Chapter 2

Chapter 2

The singing and dancing had stopped, but the voices continued. All around, people were shouting the same name—"Gu Luoyan"—one after another.

It was at this moment that the girl matched the name in the call with the beautiful figure on the high platform.

She couldn't explain the feeling. When she saw that "Gu Luoyan", she was simply astonished, yet also a little curious.

After all, she was only here once, so she should just follow her heart. This was also the warning of the tribe.

With a thought, the spell was broken. The old woman, who had been standing there in a daze, suddenly came to her senses. She stared around, unable to recall how she had ended up there. Then, seeing the maid in green, she remembered her business and blamed her for her presence: "How dare you come here to watch a show, you little girl! I think you can't dream of being a concubine anymore. Just be a lowly servant!" She tried to pull her ear, but she dodged easily.

Just said: "I will go by myself."

The old woman scowled, her anger rising. Just as she was about to reprimand the man, she noticed something strange in his eyes. His pupils slowly shrank into a slit, and his face began to distort.

The words were on the tip of my tongue, but then they were forgotten, and only fear swept through my body.

The old woman's face twisted into a distorted expression, as she shrieked, backing away. The girl didn't understand why she was so awful, but when she noticed something was wrong with her, she realized something was amiss. She rushed over, hugged the old woman, and blew on her, sending the frightened woman into a faint.

She knew she was hungry. Having failed to steal the chicken, her spirit was unstable, and she was about to reveal her true form. She looked around, but saw no food. Although the faint aroma of food lingered at the tip of her nose, it was too far away, and she knew she couldn't make it.

By this time, most of the people had left, but the place was still bustling. She couldn't imagine what she would look like in her fox form. She was helpless, holding only the old woman in her arms.

The girl suddenly paused for a moment. When she looked up again, a cold light flashed in her eyes.

She helped the old woman up and dragged her, pretending to walk, out of the hall, into the side corridor, and into a small room.

When the door was closed, his hands had turned into fox claws.

The light from outside the door mixed with the noise came into the room a little. The room was pitch black and only a rustling sound could be heard.

With the help of a beam of light shining through the crack of the door, I looked inside——

It has reddish-brown fur and a fox face. It is wrapped in a green robe and is lying on an old woman.

The fox opened its mouth slightly, prying the woman's lips and teeth apart, and suddenly a bright white air came out of the woman's mouth and flowed towards the fox.

Then the fox ears trembled, as if a smile appeared on its face.

·

There was a creaking sound.

She emerged from the doorway, a faint blush on her face. She covered her face with her sleeves as if in a state of contentment, then quickly returned to normal.

The girl carefully lifted the hem of her skirt and turned her eyes to the various men and women walking around. Some were hugging, some were walking in ambiguous postures, and they were whispering something she didn't understand.

The girl only felt the drunkenness and the gentle swaying of the folding fan.

She stood up, her back to the visitor, and imitated the frivolous manner of other women, twirling the hem of her skirt and swaying it gracefully. The cyan color flowed over her waistline, revealing a charming scene. She watched for a while the flirting couple in the corridor.

Then, her gaze changed. It lost its purity, became misty, and like so many other women in the Hong Kong Coliseum, she used her eyes to probe a man's heart.

She thought it was funny, and just because it was funny, she imitated it. But within a stick of incense, everything returned to normal.

Without the old lady to lead the way, she wandered around aimlessly, somewhat lost.

Suddenly, I walked into a secluded spot. A towering peach tree stood in the center of the courtyard. Several lanterns hung from its branches, flickering. The wind blew the peach blossoms into a whirlwind, and the bright moon in the night sky was beautiful.

With just one glance, she could confirm that the peach tree was indeed spiritual. Some kind of magic must have been cast upon it, aiding its growth. However, it was merely a trick, a deceptive tactic. At least it hadn't yet reached the level of a human form, far inferior to her own.

Down the hallway, a man stumbled in. The strong smell of alcohol on him drew her attention. She took a step back, covering her breath in disgust.

The man was wearing flowing cloud boots embroidered with gold patterns. His hair crown was a little askew, his clothes were disheveled, he was holding a wine jar in his hand, and his steps were unsteady.

The girl deliberately hid herself and only watched him from the dark.

The man walked into the courtyard drunkenly, raised his glass to the moon in the sky, and shouted, "Gu Luoyan! Come out... and have a drink from me!"

