When Shulan woke up, she could tell from the sunlight that it was three or four in the afternoon.
Feeling great after a good night's sleep, she stretched in a good mood.
She fell asleep without even taking off her clothes last night, and now she really wants to eat and take a shower.
Just as she was thinking about changing her clothes and then going to see if there was any food over there, she heard Shimo's voice: "Young Madam, are you awake?"
"You're awake. Come in."
Then Shi Dui came in carrying a plate: "Young Master was worried that Young Madam might be hungry, so he asked me to prepare some food for you."
There was a bowl of steaming noodles, with a rich aroma of chicken broth, and even a plate of white radish, which looked very appetizing.
She was overjoyed: "It's perfect timing, I was just thinking of eating noodles. Please thank your young master for me."
Completely unaware, someone asked her when she wanted to eat, and she mumbled something like chicken noodle soup before falling back asleep.
After a happy meal, I felt warm all over, which made me feel even better.
Seeing that it was almost time, I decided to go and hand over my shift.
But when they got to the mild case camp, they heard a scolding voice inside: "What's wrong with you? How could you be so careless? Don't you know this medicine is very expensive? This is our master's medicine!"
He paused for a moment, then headed this way.
Because the cases here are mild, only the town's doctor and his apprentices are providing treatment.
The intensive care unit was too busy for her to ever go inside.
Upon entering, one sees an eight- or nine-year-old boy dressed as a medicine boy, rudely reprimanding a tense and bewildered man and a three- or four-year-old child on the ground.
Before them lay an overturned bowl of medicine.
The apprentice scolded the child for being careless and wasting their master's hard work, his words even becoming insulting towards the end.
Although others sympathized with the father and son, none of them dared to speak up for them.
In the distance, a middle-aged man who looked to be in his forties or fifties was sitting there, taking pulses like a master.
Shulan scoffed softly.
The sound was quite loud, and it was heard by the young apprentice who was scolding someone. He was not kind to begin with, but when he saw that the person who came was dressed as a well-dressed young master, he was even more displeased.
When someone came in from outside, he hesitated for a moment and asked, "May I ask who you are?"
Shulan said with a half-smile, "That's strange. This all belongs to your master. Don't you know who I am?"
These words startled Li Guangshan, who was busy taking a pulse and hadn't paid much attention to the matter at hand.
He turned his head, only to find that it wasn't someone he knew.
Although he knew that those who could walk around here were definitely not ordinary people, as the owner of the only clinic in town, even the wealthy or influential people in town had to give him some face, which made him very confident.
With a serious expression, he said, "May I ask what you wish to ask, young lady?"
"I dare not presume to ask your advice." Shulan stepped forward and first squatted down to check if the thin child was injured.
But she found the child was burning hot, and frowned as she asked the man beside her, "Didn't the child say he was cold earlier?"
The young man quickly nodded: "Yes, Tiger kept saying he was cold. I didn't break the medicine on purpose. I just didn't have the strength in my hands, and this medicine makes me feel unwell."
The apprentice doctor retorted, "You're talking nonsense."
Shulan noticed a small amount of medicinal juice on a fragment, carefully picked it up, and brought it to her nose to smell it. Her brows furrowed even more.
Seeing the cauldron still simmering there, I was about to go over and check it out.
This cauldron is very large; it's used in the camp to make soup when it's too cold.
There are several such furnaces, which can be used to boil water and decoct medicine.
Shulan tried to step forward, but was stopped by several young apprentices.
Li Guangshan asked, "What are you going to do?"
Shulan stated frankly, "I want to see the medicine furnace."
One of the older apprentice doctors asked, "Why should I?"
Shulan smiled: "Based on this."
He kicked it without any hesitation.
She had no habit of not hitting children, and kicked them directly in the stomach: "Anyone who dares to stop me will see what happens."
After saying that, he went to the cauldron where the medicine was being boiled and wanted to lift the lid.
But she discovered that this cauldron was not something a small person like her, who was less than 1.6 meters tall, could offend.
Just as he was about to stand on the stool next to him, the medicine boy pounced on him, and even Li Guangshan couldn't sit still and wanted to step forward.
But then a tall figure strode over, grabbed Li Guangshan's token as he was about to charge forward, and tossed it out of the camp.
He said to the soldiers behind him, "Arrest them."
"Yes, General."
The soldiers stepped forward, and Li Guangshan, terrified, begged for mercy, "General, spare my life!"
He Fengmian ignored him completely, kicked the medicine boys away a few times, and went straight to Shulan's side.
Looking at her short arms and legs, even if she jumped, she wouldn't be as tall as the cauldron. I was afraid she would fall in headfirst and get boiled.
He said, "I'll do it."
Then, he easily lifted the lid of the cauldron, which weighed over ten pounds, and placed it aside.
Shulan was delighted and was about to stand on the stool to take a look.
He Fengmian was genuinely afraid she would fall into a trap, so he had to ask again, "Do you want to see the dregs of the medicine?"
"Yes, I'm checking if any medicine is missing."
For someone who is constantly immersed in Chinese medicine, the smell of Chinese medicine is very sensitive. She felt that the decoction was missing a certain ingredient, but she had to find evidence.
He Fengmian said to the people behind him, "Go and bring out the medicine in this cauldron for Doctor Shu to see."
"yes."
Shulan didn't forget to instruct, "Soldier, take that father and son to the intensive care unit and hand them over to Doctor Wang. Tell them it's daytime malaria."
