Chapter 53

Chapter 53

In the cave of Penglai Peak.

The bat flew back from outside and then disappeared into the shadows.

The man meditating under the stalactites opened his eyes. His eyes were as dark as the night.

He stood up, panicked for a moment, then quickly ran to the cave entrance, transformed his body into a bat, and flew down the mountain.

At the foot of the mountain.

Linggu Village was reduced to ashes, with only a few fires still burning.

The bodies were so charred that no human form could be seen, all the houses were burned down, and the entire Linggu Village had disappeared.

The man emerged from the shadows, his breathing slow and his steps light.

He wanted to shout, but found that his voice was hoarse and he couldn't make a sound.

He walked forward, walking on the dead silence.

Suddenly he saw a burnt hand. He stopped and examined it carefully, then stepped back and took a breath.

The man knew the owner of the severed hand was an old man who planted fruit trees. Every time there was a good harvest, some greedy bats would steal the fruit, but the old man would always smile and not pursue the matter.

The man pursed his lips and clenched his hands into fists. He opened his spiritual power, closed his eyes, and finally found a trace of soul in this scorched earth.

He walked over, used magic to summon the soul, and asked the soul about what had happened.

Then, through the memories of the dead, he saw a picture - fire fell from the sky, people screamed and fled, but their retreat was blocked by the soldiers' swords.

His memory went further. In the picture, he saw a woman walking out from the crowd.

She was dragged away by the soldiers. The old lady knelt down and cried bitterly. The woman who promised him that she would bring happiness to Liu Rujian was struggling and shouting.

He understood a few words, all coming from the mouth of a feminine person.

emperor.

Disaster.

Fox demon.

The man came back to his senses from the obsession of the dead soul, and his black eyes showed blood color for the first time.

He quickly disappeared into the shadows and returned to the North Mountain.

He was very anxious to find the treasures in the mountains. Finally, he came to the hollow of a huge tree and woke up the hibernating black bear inside.

"Bear, you will go to the human world with me."

"The fox has been caught." He held the black bear's paw pads, as if begging.

The flames set the black bear's fur ablaze.

Then the man heard a voice asking him, "How long has it been?"

"Do you know where the fox went?"

The flames soon died down, revealing the figure of a sturdy woman.

"The city south of the northern mountain, I'm worried about her."

The woman walked out of the tree hole with the man. She shuddered at the cold air.

"How do we get there? On foot?"

Before the woman finished speaking, the man had already drawn the magic circle in his hand.

The ground then churned into shadows.

The two fell into the shadows and were carried forward rapidly by the darkness.

·

The shadow did not stop along the way and entered a magnificent palace before the sun rose.

The door to the hall was tightly closed, and the sounds of men and women playing and laughing could be heard from inside.

When a man and a woman in the shadows appeared from the corner, the naked man who was hugging two women on both sides was startled.

The women on both sides wanted to scream, but were silenced by the man.

The young emperor looked at the two of them, sizing them up and down, and a smile appeared on his face. He said:

"Who are you?"

In the man's eyes, the man in front of him was shrouded in golden aura. He knew very well that this man was the Human Emperor.

Then he knelt down and took out several treasures from the shadows. He said:

"Emperor, we mean no offense. We are here only for the fox demon you captured. All this is presented to you. Will you release her?"

"She has never harmed anyone. We have always persisted on the North Mountain. We are not bloodthirsty demons."

The emperor smiled mockingly, looking at the two people in front of him, as if surprised. "Ah, you mean her. Unfortunately, it's not that I don't want to let her go, but she herself doesn't want to leave."

The man raised his head and looked directly into the face of the Human Emperor in shock.

·

Three days ago.

The old eunuch brought Liu Rujian into the palace to meet the emperor. He bowed, a smile on his face, and said to the emperor sitting on the dragon throne, "Your Majesty, I have brought the monster here."

"Well done, reward!" The emperor waved his hand and stood up. He walked down the steps and stared gloomily at Liu Rujian's face.

He suddenly reached out his hand, wanting to touch Liu Rujian's face, but was slapped away. Then his expression froze, and he said with a forced smile, "Do you know who I am?"

"I don't know, and I don't want to know." Liu Rujian turned and looked at him, with her hands protecting her stomach.

"Why did you arrest me?"

The emperor withdrew his hand, looked at Liu Rujian with forbearance, and then walked towards the platform. His voice echoed in the palace:

"Folk legend has it that fox demons are fox spirits, able to control wind and rain and bestow blessings."

"Wouldn't it be a shame to leave such a treasure to the common people?" Jia Yuan smiled and turned around, looking down at Liu Rujian. "I want you to become my Dayun's talisman and be used by me."