No one answered him.

"Come out and drink with me!" He hurried forward a few steps. The jug in his hand lost its balance and fell, tumbling to the ground, his head bruised and bruised.

He knelt on the ground, watching the peach blossoms drift down from the branches. His voice trembled, and there was a hint of grievance in his words: "Come out... I want to see you."

The moon shone brightly, the unsaturated wine on the ground reflecting the faint blossoms. The wind stirred, and soon the flowers moved too. The girl, hiding behind the pillar, narrowed her eyes. The fragrance of the peach blossoms began to gather in the courtyard, carrying the faint enchanting power of the petals into her mind through the wind.

The man stopped crying. After a gust of wind, he felt only a dry mouth and a burning sensation all over his body. He was busy undressing, but then something struck him and he hurriedly reached for his wallet.

"I'll give it all to you... I'll give it all to you, Gu Luoyan, please, just see me..." He poured out the silver coins from the pawnshop like crazy, and the coins tinkled on the ground. He then threw away the jade pendants and jewelry on his body, and even scattered a large bag of gold on the ground.

Peach blossoms give rise to desire. Girls can see things that ordinary people cannot see, such as the Hanyang spirit that evaporated from the man and drifted to the roots of the tree, becoming nutrients to nourish it.

The door behind the flower tree opened gently, and a light was lit in the small attic.

The woman in silk clothes, with her hair untied, walked lazily to the railing, looking down at the man kneeling below.

Two maids straightened her clothes, put her robe on, and supported her on both sides.

She hadn't put on her make-up, but she was still stunningly beautiful. She leaned against the railing, gazing at the people below, her eyebrows curved in a teasing way that made some people in the distance tremble.

The man also saw her, and was overjoyed. He crawled on his knees to get closer to the attic. But he heard her laugh first: "You want to break into a girl's boudoir?"

He was stunned and just stared at her.

The moon receded into the clouds, leaving her alone in her beauty. Gu Luoyan whispered, "Sir, you are drunk." Those words were like a nightmare, a deep sleep, knowing the danger but unwilling to wake up.

Gu Luoyan raised her finger, and the maid bent down to make way for him, then went down the stairs and picked up the gold and silver on the ground.

The man was sweating, his shirt half soaked to the point of his shoulders. He stared at the woman in the attic, fascinated, feeling dizzy. He muttered, "I'm not drunk... You... come down and have a drink with me."

"What did you say?" Gu Luoyan asked him with a smile.

"I said..." He suddenly started coughing and it didn't get better for a long time. His face turned pale and he looked listless.

The maid gathered her belongings and went upstairs again. Gu Luoyan stood up straight, still looking tired.

She said, “You’re really drunk.”

"But I..." The man's face showed panic, afraid that the person would disappear in the blink of an eye.

"Wait, next time." Gu Luoyan stopped smiling, a flash of pity in her eyes. "Next time you see me, sir, remember to bring some money, and we'll go upstairs and chat."

The man prostrated himself on the ground, slowly closed his eyes, and fell asleep.

The girl knew that her yang energy was exhausted and could no longer support her body.

"Send him out of the Hong Kong Coliseum." Gu Luoyan smiled again, "It's best if he doesn't come back."

·

The man was dragged away. She turned around in the attic and glanced at the peach tree in the courtyard with disgust.

The maidservant retreated and carried the man away. Gu Luoyan did not enter the house.

Facing the inner room, she read out, "What's your name, young lady?"

Everything was quiet, the peach blossoms had closed a little. She said nothing more, waiting for an answer.

The girl emerged from behind the pillar, and just then, the moonlight reappeared, casting a radiant glow over her. She looked up at Gu Luoyan and replied, "I have no name or surname."

The person in the attic was stunned for a moment, then turned around and continued to look down at the girl in the yard.

"It's you." Gu Luoyan said, "I saw you in the daytime."

The girl looked at her and nodded.

"Do you know me?" Gu Luoyan asked her.

"Now I know."

"Would you like me to name you?"

"name?"

"Now I know you." Gu Luoyan smiled while leaning on the railing.

She thought for a moment and said, "How about I call you Nianqing?"

She saw her wearing a green dress, and there was a purity in her eyes that was different from her own.

Thinking of you in your youth, I will not enter the world of mortals.

"Then what should I call you?" Nian Qing asked a stupid question.

Bone smoke road:

"what ever."
