Chapter 5 Xie Shulan's Secret

"Jianxing, should we send this back to the camp immediately and have our elder brother send someone to make it as soon as possible?"

He Fengmian, courtesy name Jianxing.

Liu Moyang grew up with him since childhood, and they are even related by blood.

He had a very good relationship with the He brothers since childhood. When they were out in public, he called them General, but in private, they always addressed him by his courtesy name.

The two had already returned to their tent. The former couldn't hide his excitement, since he had to pretend to be silent in public, but not in front of his friend.

He was so happy when he saw the blueprints that he couldn't wait to build it right now, but thought, "The fewer people who know about this, the better."

Sitting there, He Fengmian looked down at the object drawn on the Xuan paper: "She said it's called the Divine Arm Crossbow?"

Their current crossbows are too heavy and large for all soldiers to use.

They must be selected from among the best and strongest soldiers and trained before they can use crossbows.

Even so, there aren't many people to choose from.

He couldn't help but look at what was written on the paper, as well as the size of the crossbow.

If this crossbow could be made lightweight and more soldiers could use it, it would be extremely advantageous for them in both close and long-range combat, providing a guarantee for their lives.

Liu Moyang, standing beside him, nodded excitedly: "That's what Madam said."

After thinking for a moment, he added, "The lady said that this is a sign of sincerity in cooperating with the General."

"Sincerity, huh~~" He was clearly still unconvinced by the nonsense spouted by this Xie family woman.

However, it must be said that using this crossbow to surrender was indeed a move that struck a chord with him.

He suddenly said, "Second year of junior high."

Suddenly, a person dressed in night clothes appeared in the tent, whose everything except his eyes was covered in black.

“Look at her.”

"Yes." The figure then disappeared back into the tent.

He Fengmian looked at the divine crossbow again and said to Liu Moyang, "Have someone make a copy and send it to my elder brother. Have someone make this thing as soon as possible."

He Fengling is his older brother. Eight years ago, the Chiyan Kingdom sent an army of 100,000 to invade, and the war was extremely fierce.

Their parents sacrificed their lives, and their eldest brother also injured his leg and can now only get around in a wheelchair.

When this happened, He Fengmian was only sixteen years old, and everyone thought the He family was about to decline.

Despite the pain of losing his son and daughter-in-law, General He was prepared to come personally to protect his grandson.

However, He Fengling did not want the old man to be tired, and despite his leg injury, he stayed at the border to assist his younger brother.

All of this is thanks to His Highness the Crown Prince back then, now His Majesty Emperor Chongming, Xiao Zhengyou.

He Fengling served as a companion to Prince Xiao for several years before going to the battlefield with his parents.

Even though Prince Xiao has now ascended to that position, many people impeached the He family in the past, saying that their achievements overshadowed the emperor.

He was furious and said, "The sons of the He family are not afraid to sacrifice themselves to protect me and the people of my Great Feng Dynasty, yet you are here saying that your merits overshadow your master."

"Then which of my beloved ministers is qualified to guard the border year-round and command the He family army?"

No one can.

Because the He family army were all brave and fearless, killing countless enemies, they were a powerful weapon of the Great Phoenix Army, but they only obeyed General He Yushan. Now that He Yushan is dead, they will only listen to He Fengling and He Fengmian.

Although the emperor's wrath did not result in the deaths of millions, there were no more impeachments against the He family after that incident; instead, everyone was actively looking for incriminating evidence against them.

Even now, though He Fengmian is twenty-two and no longer as impulsive as he used to be, He Fengling still serves as a deputy general at the border.

The two brothers worked together to protect their homeland and prevent Chiyan and other countries from having any chance to attack Taifeng.

"Okay, I'll send someone to deliver it to my brother right away." Liu Moyang was overjoyed, feeling that the blueprints didn't look as bad as before.

He took the blueprints and made the arrangements, leaving He Fengmian sitting there, rubbing his left index, middle, and thumb fingers together as if he could still feel the soft touch of that body.

Suddenly, my fingers paused.

Even though most of his face was covered by his beard, you could still tell he was in a bad mood. He pressed his right hand against his brow and pinched the bridge of his nose.

On the other side.

When Shulan woke up again, it was already early the next morning.

I feel much better, but my mouth still tastes bitter.

She vaguely remembered that Xiao Cui had given her medicine.

I was too sleepy at the time, so I went to sleep after drinking it.

I heard a choked voice beside me: "Miss is awake."

Turning her head, she saw Xiao Cui sitting there like a round-faced rabbit, her eyes red and swollen: "Miss, you scared me to death."

Shulan reassured her, "I'm sorry to have worried you, I'm fine."

She fainted because she was under extreme tension. The original owner of this body had been living in fear every day during this period, and then she was hit with a stick.

I've slept for two days now, and with the medicine I've taken, I feel much better.

Looking at the girl crying like a little rabbit, he said, "Xiao Cui, I'm hungry. Is there anything to eat?"

Xiao Cui quickly wiped away her tears and said, "I'll go get some food for Miss."

He hurriedly got off the carriage, worried that the young lady might be hungry.

Shulan lay in the car, moved her head, and felt no longer dizzy.

After moving around, I felt much refreshed.

I have several red welts on my arm, I don't know when or when they were bitten, and the more I scratch, the itchier they get, but I don't care.

Now, she is happy no matter whether it's in pain or itchy.

She hadn't experienced these physical reactions in so long, and she found them incredibly rare.

However, since we often spend time outdoors, and now that the weather is getting hotter, there are more snakes, insects, and rodents. We need to buy some insect repellent and make it into powder and sachets.