"You're dreaming! The Emperor should use his abilities to benefit the people. Relying on evil magic is just courting self-destruction. Heaven will not tolerate you!" Liu Rujian shouted at him, retreating cautiously.

Jia Yuan looked at her jokingly, as if he were looking at a mouse. "You entered the Ming Palace, and you thought you could walk out?"

Eight white fox tails appeared behind Liu Rujian, and blue fireflies appeared in her eyes.

This was the first time she used charm on someone.

"Forget me."

After saying that, the fox turned around, his body turned into green smoke and passed through the door.

She floated upwards, and the sound of wooden fish suddenly rang out throughout the Ming Palace.

The scriptures formed a heavenly net, covering the sky above the Ming Palace.

Liu Rujian appeared and fell down uncontrollably.

A nun in gray stood under the eaves, watching her fall to the ground with a kind look.

The sound of wooden fish accompanied the chanting, and ropes formed around her body.

Liu Rujian struggled for only a moment before losing consciousness.

When he woke up again, he was already in a bedroom.

Their hands and feet were bound by a spell, unable to move. Behind the curtain stood two figures, one tall and one short.

Jia Yuan's voice came: "Abbot, is there any way to trap her in the palace forever?"

The calm female voice then spoke, "There are many ways, but the most important thing is... Your Majesty, this evildoer is pregnant with a child."

"What!" The curtain in front of Liu Rujian was lifted, and she saw Jia Yuan's face that was distorted beyond recognition.

She wanted to open her mouth to make a sound, but found that her mouth seemed to be sewn shut and she couldn't make any sound.

She heard the emperor say to the nun again, "I want to take her as my concubine, but this and that makes me feel disgusted."

Jia Yuan turned his eyes and glared at Liu Rujian fiercely, then the curtains were lowered again. His voice was so deep that it sent shivers down Liu Rujian's spine.

"Abbot, it would be best if we could kill the bastard in her belly."

The nun raised her drooping eyes and said to Jia Yuan with a half-smile, "Killing it is only the most effective way to get rid of this demon. I have a clever plan that will make it willingly serve Your Majesty."

"What is this brilliant plan?"

"Build a golden bell and use divine sound to subdue the child in her womb, turning it into the Emperor Gu."

"If Your Majesty does not allow it, then Gu'er will not even be allowed to enter the lower realm of reincarnation. It will serve you well and become the best means to restrain the fox demon."

"This fox demon has profound magical powers. If I were to be murdered by her..."

The nun laughed, rolling the Buddhist beads in her palm. "Then I will cast a poison on the mother and child. If the mother dies, the child dies. If the child dies, the mother dies. I will also cast another spell on Your Majesty, so that she cannot harm you in the slightest while Your Majesty is still alive."

"Hmph, do it right away. I will satisfy you with whatever you need."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

·

"I think you already know the reason. You monsters are nothing but livestock. Either you rely on me and live, or you will be killed by me and your souls will be destroyed. Think about it carefully."

When Jia Yuan met the man again, he left after saying these words lightly.

The palace maid lifted the sedan chair and silently prepared to move forward.

It was the man who called him.

Jia Yuan looked down from the sedan chair with great interest. He saw the man crawling and kneeling in front of the sedan chair like a pig or a dog, and bowing his head to the ground in a low voice.

His palms tightly grasped the stone slabs on the ground, but his head seemed to weigh a thousand pounds. He leaned his head against the stone slabs and said in a trembling voice:

"Your Majesty, I beg you to grant me a name."

The smile on Jia Yuan's face widened and he laughed out loud.

The sedan chair rose again, and the emperor's voice became ethereal.

"You are quite tactful. I admire you."

"Let's call it Silver Bamboo."

"You must protect this precious treasure of mine."

The heavy breathing almost drowned out Yin Zhu's voice. He spoke in the direction Jia Yuan left:

"Yes, Your Majesty."

·

In the same year, Empress Yuan died of illness.

There was a concubine hidden in the palace who was moved to the cold palace.

The lady was serious and never seemed to get close to anyone.

Liu Rujian sat on the couch with a cold face. She ignored the whispers of the palace servants and finally saw a woman walk in from outside the door.

Liu Rujian raised his hand and dismissed everyone, leaving only the woman and her.

The woman then walked up to her and knelt down, "My Lady, I have done what you asked me to do."

Liu Rujian's expression instantly turned sad. Her eyes turned red and she wanted to cry, but she felt so powerless that she couldn't shed a single tear.

She spoke again, her voice very soft: "How is the eunuch?"

