Chapter 64 Cooperation

Chapter 64 Cooperation

The students in the classroom, with the National Day holiday approaching, were already thinking about other things.

"How come it's only Monday? I wish I could sit in the classroom for ten minutes and have a twenty-day holiday. Please, time, hurry up and let it be Wednesday."

This week we only need to attend school for three days, and then we can have a holiday.

The person in front of him was talking quite loudly, which distracted Zhu Fan from the lecture.

Yi Jia nudged her with his elbow, "What are we having for lunch?"

She skipped her own elective course to come and accompany Zhu Fan to class.

Other people's classes are more enjoyable.

Zhu Fan put down his pen and took a sip of hot water: "You've been asking this question since the first lesson?"

As Yi Jia heard Zhu Fan's voice growing increasingly hoarse, he peeled a throat lozenge for her.

Zhu Fan, with a throat lozenge in his mouth, pulled his mask up again. "Let's eat in the cafeteria."

Fang Qizhou wasn't there, so she planned to go back to her dorm for a nap after lunch.

Afternoon classes will continue until 5:30.

Yi Jia picked up a floret of broccoli from Zhu Fan's plate with her chopsticks.

Zhu Fan coughed, trying to stop Yi Jia.

Her chopsticks touched it.

Yi Jia didn't care at all about being infected. "Don't worry, I'm perfectly healthy."

What are your plans for the National Day holiday?

Zhu Fan pulled up the National Day schedule that her grandmother had posted in the family group chat and showed it to Yi Jia.

Grandma is preparing to take her granddaughters to Northern Europe.

Yi Jia sighed, "It's all the same, we can't escape being arranged."

Zhu Fan picked up his plate and said, "Let's go."

She couldn't eat anymore.

In order to lose weight, Yi Jia strictly controlled her diet and only ate a box of salad.

-

Zhu Fan entered the dormitory and almost bumped into Rong Lewei, who was emotionally agitated and making a phone call as she left the dormitory.

"I'm not even twenty yet, and you're already forcing me to go on blind dates? Are you trying to emulate the Ming family by selling their daughter to pay off debts—"

"If you don't want to go on blind dates, then you should find us a rich husband yourselves."

"A girl's youth is only worth a few years."

The sound of her mother's voice on the receiver made Rong Lewei feel as if she had been slapped several times in front of Zhu Fan.

Rong Lewei gripped the phone so tightly that her fingertips turned white.

Zhu Fan stepped back.

Rong Le rushed out of the dormitory, her voice choked with sobs. "You all tell me to learn this and that, but why don't you learn from other people's parents?"

Zhu Fan had just stepped into the dormitory when Rong Lewei slammed the door shut behind her.

Chao Man, wearing headphones, didn't even look up when she heard the loud door slam.

As Zhu Fan walked past her, she tossed him an orange.

Zhu Fan smiled and said thank you.

From time to time, the sound of Rong Lewei arguing fiercely with her family could be heard from outside the dormitory hallway.

Zhu Fan changed into her pajamas and lay down on the bed.

After Rong Lewei finished her phone call and returned, she cried quietly all afternoon.

Zhu Fan woke up from his afternoon nap feeling listless.

I still want to sleep; I haven't had enough sleep.

With her eyes red and swollen, Rong Le stopped Zhu Fan, who was about to leave the dormitory, and said, "Ming Yazhi got her marriage certificate with a wealthy man in his forties this morning."

Zhu Fan remained silent.

This has nothing to do with her.

Rong Le bit her lip until it bled. "This old pervert doesn't treat Ming Yazhi like a human being at all."

Zhu Fan bypassed her and left the dormitory.

Rong Lewei grabbed her arm, her expression pleading and ingratiating, "You two used to be so close, could you help her?"

"Zhu Fan, please help her, I beg you."

Zhu Fan pursed her dry lips. "Are you out of your mind or am I out of my mind that you want me to help someone who stabbed me?"

"If you're so kind, why don't you go and rescue her from her predicament?"

Rong Le's chest heaved violently, and under Zhu Fan's cold gaze, she released her grip on her arm.

-

After finishing his afternoon classes, Zhu Fan left the classroom feeling dizzy and unsteady.

The driver was already waiting at the school gate.

When she got home, Meng Yin was greeting guests.

Zhu Fan put the mask she had taken off back on her face.

