Li Tianyi slipped into the cold storage smoothly. A misty, cold air rushed towards him, making him shiver all over and clench his teeth.
"It shouldn't be this cold." He cautiously scanned the distance but found nothing suspicious, and carefully explored forward.
The frozen seafood in the vicinity is becoming more and more abundant, and larger and larger.
Click, click!
Looking toward the strange sound, I saw no living creature, but the frequency of the sound seemed to have increased.
Li Tianyi dared not be careless, gripping his weapon tightly as he peered around the shelves.
The sound suddenly disappeared.
It was very dark ahead, and eerily quiet.
As time went on, the sound of his heartbeat became clearly audible.
"We can't waste any more time, we must find the Blue Ringed Octopus as soon as possible!" A look of worry flashed across Li Tian's eyes as he slowly searched forward.
Clang!
A frozen tuna slid off the shelf.
This triggered a chain reaction, with hundreds of fish weighing thousands of kilograms falling off the shelves.
The rumbling sound continued.
Li Tianyi dodged several times, narrowly avoiding the attack.
The surroundings returned to calm.
After bypassing the mountain of frozen fish, a narrow, dark, and eerie passage appeared ahead.
As soon as I got close, goosebumps instantly rose on my skin, and my vest felt icy cold.
"No matter what's inside, we have to find the Blue Ringed Octopus as soon as possible. My sister is waiting for me to save her life!" Li Tian stepped inside.
The further forward you go, the lower the temperature gets; even the gun itself is covered in frost.
I nervously approached the center, where there was a large, unsized box, and I could vaguely see frozen fish and other creatures inside.
Use the Po Jun pry open the box, and a pufferfish encased in solid ice will appear.
"You're lucky!"
Li Tianyi put it into his system space and continued walking forward, soon acquiring another pufferfish.
I thought I could find another one, but I ended up at the end of the passage, where there was a dark door that wasn't completely closed.
The gap was about five centimeters wide, from which cold air constantly seeped out.
This chill was different from the one inside the freezer; it had a hint of evil about it.
"Should we go in and take a look?" Li Tianyi kept asking himself.
After a brief deliberation, I decided to go in.
I pushed the iron gate, but there was no response. I increased the force, but it still wouldn't budge.
If anyone else had turned and left long ago, Li Tianyi gave a cold smile, placed his hand on the door, and silently said, "Come in!"
The left gate vanished instantly.
Fortunately, it wasn't big, otherwise the items in the system space would have been destroyed.
The headlamp shone inside, revealing nothing but a giant box.
I got closer and poked it with the Po Jun sword, but there was no reaction.
Li Tianyi felt much relieved and slashed at the large lock on the box with all his might.
Clang! Snap!
The box opened automatically, and a strange tentacle attacked.
Retreat rapidly.
The tentacles moved along with it, and the distance between them decreased.
Li Tianyi looked serious. He had used his speed to the maximum, but he was still not as fast as the hand.
He quickly looked around, his peripheral vision catching sight of a pillar in the passageway.
Suddenly, he lowered his head and squatted down.
Boom! Crack!
The pillars shattered like popsicles, and the passageway shook violently.
"It's going to collapse!" Li Tianyi ran outside with all his might, with solid ice constantly falling behind him.
The tentacles finally stopped chasing and retreated back into the large box.
Meanwhile, the commotion alerted the guards, and about a dozen men came over.
Li Tianyi was still running away and had no idea that enemies were approaching. He only looked up after hearing hurried footsteps.
Tap, whoosh!
Bullets rained down like a storm, and all that could be done was to dodge.
"Kill them!" Long Guoyu shouted.
Only then did Li Tianyi get a clear look at the leader's face, and his anger surged to the top of his head. "You little devils, die!"
As a descendant of an anti-Japanese war hero, my first reaction upon seeing the Japanese devils was to kill them all to avenge my fallen compatriots.
Intense firefight ensued.
Li Tianyi seemed to be possessed by a war god, constantly weaving through a hail of bullets. Every time he raised his gun, he took down a Japanese soldier.
"Baka! Baka yarou!" the squad leader roared angrily. "Laboratory One has been attacked! Reinforcements! Reinforcements! Immediate reinforcements!"
The alarm sounded throughout the entire dock...
On the other side.
Fang Yi's face turned extremely ugly. She immediately locked onto a troop transport vehicle and was just about to pull the trigger when she heard the roar of a monster behind her.
He quickly rolled over and pulled the trigger.
The monster instantly collapsed to the ground.
The gunshots reached the ears of the dock guards, who immediately dispatched two squads to surround the tower.
Fang Yi quickly dealt with the nearby monsters and retreated towards the alternative escape route.
"Stop her! Stop her!"
Da da da!
With their escape route blocked by fire, they could only cower in a corner, their hearts pounding with panic. "Calling Li Tianyi, calling Li Tianyi, please respond if you hear me..."
A dial tone came from the communicator.
Suddenly, Ma Youshan's voice rang out: "What's going on?"
Fang Yi briefly explained her current situation.
Ma Youshan immediately rushed to the map, carefully examined the surroundings, and pointed to the ruins of Warehouse No. 3, "Jump down from the seven o'clock position, quick!"
Without hesitation, she jumped.
Near the ground, there's a suspended steel bar; quickly use it to release the pressure.
As soon as they landed, the enemy appeared in their field of vision, and they fought and retreated.
"Charge across the open area ahead, head straight for the harbor, find a ship, and land at eleven o'clock!" Ma Youshan calmly pointed to the map, his brow furrowed.
Fang Yi followed the instructions and escaped, successfully shaking off her pursuers. She was less than fifty meters away from the moored boat.
The monsters roaming nearby had their eyes on her.
Pull out the 0.45 and fire quickly.
Monsters fell one after another, clearing the road ahead.
"I found the boat!" Fang Yi exclaimed breathlessly.
"Be careful on the road, keep in touch!" Ma Youshan blocked the communication and coughed violently. "She's still waiting for me to save her life, we can't afford to waste any time!"
They rushed out of the house and headed straight for the Katyusha position.
Meanwhile, Fang Yi had already reached the eleven o'clock position, but there were countless monsters on the shore.
"Calling Uncle Ma! Calling Uncle Ma!"
"Received, received!"
"Artillery barrage! Artillery barrage!"
Ma Youshan adjusted the firing angle and pressed the fire button before collapsing headfirst.
...
Inside the laboratory.
Li Tianyi had wiped out wave after wave of Japanese soldiers, but his strength was waning, so he lay down to rest in a makeshift trench.
A dark figure was slowly approaching.
Suddenly, the dark figure swung out a long blade, aiming for its head.
Li Tian turned over, a disdainful look on his lips, and with a flash, the Po Jun sword was transferred to his left hand, where he slashed horizontally with all his might.
Sizzle!
"My legs, my legs, ah..." the Japanese soldier said.
The dark figure clutched its broken legs, howling in terror.
Li Tianyi's eyes were bloodshot as he swiftly severed the enemy's tendons and asked in a stern voice, "What are you researching here?"
The shadowy figure stared intently at him, without uttering a word.
"You won't talk, huh?" Li Tianyi's lips curled into a devilish sneer as he delivered a powerful blow to Li Tianyi's other leg. "Talk or not?"
"I'll talk, I'll talk!" the Japanese soldier cried out in Mandarin, desperate to save his life. "Research, research on demonized, gene-engineered beasts!"
"Damn it, those Japanese devils, they're insane!" Li Tian's eyes were filled with hatred...