"I threw his upper body on the city wall, and sent his lower body to Linggu Village."

"I will shatter his soul into pieces. He will never be able to enter the cycle of reincarnation again."

"Okay, okay, okay..." Liu Rujian closed her eyes, and after a long time, she let out a breath.

She said, "Yangshan, I am a burden to you."

Yangshan raised his head, walked forward, touched her shoulders, and held her in his arms.

"You, me, and the bat are sworn brothers and sisters. If you are in trouble, how can he and I bear to see you suffer alone?"

Yangshan patted her back gently, and the light in his eyes disappeared.

"Since you can't leave this damn palace, then let us stay with you."

"I must find a way to set Zhier free." Liu Rujian buried himself in Yangshan's arms and swore angrily.

A wisp of white soul floated out of Liu Rujian's mouth and then penetrated into the skin of the person in front of him.

She blessed her.

To protect her from being bewitched by the fox demon again.

She hugged her, crying:

"Yangshan, you are all I have."

·

"ah--"

Screams of pain came from the bedroom.

The emperor had gone on tour, leaving the palace vacant. The palace maids seemed oblivious to the screams.

Liu Rujian was alone in the pool of blood. There was no midwife or doctor to take care of her when she gave birth.

Jia Yuan wanted her to fend for herself, so he poisoned her.

The pain in her waist and abdomen made Liu Rujian's eyes blurry. The blood had dyed the pool water red, and her child refused to come out and was about to drown in her womb.

The poison weakened her connection with the child.

Her breathing seemed to be obstructed, and Liu Rujian knew very well that she was losing her Zhier.

A tear slid down her face and finally fell into the pool of blood.

Liu Rujian began to exert force with his whole body, and his eight tails were covered in blood and shook desperately.

Her spiritual energy began to flow into her abdomen, and white hair began to grow on her face.

The poison was forced out of her body at a great cost, and the tiny baby began to move in her belly.

The pain caused by the baby stretching out his little hands made Liu Rujian feel extremely happy.

Her fingernails extended from her hands, reaching towards her belly under the water.

The belly is opened and a new life is born.

When Liu Rujian lifted the dying Zhier and held her above his head, she finally smiled.

From that day on, she gave herself a new name, Sui Xin.

I wish my baby happiness and good luck in every new year.

Mom is willing to support you with her life.

But before Liu Rujian could even step out of the pool, invisible shackles appeared on the baby's hands, feet, and neck.

The loud sound of a bell came from somewhere in the palace.

It took away a mother's joy and filled her with despair and helpless trembling.

From then on, the Emperor's Gu was formed.

Unless Zhier is killed, the poison cannot be removed.

And Zhi'er is connected to Liu Rujian and her daughter, becoming a mother-son Gu, accompanying them forever.

Liu Rujian was holding Zhier in his arms, not wearing any clothes.

She walked out tremblingly and met the surprised and mocking gazes of the palace people.

The child in her arms did not cry, but instead bit her body like a wild beast.

She raised her head, and the half-human, half-beast face made people step back and scream in fear.

Liu Rujian was so confused and so sad.

No one cared about her dead heart, people ran away and insulted her, which finally made her feel irritated.

A huge mouth rose from the ground, with its sharp fangs standing upright, cutting the fleeing palace maids in two.

She bit and swallowed the food. It was her first time eating a human, and she did it so perfectly that not even a drop of blood was wasted.

The light in Liu Rujian's eyes turned blank.

The blue in his pupils was fogged up. Nothing could be seen.

She knelt down and fell to the ground.

She let the baby in her arms bite her chest/mouth until it was bloody.

She drew nutrition from human flesh, and in turn fed Zhier with her own flesh and blood.

Liu Rujian's hands shook slightly and she hummed a tune.

She closed her eyes and unexpectedly felt a sense of happiness from the tearing pain.

The two damn people who were sent away by the emperor came back at this time.

Yinzhu took off his robe and put it on Liu Rujian.

All the blood and energy in his body entered Liu Rujian's nasal cavity.

Silver Bamboo became the emperor's most enjoyable sword.

He killed so many people that even his eyes were filled with blood-red murderous intent.

Yangshan stood silently beside Liu Rujian, heartbroken and silent, unable to do anything.

When the emperor went on the Eastern Expedition, she led the troops. With the help of sorcery, the army of the Fallen Kingdom defeated neighboring countries and invaded other countries' territories at will.

Their hands were covered in blood, and they could never return to the mountains.

Liu Rujian opened her eyes amidst the whistling wind, looked up at them, and said with a smile:

"Look, Zhi'er is eating me."

"Zhi'er loves me."
