"If I really join..." You Jiale thought to himself. He needed a reasonable identity to cover up his identity, and the current identity of "Leji Delivery" and "You Jiale" seemed to be a good choice.
First, he can continue to use the identity of "You Jiale" as a cover for his actions, and on the surface, he is still the head of "Leji Delivery" under Zhang's Industrial Group, a hard-working "businessman".
Secondly, "Leji Delivery" itself is a huge information and intelligence network. It covers every corner of the city, and deliverymen shuttle through different streets and alleys every day, coming into contact with all kinds of people.
All delivery order information, destinations, and personnel will eventually be aggregated in his system, making it a natural intelligence gathering system. He can cleverly utilize the operations of "Le Ji Delivery" to provide the organization with timely and accurate intelligence support.
With this in mind, You Jiale's thoughts gradually became clearer. What he needed to do now was figure out how to quietly integrate himself and "Leji Delivery" into the underground organization.
The first step, naturally, was to contact Li Ming.
The second step, after establishing contact with the organization, was to gradually transform "Leji Delivery" into a reliable underground contact point and intelligence station. This required meticulous planning and skillful execution. He needed to have the organization send people to interview delivery drivers. Simultaneously, he needed to establish a secret communication method and intelligence transmission channel to ensure the security and smooth flow of information.
The third and most crucial step is figuring out how to deal with Zhang Xiande's surveillance. Any unusual behavior from You Jiale could alert him and even expose his true intentions.
Completely shaking off Zhang Xiande's surveillance was virtually impossible. To completely conceal one's actions under his nose was nothing short of a pipe dream. Therefore, You Jiale needed to change her strategy; instead of completely shaking him off, she needed to cleverly confuse him.
He took a deep breath and made up his mind. It was time to take the initiative. He picked up the phone and dialed the number on the slip of paper. After a few rings, the phone was answered, and a slightly hoarse male voice came through: "Hello?"
Yu Jiale lowered her voice and said quickly and cautiously, "I've thought it through. I want to join you, but we need to meet to discuss the plan in detail."
There was a few seconds of silence on the other end of the phone, then a voice filled with a mixture of surprise and wariness: "Are you sure? Is now a convenient time to talk?"
“It’s not very convenient. I might still be under Zhang Xiande’s surveillance…” You Jiale looked around and continued in a low voice, “We need to meet in a safe place, preferably somewhere with lots of people around, so that even if we’re being followed, they can’t hear what we’re saying.”
"What do you mean?" The other person was clearly confused.
“A dance hall,” You Jiale said quickly. “Find a lively dance hall and book a private room. There will be people coming and going, and the music will be loud, so no one will notice what we’re saying in the room.”
"Okay." The other person's voice was without the slightest hesitation.
“This is the safest way right now,” You Jiale insisted. “I will tell you which private room I am in. You need to find a way to come in as waiters. You only have a few minutes. After that, you must leave immediately so as not to arouse Zhang Xiande’s suspicion.” He had to be more careful than ever before.
"Understood." The other person's tone became serious. "We will arrange for someone to contact you to confirm the specific dance hall and private room number."
"As soon as possible." You Jiale said, then hung up the phone, his fingertips slightly sweaty. He knew he had embarked on a path full of unknowns.
Two days later, You Jiale received a message and arranged to meet at a dance hall. The deafening sound of jazz music filled the air, and the dance floor was bustling with noise. You Jiale had reserved a relatively secluded private room, ordered a bottle of wine and some snacks, and pretended to be there alone to relax.
Not long after, there was a knock on the door of the private room, and a young man dressed as a waiter walked in, carrying a tray with several drinks on it. "Sir, here are your drinks and snacks." His eyes quickly swept over You Jiale, with a hint of questioning in them.
You Jiale nodded slightly and pointed to the table: "Put it there."
The waiter put down the tray and said, "Hello, Comrade Shanhe."
You Jiale felt a chill run down her spine, but remained outwardly calm as she picked up a glass of wine and replied in a low voice, "Yes, that's me. You came very quickly."
"The situation is urgent, we have to be careful." The waiter lowered his voice and said quickly, "We've received your message. Could you elaborate on the plan you mentioned? We don't have much time."
“My plan is this,” You Jiale put down his wine glass, leaned closer, and spoke in a voice that was almost only audible to the two of them, “I am currently in charge of ‘Leji Delivery’ at Zhang Xiande’s company. It’s an emerging industry that is developing very rapidly and has a huge delivery network and information flow channels.”
“I want to use ‘Lok Kee Delivery’ to provide the organization with a secure intelligence network and contact points,” Yu Jiale continued. “You can arrange for people to apply for jobs at ‘Lok Kee’ as delivery drivers, and I will be responsible for providing them with specialized training so that they can transmit information covertly during their daily delivery work.”
A hint of surprise and contemplation flashed in the waiter's eyes. "That is indeed a very clever method. But can you guarantee that Zhang Xiande's surveillance of you won't extend to the interior of 'Leji Delivery'?"
“I will personally train them to establish our own set of communication codes and delivery methods to avoid being detected by Zhang Xiande as much as possible.” You Jiale said firmly, “Moreover, ‘Leji Delivery’ is developing rapidly now, with a large number of new people joining and leaving every day, which is a natural cover in itself.”
“We need to carefully assess the risks and feasibility of this plan,” the waiter said in a low voice.
“I know this will take time,” You Jiale nodded. “But this is an opportunity, an opportunity to rapidly expand your information network.” He paused, then added, “Remember, I am still under Zhang Xiande’s surveillance, so our meeting today must end as soon as possible.”
“Understood, Comrade Shanhe.” The waiter who spoke first nodded. “We will report your plan as soon as possible and then contact you again to discuss the specific details.” He glanced at his watch. “We should leave now. Take care.”
The waiter casually tidied up his things and then left the private room.
You Jiale watched their departing figures, a sense of relief washing over him. The first step had been taken; now it was up to the organization to react. To avoid arousing suspicion, he picked up the bottle, poured himself a drink, and then ordered a hostess.
Not long after, a scantily clad, alluring hostess walked in with a professional smile on her face: "Sir, how may I help you?"