Meng Yin pulled her daughter to sit on the sofa, first checking her over from head to toe, and then touching her forehead.

Zhong Fei put down her coffee cup and greeted Zhu Fan with a smile.

Zhu Fanchao smiled and realized that she was wearing a mask.

"Miss Zhong."

Zhong Fei smiled, "You can call me Zhong Fei. Do you mind if I call you by your name?"

Zhu Fan shook his head.

Meng Yin placed her hand on her daughter's forehead.

Zhu Fan leaned on her mother's shoulder, "I don't have a fever."

"Why is your voice so hoarse?"

Meng Yin quickly poured her daughter a cup of hot water.

Remembering that she needed to go upstairs to get something for Zhong Fei, she stood up and said, "Afan, Mom is going upstairs to get something. Can you help Mom entertain the guests?"

After Meng Yin went upstairs, Zhong Fei took a sip of coffee and said softly, "I'm so envious."

"I envy you for having such a wonderful mother."

“My mother abandoned my brother and me when I was very young and remarried.”

Zhu Fan held the hot water, unsure how to respond.

Zhong Fei opened her phone and showed Zhu Fan a photo of her brother.

The man sat in the driver's seat of the red race car, dressed in a black racing suit, with silver hair casually falling over his forehead, obscuring his face.

Zhu Fan: "Your brother must be very handsome."

Zhong Fei rested her chin on her hand and said, "Yeah, he's very handsome. He was the school heartthrob from elementary school to university."

"But he also abandoned me and didn't want me anymore."

Zhu Fan swallowed back the words that were on the tip of her tongue: "You two must have a very good relationship."

Zhong Fei blinked lightly, "We have a very good relationship."

The woman's features were soft and delicate. Because of the close proximity, Zhu Fan could see the fine hairs on her face, and her black eyes seemed to be able to see into people's hearts.

Zhu Fan lowered her head and took a sip of hot water. "Does your brother really like racing?"

Zhong Fei hummed in agreement, "I like it like it to death."

Zhu Fan thought of Fang Qizhou.

He also loves racing.

Zhong Fei's lips curved into a beautiful smile. "We might be thinking of the same person."

"Fang Qizhou also loves racing, he loves it to the point of being reckless."

"I first met him when I was thirteen at my brother's racing club."

"Later, because her mother got sick, I became Aunt Luo's psychologist."

"Actually, I learned psychology from books, so it didn't help Aunt Luo much. But Aunt Luo likes me very much. Every time I go to visit her, she is very happy. This is my third year as Aunt Luo's psychologist."

Zhong Fei showed Zhu Fan a photo of herself and Aunt Luo.

"Isn't Aunt Luo incredibly beautiful?"

Zhu Fan rubbed the cup with his fingertips. "Is Aunt Luo's illness very serious?"

"It's very serious; they often do things that harm themselves."

Zhong Fei noticed Zhu Fan's quietness. "At the banquet last time, you and Fang Qizhou seemed very close."

Zhu Fan couldn't suppress the itch in his throat and coughed a few times, turning his head to the side.

"We are dating."

Zhong Fei's dark eyes were fixed on her, with an indescribable allure. "It seems you two have only been together for a short time. You don't know much about him."

Zhu Fan covered her lips, her throat itching terribly.

Meng Yin stopped coughing only after she went downstairs.

Zhong Fei helped her fill the cup with hot water.

Zhu Fan said in a hoarse voice, "Thank you."

Zhong Fei handed her the water glass, saying, "You're welcome."

Meng Yin looked at Zhong Fei apologetically, "Miss Zhong, I can't quite remember where I put that set of Australian white pearl jewelry. I'll give it to you when I find it."

Zhong Fei put down her coffee, stood up, and said it was alright.

“I have completed four years of study at the music academy and now I have a lot of free time. If Mrs. Zhu’s winery needs a performance, I will make time for you.”

Meng Yin runs more than one winery, and the wineries regularly host banquets.

She has always wanted to find a musician with whom she can collaborate long-term.

Today, Zhong Fei brought a gift to thank her for the wine she sent.

She was delighted to hear that Zhong Fei was willing to establish a long-term partnership with her.

After dropping Zhong Fei off, Meng Yin returned home and asked her daughter, who was sitting quietly on the sofa drinking water, "Afan, have you lost anything from your room recently?"
