slender fingers tapping lightly on the table. He seemed to be thinking about something and did not speak immediately.
No matter how strange You Jiale's behavior was after losing her memory, at least in terms of work, she would still take the initiative to communicate and report to him.
"What exactly is he doing?" Zhang Xiande wondered to himself.
He did not directly comment on Qin Zheng's report, nor did he show any obvious doubt or dissatisfaction. He simply said, "I understand. Continue to keep an eye on him and report to me immediately if anything unusual happens."
"Yes, boss," Qin Zheng replied, but he was a little uneasy, unsure of what Zhang Xiande was thinking.
A few days later, You Jiale was carefully inspecting a batch of newly purchased delivery boxes at a temporary storage point for "Leji". Lin Zhi was helping to record the quantity and the time of receipt.
"Brother Jiale, the quality of this batch of boxes looks pretty good; they're much sturdier than the last batch we bought," Lin Zhi said while taking notes.
You Jiale nodded, a satisfied look on her face.
“Yes, this time I specifically found another supplier. Several of the last batch broke down after only a short time, affecting delivery efficiency,” You Jiale said, with a hint of something else in her voice.
He didn't tell Lin Zhi that he had bypassed Qin Zheng and contacted the supplier himself for this batch of delivery boxes. On the finance side, he also changed several material suppliers under the pretext of cost optimization. He also started having trusted finance personnel make backups of some important financial statements.
Just then, a black sedan slowly pulled up in front of the warehouse. The door opened, and Zhang Xiande got out.
You Jiale and Lin Zhi were both surprised to see Zhang Xiande appear and quickly went to greet him.
"Why are you here?" You Jiale asked with a hint of surprise.
Zhang Xiande's gaze swept over the simple storage point and then landed on You Jiale. He said calmly, "I was just passing by and thought I'd stop by."
"With your presence, 'Leji' is truly honored." You Jiale sneered, then rolled her eyes.
“‘Leji Delivery’ is now considered a business under the Zhang family, so naturally I have to inquire about it.” Zhang Xiande put down the box in his hand, turned his head, and looked at You Jiale with a meaningful gaze.
"Assistant Yu is becoming more and more opinionated about his work." The tone was flat, revealing no emotion.
You Jiale, however, understood perfectly; he was being pointed at. "No, I just wanted to do my part for the company."
Afterwards, Zhang Xiande talked with You Jiale about some things related to the operation of "Leji Delivery". It seemed like a routine inquiry, but the questions were very detailed, involving various aspects such as suppliers, delivery routes, and financial management.
During the conversation, Zhang Xiande's gaze would occasionally fall on You Jiale, with a hint of inquiry in it.
You Jiale had already prepared a draft and handled the situation calmly.
Suddenly, as if remembering something, Zhang Xiande asked casually, "By the way, during the last inspection, He Mingzhou seemed to have a pretty good opinion of 'Leji'?"
You Jiale was surprised that Zhang Xiande would suddenly bring up He Mingzhou.
“Yes, Brother He is very professional and offered many valuable suggestions,” You Jiale replied with a smile. This was indeed true; when He Mingzhou came to audit the accounts last time, he did point out several things they hadn't noticed.
Upon hearing this, Zhang Xiande's eyes flashed with a hint of anger, but he quickly masked it, saying, "How precious is it? Tell me."
You Jiale, still smiling, replied with a hint of deliberate teasing, "What, boss, are you also interested in Brother He's opinion? How about we listen together next time? Since Brother He is here, you can ask him for advice in person."
The polite smile that had been playing on Zhang Xiande's lips slowly disappeared.
He snorted coldly, then turned and walked towards the door without looking at You Jiale again.
As You Jiale watched Zhang Xiande turn and leave, the smile on her face slowly faded, and her brows furrowed.
Zhang Xiande clearly didn't care about "Leji," but he did act as if he cared a lot about it. Unable to see through the other person's weakness, You Jiale felt increasingly insecure.
