Chapter 140 Spring Day (End of Main Text)
On the first day of the Lunar New Year, Zhu Fan woke up and before she could even check her phone, she was startled by A Yuan, who had crawled into her bed.
Zhu Wan had been playing in the snow all morning with the neighborhood kids, and now she was tasked with waking her older sister up, so she deliberately hugged her sister with her cold body.
"Sister smells so good, she's so soft, and I want to hug her so much."
Zhu Fan didn't push A Yuan away, but let her hug him to keep warm.
She glanced lazily at the time on her phone.
It's already 10 a.m.
Zhu Wan hugged her older sister and said mysteriously, "Sister, Mom and Dad have arranged your marriage."
Zhu Fan blinked.
Zhu Wan smiled happily, "Sister, you have a fiancé."
Zhu Fan propped himself up and sat up, his head still a little fuzzy from not being fully awake.
Zhu Wan didn't keep you in suspense: "Uncle Fang and brother-in-law came to wish you a Happy New Year early this morning, but they knew you were sleeping in, so they didn't come to wake you."
"They talked for a long time in the study."
Zhu Fan got up and tidied up as quickly as possible, then went downstairs and politely greeted Uncle Fang, who was sitting on the sofa chatting with his mother.
Fang Zeheng smiled and handed her a large red envelope.
Seeing her daughter rushing downstairs, Meng Yin didn't stop her and let her sit down and chat.
She smiled and pointed outside the villa, "Your dad and Xiao Zhou are shoveling snow outside."
Zhu Fan ran out and saw Fang Qizhou holding a shovel in the garden. She threw herself into his arms.
Afraid of hitting her with the shovel in his hand, Fang Qizhou let go of the shovel the moment she ran over and hugged her tightly.
Zhu Fan looked up at him, her eyes sparkling.
"Fang Qizhou, you came to propose marriage without telling me."
Fang Qizhou kissed her forehead. "I'm here to marry into the family."
Zhu Fan blinked.
Fang Qizhou smiled and said, "We'll get our marriage certificate when we reach the legal age."
In his future plans and schemes, there is only Zhu Fan.
Zhu Fan was his only guiding light.
Zhu Fan hugged his waist, her heart as soft as cotton candy.
"Uncle Fang agrees to let you marry into his family?"
Fang Qizhou hugged her and spun her around. "He can't make decisions for me."
Zhu Fan smiled and said, "Then I need to work hard to earn money and save up to marry you."
Fang Qizhou rubbed his nose against hers, saying, "I'm very cheap."
He wanted to say that he was very good at making money, and that these things could be handed over to him.
Zhu Fan could tell what he was thinking at a glance.
She pointed to herself and said, "I'm going to make something of myself someday. Who are you looking down on?"
A laugh escaped Fang Qizhou's throat.
Fang Zeheng listened to the young couple planning their future, smiled, and went inside without disturbing them.
The flower branches, weighed down by the snow, bent into a pristine arch. When the wind blew, they rustled down a shower of tiny, silvery glints, carrying with them a joyful, fluttering dance.
After lunch, Fang Zeheng took his leave.
Zhu Fan watched Fang Qizhou get into the car, smiled and made a promise to him that she would go and keep him company after the New Year's greetings and social interactions at home were over.
With guests constantly arriving at the house, Zhu Fan and Zhu Wan were taken by their father back to the old house in the afternoon to wish their grandmother a Happy New Year.
It wasn't until after the eighth day of the first lunar month that Zhu Fan finally had a completely free time.
But during this time, she would visit Fang Qizhou whenever she had time, and the two even went to an amusement park together once.
Upon seeing Fang Qizhou waiting at the entrance of the residential area, Zhu Fan got out of the car.
She told the driver who brought her here to go straight home.
Fang Qizhou's fine black hair fell across his forehead, slightly obscuring his cold and languid eyebrows and eyes.
He took her drooping hand, brought it to his lips and kissed it, his eyes filled with tenderness.
Zhu Fan smiled and shook their intertwined hands. "Fang Qizhou, I'll dedicate all my time to you until the start of the semester."
A black Bugatti stopped as it passed the two men.
Zhu Fan glanced at him sideways.
