Chapter 131 Separation Anxiety

Chapter 131 Separation Anxiety

Fang Qizhou's lips were dry and chapped, and when Zhu Fan leaned in to kiss them, she didn't taste softness and sweetness.

Afraid of aggravating her abdominal injury, Fang Qizhou bent his waist very low, gently supporting her slender waist with one hand, kissing her with wet and slow kisses, as if touching fragile morning dew.

Zhu Fan opened her eyes and placed her fingertips on the side of his neck.

Fang Qizhou did not close his eyes.

His dark eyes were deep and intense, almost greedily taking in her scent.

His gaze was tangible, as if he wanted to chew her up, swallow her whole, and make her a part of his very being.

Their lips met, and neither of them pulled away.

“Fang Qizhou,” Zhu Fan said softly, leaning closer to him again, “you’ve become bitter.”

Fang Qizhou pursed his lips, his fingertips unconsciously wiping the corner of his mouth, and turned his head to avoid the kiss that was coming after him.

Zhu Fan's lips were still as soft and sweet as she remembered.

Zhu Fan understood the emotions in Fang Qizhou's eyes.

He refused to let her kiss him because he said he wasn't sweet enough anymore.

But she wanted to kiss him again.

Fang Qizhou's gaze fell on the nutritious porridge on the bedside table.

He picked up the nutritious porridge, scooped up a spoonful, and gently brought it to Zhu Fan's lips.

Zhu Fan raised his eyes and looked at the spoonful of porridge.

She took the porridge and spoon from Fang Qizhou's hand and put them back on the table: "I'll drink it when it cools down a bit. Are you hot?"

Fang Qizhou was still wearing winter clothes.

Under her gaze, Fang Qizhou took off his winter clothes, leaving only the blue striped shirt under his sweater.

Zhu Fan looked at him closely.

Fang Qizhou looked noticeably thinner, and his loose shirt appeared somewhat baggy.

She stared at him without blinking.

She missed him so much.

I can never get enough of looking at it.

She felt uncomfortable sitting in one position for too long, so she braced herself against the bed and tried to adjust her posture.

Fang Qizhou stuffed a pillow into her back.

Zhu Fan tilted her head back and successfully stole a kiss on his lips.

The girl's eyes were bright and clear, her beautiful pupils filled with a honey-like light that flowed clearly.

"Fang Qizhou, you've become sweeter again."

In Fang Qizhou's eyes lay a surging, deep sea.

He lowered his head, wanting to bite her lips, to kiss her deeply, and to savor her sweet softness.

The person who was going crazy with longing now sat on the hospital bed, looking up at him. His body, beneath the oversized hospital gown, was as thin as a sheet of paper. His wrists peeked out from the wide sleeves of the gown, so thin they looked as if they would snap at the slightest touch.

Finally, his Adam's apple bobbed, and he simply pulled her into his arms.

Zhu Fan leaned her head against Fang Qizhou, a smile appearing on her face. "Have you eaten?"

Fang Qizhou picked up the nutritious porridge again, brought the spoon close to his lips, blew on it to warm it before putting it on her lips, and said, "I ate on the plane."

Zhu Fan sipped the porridge he fed her, her gaze meticulously measuring his changes inch by inch.

"Fang Qizhou," she swallowed her porridge, her voice soft but earnest, "you've lost so much weight, you must not have been eating properly."

Not only did I not eat properly, I also didn't sleep well.

When Ji Shu half-pushed open the door, this was the scene she saw: the boy was sitting beside the girl, patiently feeding her porridge spoonful by spoonful.

There were bodyguards guarding the door.

Ji Shu quietly closed the door without going in.

With Fang Qizhou around, Zhu Fan could see no one else.

After drinking a small portion of porridge, Zhu Fan shook his head.

Fang Qizhou didn't use a spoon; instead, he drank the remaining porridge from the bowl, focusing on the rim.

He removed the bedside table.

Zhu Fan moved to the side and reached out to pull him onto the hospital bed.

“Now,” she said, pressing Fang Qizhou down on the hospital bed, her voice soft but firm, “you get a good night’s sleep.”

He lay on his side in the narrow hospital bed, leaving most of the space to Zhu Fan.

Zhu Fan was afraid he would fall to the ground. "Fang Qizhou, don't you have any idea about your height and build? Lie down any closer, or you'll fall to the ground."

Fang Qizhou didn't move, but gently lifted a corner of her dress with his fingertips.

Zhu Fan looked down at her stomach.

The wound was covered with gauze.

"The wound is very small, I promise, I'll be jumping around again in three days."

Zhu Fan lowered his head and said, "Fang Tiantian, go to sleep. Be a good girl."

She's had enough sleep and doesn't need any more.

She was only satisfied when Fang Qizhou was fully lying on the hospital bed.

