Chapter 136 Let me hear you scold me a couple of times

Jiang Yanxin grabbed her arm without restraint, and Shen Linyue only realized it after a while and felt a slight pain in her arm.

Looking at the worried boy, Shen Linyue gently shook her head: "I'm fine."

She wore thick clothes in winter, even indoors, and wore two layers of clothing. The pain in her arms was temporary and would soon subside.

He Xiao stared at her suspiciously for a long time, and only felt somewhat relieved when he didn't see any guilty look on her face.

"Leave this matter to Lao He to handle, you eat something first..." He paused.

The two of them looked up at the food scattered all over the floor by the door.

Shen Linyue: "What a waste, what a pity."

He Xiao touched his nose: "I was in a hurry just now and didn't pay attention, so I let go."

"Just be more careful next time," Shen Linyue said softly, "Ah Xiao is so lucky to have you."

He Xiao looked away and coughed lightly. Ever since the blow to his head, he had been in a strange state, always mistaking Lin Yue for his mother.

For a fleeting moment when the door opened, he thought he saw his mother pleading for help...

"What? Is this the first time you've discovered how good I am?" the young man replied nonchalantly.

Looking at the boy's deliberate act, Shen Linyue smiled without saying a word.

...

Jiang Yanxin returned to the second floor in a disheveled state. As soon as she stepped out of the elevator, she bumped into Jiang Zhixing, who was also coming out.

"Mom?" Jiang Zhixing looked at his mother in surprise, who had lost her composure and completely disregarded the etiquette of a noble family.

This was the first time he had ever seen her look so dazed and confused.

Jiang Yan was startled and grabbed Jiang Zhixing's arm tightly as if it were a lifeline, her eyes filled with fear: "Where is your Uncle Jiang?"

Jiang Zhixing frowned, glanced at his mother's hand, whose veins were bulging from the effort, and then met her bewildered eyes.

"Mom, what happened?" He tried to soothe her in a very gentle tone, helping her walk to the sofa in the living room.

Jiang Yanxin was speechless, and her head began to throb with pain again.

Because of the pain, she could only let go and pinch her temple. She pushed away his outstretched hand and slapped the back of his hand with a crisp sound, but she didn't notice.

"It's none of your business! It's none of your business! Go find your Uncle Jiang! Go now!" Her eyes were bloodshot, and she looked somewhat ferocious and pained.

Jiang Zhixing looked at her reddened hand, his thin lips pressed tightly together, and then stared at her deeply, his eyes filled with complex emotions of sadness and disappointment.

He turned and went downstairs, all emotion hidden in his eyes.

What are they hiding from him?

Why does his mother, who should have been his only support, only trust Uncle Jiang?

He longed to tell his mother that he was now an adult, capable of taking responsibility for his future, and able to be her constant support.

But his mother kept pushing him away.

Why? Why is Uncle Jiang more trustworthy than him?

At this moment, Jiang Zhixing thought that he could no longer pretend to be a fool; he had to figure everything out.

...

The backyard on the first floor was covered in snow due to the continuous snowfall, and the winter plum blossoms standing in the cold wind were also covered in snow.

At this moment, two men, one in black and one in white, with similar builds, sat on the veranda, with several sweet potatoes and a teapot on the stove beside them.

"It seems like it's been many years since we've sat down and had a proper chat like this," Jiang Jinyu sighed as he recalled.

He Liyu took a sip of tea, turned the sweet potatoes over one by one, and said calmly, "So much has happened over the years, we can never go back to the old days."

Jiang Jinyu paused, turned to look at him, and sighed, "It's been almost nine years since that happened. When will you finally get over it?"

He Liyu tightened his grip on the teacup, then gently lowered it, looking at the distant mountain peaks shrouded in thick fog.

“I can’t get over it, I’ll never get over it in this lifetime,” He Liyu said in a low voice as he looked back. “I will definitely give A-Yue an explanation, no matter what the cost.”

He said this to Jiang Jinyu, his tone calm, as if stating a fact or issuing a warning.

The two stared at each other for a few seconds, then Jiang Jinyu smiled and replied seriously.

"If you need anything, you can contact me. I have an excellent legal team," he said, then added with a sigh, "I really can't imagine how devastating it would have been if someone had suddenly told me back then that the aloof and celibate campus heartthrob from Taipei University would one day be willing to fight tooth and nail for love without ever looking back."

He clicked his tongue in amazement, then turned around and said with a grin, "It's a pity I've never been involved in relationships in this life, so I really can't empathize with you."

He Liyu met his eyes for a few seconds, then looked away and said softly, "You don't get involved in relationships, but you do get involved with women, right?"

The smile on Jiang Jinyu's lips faded, and she glanced at him, saying, "What do you mean by that, Ayu? You're not following me, are you?"

He Liyu sneered, "President Jiang is so unconventional in this regard that it's hard for me not to know. The day before yesterday, entertainment reporters broke the news that you were going in and out of a hotel with a female celebrity, and yesterday I saw you kissing a woman on the street. Isn't that a coincidence?"

Jiang Jinyu fell completely silent.

He recalled who the woman from yesterday was, and said with a knowing smile, "Entertainment news is worth Mr. He's attention? Or is Mr. He just too concerned about me?"

He Liyu glanced at him and said, "Don't force me to scold you."

"Pfft!" Jiang Jinyu suddenly burst into laughter, tears welling up in his eyes. He raised his hand to wipe them away and said, "How come your temper is still the same as before? That's really strange."

He inexplicably leaned closer and started acting like a jerk: "Why don't you curse me out a couple of times right now?"

"Get lost." He Liyu stood up and wanted to leave, not wanting to pay any attention to the lunatic.

After Jiang Jinyu finished laughing, she said, "Wait a minute, take two roasted sweet potatoes back with the child."

He Liyu paused, honestly turned back, and his nose was filled with the aroma of roasted sweet potatoes.

His consciousness flickered for a moment; he and A-Yue had fallen in love because of sweet potatoes...

That night, the sky was full of stars. They camped on the mountaintop, and everyone went to see the stars. It was said that there was a meteor shower that night.

With him by A-Yue's side, the time was ripe and the atmosphere was just right. He prepared to confess his feelings, having carefully crafted his confession in his mind.

Just as she was about to get to the point, A-Yue exclaimed, "Ah! My roasted sweet potato!"

When he finally found the sweet potato, looking disheveled, Ah Yue poked the scalding hot sweet potato with a stick and then finished speaking.

"Your confession was great, but don't read it again next time. I've memorized it by heart." The girl looked at him with a smile, just as a shooting star streaked across the sky.

At that moment, He Liyu's whole world consisted only of her.

"Uncle Jiang." A clear, youthful voice rang out, and He Liyu's thoughts returned to normal.

He looked at Jiang Zhixing, who had suddenly appeared, and then glanced at Jiang Jinyu without saying a word.

Jiang Jinyu frowned slightly, then smiled calmly and said, "Little A-Xing, you've come at just the right time. Try Uncle's roasted sweet potatoes."

Jiang Zhixing also saw He Liyu, and after a moment of surprise, he politely greeted him, "Uncle He."

Hearing Uncle Jiang's words again, she was about to refuse when she met his deep black eyes, and a chill immediately rose from the soles of her feet.