The car window rolled down, and Wenhe smiled at the little girl, his gaze falling on her and her boyfriend's clasped hands: "Long time no see, Happy New Year."
Zhu Fan wished Wen He a Happy New Year.
She introduced Wenhe to Fang Qizhou, "This is Brother Wenhe, who is also our upstairs neighbor."
She pointed to Fang Qizhou beside her and said with a smile to her brother Wenhe, "This is my fiancé, Fang Qizhou."
Fang Qizhou looked up at the man in the car; his expression was cold and indifferent.
Wenhe nodded slightly to him.
Zhu Fan noticed that Wenhe had dyed his hair a new color and complimented him, saying it looked great.
Wenhe smiled brightly, "Thank you. Would you like me to give you a ride?"
Zhu Fan shook his head: "No need, it's just a short walk, we can just walk in."
Fang Qizhou tickled her palms, making them a little itchy, so she stopped chatting with Brother Wenhe.
During the Spring Festival, Fang Qizhou was also dragged by her to watch a lot of Wenhe's singing variety shows and that very popular travel variety show.
She was thinking about how Brother Wenhe had helped her last time, and she hadn't properly thanked him yet.
She could send him some fruit and have her mother prepare two bottles of good wine to send over.
The door slammed shut behind them, completely isolating them from the outside world.
Before the shadows in the entryway had dissipated, Fang Qizhou had already pinned Zhu Fan against the cool door panel, and his kiss landed without warning.
It carried the chill of winter's return and the lingering coldness in their clothes.
His lips and teeth were moistened by melting snow, and his breath was hotter and more urgent than his own.
They kissed their way into the bedroom and sank into the bed.
Fang Qizhou rested his arm on Zhu Fan's head, his voice low and hoarse, his eyes filled with lust: "Are you still thinking about other men?"
Zhu Fan buried her face in the pillow and laughed out loud. Fang Qizhou had a cold face on his way back to the apartment, but as soon as he entered, he kissed her urgently and fiercely.
It's like a jealousy jar has been overturned.
He silenced the laughter with a kiss.
Zhu Fan: "Hmm..."
Her burning lips moved downwards…
Zhu Fan ran her fingertips through his hair, her eyes reddening, and gently shook her head.
He gently bit her fingertip.
The white roses on the windowsill unfolded their petals one by one.
Zhu Fan arched his back and buried his face in the pillow.
…
Fang Qizhou wiped away the fine beads of sweat from her forehead.
...
After satisfying himself, Fang Qizhou used his damp fingertips to brush away the sweat-soaked strands of hair from her cheek and gazed into her half-closed eyes. He gently pushed a simple ring onto her middle finger.
The cool touch made Zhu Fan raise his hand.
Fang Qizhou placed another men's ring into her palm.
She raised her arm and put it on him.
Zhu Fan traced his defined jawline with her fingertips, her voice soft: "Super invincible... the ultimate jealous king."
To Zhu Fan's surprise, Fang Qizhou dyed his hair cherry blossom pink the next day.
This cherry blossom pink color lasted until spring.
After finishing her classes for the day, Zhu Fan came to the laboratory building to pick up Fang Qizhou.
Fang Qizhou was already waiting for her in front of the laboratory building.
The cherry blossoms along the roadside were like snow.
Fang Qizhou stood under the cherry blossom tree, his shoulders covered in falling petals.
Light and shadow danced around him, so gentle it seemed unreal.
Zhu Fan approached Fang Qizhou, plucked a petal from his hair, and nudged his arm: "When are you going to dye this hair back?"
"Tired of seeing it?" Fang Qizhou raised an eyebrow slightly.
"I touched up the color three times, it damaged my hair." She squatted down, grabbed a small handful of clean cherry blossom petals, and deliberately sprinkled them on Fang Qizhou's hair.
Fang Qizhou didn't care about damaging his hair at all. He hooked Zhu Fan's fingers that were playing with his hair and said, "Stop messing it up. Go back and play with me instead."
"Fang Tiantian, be serious."
Fang Qizhou held her hand, and they strolled slowly through the shower of petals. His dark eyes held the warmth of spring, and his smile was both wild and languid.
The setting sun cast long shadows of the two figures leaning against each other.