The air was filled with Fang Qizhou's scent and presence, which put her at ease.

Zhu Fan looked up at Qi Zhou's unclosed dark eyes.

She had a lot to say to Fang Qizhou.

But Fang Qizhou looked too tired.

Zhu Fan reached out and covered his eyes, "I'll stay here and won't go anywhere."

The man's long eyelashes gently brushed against his palm.

After a while, Zhu Fan removed his palm, and Fang Qizhou was already fast asleep.

My phone beeped with a message tone.

Fang Qizhou frowned slightly.

Zhu Fan quickly picked up her phone and muted it.

Fang Qizhou slept for a long time.

Zhu Fan replied to the accumulated messages on his phone, explaining to Yi Jia his sudden departure and loss of contact.

She would occasionally look up at Fang Qizhou.

Seeing Fang Qizhou as soon as she looked up made Zhu Fan feel both at ease and tender.

Yi Jia: [You promise me you'll never do something like disappearing without a word again.]

Zhu Fan repeated the important thing three times.

Yi Jia desperately wanted to hear Zhu Fan's voice and see her.

During the three days she couldn't contact Zhu Fan, she considered countless terrible scenarios.

Fortunately, Zhu Fan is alright.

Afraid of waking Fang Qizhou, Zhu Fan didn't answer Yi Jia's call, but typed to her: Fang Qizhou is sleeping.

Yi Jia: [Have you cleared up the misunderstanding? Have you made up?]

Yi Jia: [I feel like I asked a bit redundantly. Fang Qizhou has absolute trust in you, you two must take good care of yourselves.]

Zhu Fan stared at this message for a long time.

She said she wouldn't make Fang Qizhou sad, but she still made him sad.

Yi Jia asked Zhu Fan to chat in the group.

Everyone is very worried about her.

After Zhu Fan replied to the message in the group, the group chat was flooded with messages.

Fang Qizhou's phone kept buzzing with messages inside his down jacket.

Zhu Fan subconsciously looked at Fang Qizhou.

Fang Qizhou was not woken up and was still fast asleep.

A-Yuan was also tagged by Qiu Chen.

In a few hours it will be A-Yuan's birthday.

Zhu Fan put down her phone and wanted to go to the restroom.

She carefully pulled her hand out of Fang Qizhou's palm.

The next second, as if by instinct, the sleeping man grabbed her hand tightly.

"Fang Qizhou, I'm not leaving, I need to use the restroom."

As Zhu Fan spoke, she felt Fang Qizhou's grip on her loosen.

Zhu Fan quietly got out of bed.

She took Fang Qizhou's phone out and silenced it before going to the bathroom.

After leaving the restroom, Zhu Fan closed the ward door and answered a phone call from her grandmother.

Zhong Fei and Guan Jun, who fled abroad, have been apprehended and will face legal consequences.

The day after the police tracked down Guan Jun, he was killed by a criminal gang in Myanmar. Zhong Fei, having lost her protection, suffered inhuman torture and was found by the police barely alive.

Following Guan Jun's lead, the police investigated and, after two months, finally apprehended the entire criminal gang. Zhong Fei, however, was guilty of far more than just kidnapping; she had also hired someone to commit murder, constituting both kidnapping and intentional homicide, and was sentenced to life imprisonment for both serious crimes.

But that's a story for another time.

With the kidnappers captured, Zhu Fan felt a great weight lifted from his shoulders.

Aunt Shu told her family that she had undergone surgery.

Grandma asked about her health on the phone, and Zhu Fan assured her that she was fine and recovering well, which put Grandma at ease.

The phone call lasted for more than ten minutes.

By the time Zhu Fan hung up the phone, it was already dark in Melbourne.

Fang Qizhou, who was fast asleep in the ward, had a furrowed brow and reached out to touch his side.

Before he could touch Zhu Fan, Fang Qizhou's sleepiness vanished instantly.

He sat up straight out of bed.

Fang Qizhou searched the room frantically, much like a large dog left alone in an unfamiliar place, at a loss.

Zhu Fan opened the door and came in. Seeing this scene, she quickly said, "Fang Qizhou, I was on the phone just now. I was afraid of disturbing you, so I went outside to answer it."

Zhu Fan's voice eased the coldness and anxiety in Fang Qizhou's dark eyes somewhat.

Zhu Fan quickly approached him.

Fang Qizhou took her hand and gently rubbed his chin against the back of her hand.

The anxiety in his eyes hadn't completely faded.

Zhu Fan lowered her head and touched Fang Qizhou's slightly messy black hair from sleeping.

Her heart softened completely. She ran her fingers through his hair and soothed him in a soft voice, "I won't leave your sight. If I need to go to the bathroom or answer the phone, I'll wake you up."

At this time, Zhu Fan was unaware that Fang Qizhou's separation anxiety towards her would be so severe.
