Chapter 45: A Familiar Feeling
"So what?" Yu Wan looked at the young man's slightly bitter face.
Jin Yifei was taken aback by the question and couldn't answer it for a while.
Yu Wan smiled and said, "I don't understand national affairs, let alone political disputes. I only know that before real death comes, all worries are futile, and all you need to do is focus on the present."
Jin Yifei took a deep breath, adjusted his breathing rhythm and emotions, and regained his composure.

Yu Wan examined his handwriting and praised, "It's really not bad. Has your school started teaching calligraphy now? Aren't we just reciting poems?"
Yu Cheng raised his chubby little chin. "This is what Brother Asu taught me. It's the knowledge taught by the teacher at the school. Brother Asu taught me a long time ago."
He pointed to a piece of Xuan paper on the table, "This is a sample that Brother Asu wrote for me. He wrote your name, Awan, on it. Isn't it beautiful?"
Yu Wan thought to herself, "Wow, that person really has a good upbringing!"
She rubbed his little head and said, "Then you should learn from him. If he leaves one day, you won't be able to find such a good teacher again."
Yu Cheng blinked his big eyes. "Huh? Why is he leaving? Isn't it fine here?"
Yu Wan laughed and said, "Who knows? You never know. You keep practicing. I'm going back to my room to change my clothes and make dinner."
As Yu Wan passed by Xue Xiujun's room, she heard voices coming from inside. She quickly recognized the voices.
Xue Xiujun's tone was somewhat anxious, "This is troublesome, what do you plan to do?"
He Suzhi paused for a moment before replying, "In any case, we cannot reveal our identities."
Xue Xiujun became a little anxious, and his voice rose slightly.
"Of course I know, the problem is that those bastards can't hold back anymore and have started to take action."
Yu Wan was secretly alarmed. So they knew each other before?
Who are they? And who or what forces are they involved with?
Without realizing it, the ear pressed against the door got closer and closer.

Yu Wan looked at He Suzhi, who was holding her, and then at Xue Xiujun, who was standing to the side.
"Hehehe... You guys are back? Didn't Acheng say you went out? I thought a thief broke into the house."
She wondered what those two were plotting. She hadn't overheard anything earth-shattering, but they probably wouldn't believe it, would they?
Will they be silenced?

If she dies, how about letting her return to her original world?

This system is so stupid, it must be an outdated version, it's not smart at all.
The boy holding her looked down at her and asked, "How are you? Are you hurt?"
Yu Wan blinked and met his eyes.

Xue Xiujun laughed from the side, "Boss lady, what a coincidence! You fell right into the arms of this handsome man. Surprised? Unexpected?"

Yu Wan stepped out of He Suzhi's arms and tidied her appearance.
Then, feigning composure, she scolded in a critical tone, "You didn't even tell me you were coming back, you scared me half to death."
Xue Xiujun smiled and said, "We just got back and were just about to come and report to you. Boss lady, is there something you need?"
Yu Wan waved her hand and turned to walk towards the door. "It's nothing, I just came up to change my clothes. I still have to cook. You guys rest, I'll go and get busy."
In her haste to leave, she didn't notice the table leg under her feet and tripped over it.
Although she wasn't likely to fall, He Jing still managed to catch her in time.
Yu Wan was speechless; she really didn't mean it.
He Jing looked at her pale face with some concern and touched her forehead with the back of his hand.
"Were you frightened in the mountains during the day?"
Yu Wan wanted to say no, but she nodded involuntarily.
He Jing looked worried: "I'll help you back to your room to rest. I'll cook dinner."
Xue Xiujun called out to his retreating figure, "We can discuss what we just talked about in detail another time!"
Yu Wan was helped back to her room. "I'm fine, you don't need to worry about me."
The boy forcefully tucked her into the blanket and whispered in her ear, "..."

Yu Wan's eyes widened. "No, no, I didn't hear anything."
He knew she had been eavesdropping!
Seeing her like this, He Jing recalled the scene of their first meeting.
To protect him, the girl pretended to be pitiful and acted out a scene for the assassins.

Yu Wan had no appetite. "You can do whatever you want. I'm tired. You can leave now."
Standing by the bed, He Jing suddenly asked, "You went out with that guy surnamed Jin this afternoon? He didn't do anything to you, did he?"
"Yes, we went out together. He didn't do anything to me. What's wrong?" Yu Wan felt something was off. She wasn't a criminal, so why was she being questioned?
She didn't even ask them what they were doing.
"Who's the boss between us? It's my freedom to go out with whomever I want, right? I haven't been bothering you guys."
He Jing pursed his lips, a hint of annoyance and grievance flashing in his eyes, and left without saying a word.
Yu Wan finally breathed a sigh of relief, "That was close! I thought I was going to die today."
From that day on, she would have nightmares, dreaming that He Suzhi would sit by her bedside all night, staring intently at her.
She felt genuinely frightened and specially asked Mr. Rong to prepare a calming tea for her.
That day, the shop wasn't too busy, so Yu Wan found an empty table and sat down to drink tea.
Suddenly, she heard the diners in the shop whispering and looking towards the door, so she looked in that direction as well.
A woman wearing a veil was warmly welcomed in by the waiter.
Everyone was surprised and began to whisper among themselves.
"Isn't this Lady Guan? What brings her here?"
"Is she the future daughter-in-law of Zuixianlou? The daughter of the manager of Furuiju? Didn't they say no competitors would bother us? I wonder if Madam Yu has this taboo? If so, wouldn't that be awkward?"
The waiter tried to lead Lady Guan to a good spot by the window, but she went straight to Yu Wan instead.
"Madam Yu, may I sit here?"
Yu Wan smiled and stood up. "Of course, I'll tidy up."
"No need." Lady Guan's voice was melodious, clear and pure, untouched by worldly affairs.
"I'm quite bored by myself. If you have time, could you sit with me for a while?"
While observing, Xue Xiujun leaned close to He Jing and whispered a reminder.
"It seems like they came for the landlady."
He Jing had been watching closely for a while. "Stay vigilant and be ready to act at any time."
Xue Xiujun was speechless. "Are you kidding me? It's obvious that the other party has never practiced. At most, she can only splash tea on the proprietress. She can't do anything else."

Lady Guan didn't answer, but instead looked her up and down repeatedly, as if trying to find something interesting about her.
Xue Xiujun whispered, "Why is she looking at the proprietress with such a gleam in her eyes? It's even more intense than the way you look at her. Could she be into women? Is she interested in the proprietress?"
These words earned He Jing rolling his eyes. "What nonsense are you talking about? When did I ever see her looking at me with such passion?"
Lady Guan then turned her gaze to the menu wall and praised, "I've long heard that Lady Yu's restaurant has a masterpiece, and seeing it today has truly broadened my horizons. The style is unique and distinctive, yet it feels strangely familiar."
Yu Wan raised an eyebrow. "Does this look familiar?"
